A couple of changes are being made for episode 3.
Rather than having buzz codes, the questioning will be similar to that of Card Sharks.
I will ask the same style of questions, only one player will give an answer, and the other player has to predict if the correct answer is higher or lower, or earlier or later, depending on the question asked.
Play will alternate after every question.
Also, I've replaced one of the three "Random Riches" cards with a "Surprise" card.
Now as in life, some surprises may be pleasant, while others not so pleasant.
There will be 3 possible choices when the Surprise card is selected.
Under one will be a Prize (a prize worth between $2,000 and $4,000 in value). Under another will be $5,000 in cash to be added to the player's total. And under one it will say - $2,500 (or MINUS $2,500).
If a player has less than $2,500 in their bank, they will be "in the hole" and the score will reflect that in red numerals instead of gold.
Also, if a player is in a minus situation and they hit a Fool's Gold card, they don't go back to a score of $0...rather they remain in the red.
Lastly, if a player is in the red and hits one of the "Double Gold" cards, then their negative score would be doubled!
Some new twists to the game...
Kourtney is the defending champion. I need somebody who has not yet played to take him on.
Please let me know if there are any questions regarding the new rule changes or new features.
Thank you,
Bill

I want to try it. The previous episodes looked interesting and I give it a chance for the third one. PD: Are there some cash cards like in the past episodes?
Post by billmcdee on May 8, 2018 2:41:15 GMT -5
Yes indeed, 7 cash cards as before, 2 Random Riches where the player can either take the sure thing (could be anywhere from $750 up to $7,500) or give it back and select another number.
2 Take cards which will only apply to prizes.
1 Insurance marker which is good unless there's only 1 Fool's Gold card remaining, then the marker becomes null and void.
2 Double Gold cards
4 Prize cards
1 Surprise card
1 $10,000 card
And of course as always, 5 Fool's Gold cards will be lurking on the board somewhere.
The episode may not start until at least tomorrow. For one I want to do some updated visuals, for another I need to do prize research, but mainly I'm under the weather today and will probably spend most of today sleeping.
Looking forward to this next episode, more to come...
Thanks! Bill

Fantastic! Really an honor to have you here with us Sergio. Best wishes in all of your future endeavors, including our game here tonight. As you saw our big board of 25 numbered boxes contain cash awards, other types of cards, several prizes, one insurance marker but also five Fool's Gold cards. You want to avoid selecting those because if you do so, any cash and prizes you have in your bank will be taken away just like that (snapping my fingers). You can win the game in one of three ways players. If your banked cash and prize total is $25,000 or more than your opponent's, you win the game. You also win if you have any money at all and your opponent uncovers the fifth and final Fool's Gold card. You can also win if nothing remains on the board but Fool's Gold cards and your bank total is higher than that of your opponent. The winner of tonight's match will play the Gold Rush Bonus Bonanza where you could win a new Mercedes and a Super Gold Jackpot valued at $270,000 in cash! (Audience ooohs & ahhhs) And we will begin this new match between these fine two young men, right after this brief time out! We'll rush back, I promise! (applause)

See? I told you we would rush right back! We're going to try a slightly different way of doing our questions. As before, all of our questions are based on estimations. I will ask Kourtney the first question and he will provide his answer. I will then ask Sergio if he believes the correct answer is more or less than Kourtney's answer. In the case of questions about years, I will ask if the player believes the correct answer is before or after the guess given by their opponent. Whoever wins the toss up question earns control of the 25 numbered board and players may either pass control to their opponent or play, so strategy will come into play as we get deeper into the game. Very well, Kourtney, this first question is yours. Kourtney, how many milligrams of caffeine are there in one cup of regular coffee?
Post by pathfinder20 on May 12, 2018 13:41:32 GMT -5
I know coffee is pretty high on caffeine and so is Mtn Dew. It is probably pretty reasonable to say 67mg
Post by billmcdee on May 12, 2018 16:19:05 GMT -5
Kourtney says 67 mg of caffeine... (ding) Sergio, do you believe the correct answer is higher or lower than 67 mg?
Post by romnserg on May 12, 2018 16:56:59 GMT -5
Ummm... I'm not sure. Let's say lower than 67.
Post by billmcdee on May 13, 2018 4:24:15 GMT -5
Sergio locks in with "Lower" (ding) I will find out along with our players in a moment. I do not know the answer, but then I am not a coffee drinker. Coffee isn't my cup of tea. (chuckling in the audience) The actual number of milligrams of caffeine in one regular cup of coffee is... (ding ding ding) 95 milligrams! It is not lower, it is much much higher. Well, that will certainly keep you up nights! Kourtney, you won that toss-up which means you get to go to the board first, and here is your base card.....no wait a minute, that's another show! See how forgetful I get because I never got into the coffee habit? Ordinarily Kourtney you could pass or play, however since you have nothing at stake, please select a number from the big board, and perhaps you'll find something good up there!

Let’s start at the top of the deck with number one.
Post by billmcdee on May 13, 2018 11:46:21 GMT -5
Northwest corner of the board to begin... One of our 7 cash boxes. Kourtney, there's a cash award under each bill. Do you want the top, middle or bottom one?
Post by pathfinder20 on May 13, 2018 15:23:41 GMT -5
Lets try the top bill.
Post by billmcdee on May 13, 2018 16:29:40 GMT -5
$800, a modest beginning, but a nice one nevertheless... Time for our next question and this time Sergio will answer, and then I will ask Kourtney if the correct answer is higher or lower than Sergio's answer. Sergio... How many people attended the Glastonbury Festival in 2013? And how many milligrams of caffeine did they consume? (chuckling in the audience) No, that part of the question is just a joke. How many people attended the Glastonbury Festival in 2013, Sergio?
Post by romnserg on May 13, 2018 16:36:20 GMT -5
Ugh, I don't think this is a joke, because I've heard about the Glastonbury Festival at least once. Well, let's go for 10.000 people (I might go over...)
Post by pathfinder20 on May 13, 2018 16:50:37 GMT -5
Never heard of it but I think there is more people than that.

Post by billmcdee on May 13, 2018 17:24:34 GMT -5
10,000 for Sergio and higher says Kourtney. Incidentally players, after your opponent states an answer, feel free to chime in with your higher/lower, before/after guesses. The actual number of people who attended the Glastonbury Festival in 2013 was... Wow! 118,480! It was much higher, Kourtney is right. I've never heard of this Glastonbury Festival. I have heard of the Strawberry Festival however... Kourtney, you control the board again. You could pass if you wish, you have but $800 at risk at the moment, but it's entirely up to you how you want to do it. Pass or play Kourtney?
Post by pathfinder20 on May 13, 2018 18:27:13 GMT -5
Play and we will go with 10.
Post by billmcdee on May 13, 2018 18:41:05 GMT -5
And behind number 10... Well, another money box. You have a penchant for sniffing those out Kourtney! Top, middle or bottom?
Post by pathfinder20 on May 13, 2018 20:03:38 GMT -5
Lets go with bottom this time.
Post by billmcdee on May 14, 2018 14:21:02 GMT -5
And that is worth another... $2.750. (applause) $3,550 so far for Kourtney, Sergio has yet to score. This question goes to you Kourtney. In what year did Tennessee Williams's "The Glass Menagerie" premiere?
Post by pathfinder20 on May 14, 2018 14:24:11 GMT -5
Plays are not my strongpoint. I want to say he is a 20th century playwright. I am going to say 1915.
Post by billmcdee on May 15, 2018 5:32:09 GMT -5
1915 is Kourtney's response.
Sergio, do you believe the correct answer is before or after the year 1915?
(Next update more than likely won't be until tomorrow due to work, storms and an appointment I have later today)
Post by romnserg on May 15, 2018 6:29:32 GMT -5
I'm afraid that I'm agree with Kourtney. Plays aren't my strong point as well. But I'm sure that's between the 1920s and 1930s. So, my answer is: After 1915.
Post by billmcdee on May 16, 2018 12:53:39 GMT -5
1915 says Kourtney, After 1915 says Sergio, and I say... The year in which Tennessee Williams's play "The Glass Menagerie" premiered was... 1944, Sergio was right, it was after! (applause) Sergio, your first chance at the big board tonight. 23 numbers left, 18 are safe. You can play if you wish or, if you think Kourtney might hit one of the Fool's Gold cards, you can pass. Play it or pass it Sergio?
