[LOUDER CHEERS AND APPLAUSE](I walk to center stage, already wearing a clip-on mic on my tie) Greg: I thank you, Gary Kroeger. Welcome to Card Sharks, a game of decisions where you can win a fortune on the turn of a single card. I'd like to thank Corey Hudson of Chicago, Illinois for that opening poem. He watches us on WGN 9, Chicago's Very Own. We'll send you $500 and a T-shirt. Now, let's meet today's dealers. From The Bold and the Beautiful, Jacqueline MacInnes Wood and Felisha Cooper! (the two ladies walk out to cheers and applause) Thank you for coming, ladies. Felisha: You're welcome. I grew up watching this show with Bob Eubanks, so it's really awesome to be here.Jacq: Yeah. Can't wait to give away a lot of money.Greg: Here here. And thank you two for making that long, long, arduous walk from Studio 31. Felisha: No problem. And Greg, you, Doug, and Tony are always welcome at Forrester Creations. (she gives me a kiss on the cheek, audience oooohs) Greg: WOW! I'll have to marry into the "family", first. Forrester 'til I die! Now, let's open up the board and get to the cards! (the board opens up as the ladies begin dealing) [MAIN THEME, CHEERS AND APPLAUSE]
[FRANK] [CS][CS][CS][CS][CS]
[KEVIN] [CS][CS][CS][CS][CS]
And while the ladies are dealing, let's meet our first two Card Sharks. [BOTH CONTESTANTS RUN TO THEIR LECTERNS, CHEERS AND APPLAUSE]
[FRANK] [KEVIN]

Our first game has Frank Driscoll and Kevin Kolsen. First, let's say hi to Frank. Hiya, Frank. Please tell us about yourself.

Well Greg, I'm currently a student at San Francisco State University where I'm studying broadcasting and media studies. Also, on the side, I'm a checker and a bagger for a local chain of grocery stores.

Excellent. So, what do you like about being a grocery store bagman? (audience chuckles)

Cardio machines. I'm on the bike, the treadmill or the Stairmaster but I do a little weight training as well.

Now, before we begin, you two were each supposed to cut your respective decks before the show. Did you cut the cards?

Well good. Good luck to both of you. (I walk over to the board) [FRANK] [CS][CS][CS][CS][CS]
[KEVIN] [CS][CS][CS][CS][CS]
Now, for those of you who live under a rock and don't get YouTube... (Audience laughs) I shall explain the rules. As you can see, each player has a deck of 52 playing cards. We've dealt out five for each player. Frank plays the top row, Kevin plays the bottom. Object of the game is to make your way across the board by predicting whether the next card is higher or lower in rank than the one preceding it. You may freeze any time you wish because if you make an incorrect prediction, all your progress to that point is erased and you start at your base card again. First player to make it across the board wins $1,000 and goes on to play the winner in the second game for another $1,500 and a chance at hundreds of thousands more! (audience ooooohs) Now, you can't get to the cards until you correctly answer one of our questions, and bringing them in is none other than G2-T2! (G2-T2 hovers all the way to center stage, I grab the first card) We drew numbers to see who would stand in which position. Frank, you're standing in red for this game, so we begin with you. Frank..... we surveyed 100 proctologists and we asked them..... Do you enjoy your job?(audience laughs) How many proctologists said they enjoy their job?
|
|
|
Post by fdriscoll22 on Jul 3, 2017 1:35:22 GMT -5
Well I'm sure a lot of them care more about their passion for medicine besides dealing with the behind. Due to that, I'll say 59.

[FRANK] [KEVIN]
[ ] [ ] [ ] [ 59 ] [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ]
[DING]Now that is a thought-out answer. Frank says 59 out of 100 proctologists enjoy their jobs. Higher or lower, Kevin?
|
|
|
Post by koopakid17 on Jul 3, 2017 11:12:24 GMT -5
It's a job that has to get done. All their problems are behind them. That said, I think there are some who like what they do. I'll say a little higher.

[FRANK] [KEVIN]
[ ] [ ] [HIGHER] [ 59 ] [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ]
[DING]All their problems are behind them? I don't think so. Kevin says higher. If you're right, you play. If it's lower, Frank plays. If anyone hits the answer exactly, it'll be $1,000 in bonus cash! Now, the actual number of proctologists who said they enjoy their jobs is....
[FRANK] [KEVIN]
[ ] [ ] [ ] [ 59 ] [ 13 ] [ ] [ LOWER ] [ ] [ ]
[DING-DING-DING, APPLAUSE]13! Much lower. Frank has control. (I walk back to the board) Ah, but one day their career will come to a rear end. (audience chuckles) Frank, here's your first card.... (I turn it over) [FRANK] <3H>[CS][CS][CS][CS]
[KEVIN] [CS][CS][CS][CS][CS]
(audience cheers) A three!

|
|

Alright! Let's go higher!
|
|
|
Post by palmer7 on Jul 4, 2017 10:03:51 GMT -5
Higher than the three.... (I turn the next card over) [FRANK] <3H>[6D][CS][CS][CS]
[KEVIN] [CS][CS][CS][CS][CS]
[DING, APPLAUSE]A six!

I'll play it safe and freeze.

Post by palmer7 on Jul 4, 2017 21:44:24 GMT -5
(I move the freeze bar) [FRANK] [3H]<6D>[CS][CS][CS]
[KEVIN] [CS][CS][CS][CS][CS]
And Frank protects his position, three cards away from winning his qualifier. (I walk back to G2-T2) Kevin, this next question is yours.... (I pull it out) Kevin, this is an educated guess question. The city of Moyobamba in Peru has earned its place in Guinness World Records history after organising the Largest Peruvian folk dance. (audience reacts) I kid you not. The reason for this feat was to celebrate the 43rd Tourism Week of the city, the oldest city founded by the Spanish in the Peruvian Amazon, Northern Peru. How many people in total participated in this dance?

Educated indeed. I'm not sure what the population is like but it seems to be a pretty large festival. I'll say 250,000.
