*starts wondering who 'Mr. Math' is* I'll take the card. If it's an 8 or higher, I'll automatically freeze.

I cannot seem to locate the next question players... If you will bear with me just one moment... (entering from behind the Gambit Board) (the audience gives a standing ovation and the sound effects man in kind plays the following...) picosong.com/4U4j/Bill: Well bless my soul, it's Wink Martindale! Wink, what a pleasure to see you here. Allow me to wish you a very happy early (mumbling a number) birthday! Wink: Thank you Bill, and I understand you have a milestone birthday coming up later this month as well. Bill: I do indeed Wink, and I received the AARP papers in the mail last week to prove it. Wink: (Chuckling), well one thing's for sure Bill, we have both gone WAY OVER 21! Bill: Wink was across the hall at "The Bold and the Beautiful" portraying a man of the cloth, which is precisely why I came in early this evening to dust the entire studio. Wink: (Chuckling), I appreciate that and the fine work you and your staff have done here on the night time version of Gambit, and kudos to Tony Lane and all the folks who resurrected Gambit for the daytime here on CBS too! Bill: Wink is here to pinch-host for me. I will let Wink explain further while I take my starry-eyed self over to a seat off camera and watch, take it away Wink! Wink: Players, Gambit PM will be introducing a new and very exciting format beginning tomorrow night. One of those features is an exciting new "Beat the House" end game which Bill asked me to do. Matt and Nathan, both of you will return for tomorrow night's show. For tonight however, the winner of this game will get to play "Beat the House" so we can showcase it to all of America. It's something that Bill, the Gambit PM staff and I have been working on behind the scenes. Right now, with the score Nathan 11 and Matt 7, we need another question, and I so happen to have said question right here... Wink: William, Winston or Conrad, what is my actual first name? (Please submit buzz codes no later than Sunday, December 4th - Wink's birthday, at 5:15am EST).

Wink: Manuela, to go with Matt's 7, what do you have? Wink: A big old Ace of Spades Matt, do you want to call that 8 and continue playing, or do you want to call it 18 and freeze?

(applause in the audience)
(Time's up bell is ringing)
Wink: Bill, it's only early December, too early for Jingle Bells. What's going on?
Bill: Wink, that mean's time is running short and we want to determine a winner for this game and determine who will get to play the new "Beat the House" bonus game during our final segment.
Rather than ask Nathan any further questions, Manuela will simply deal up more cards to add to his hand of 11. If Nathan can beat 18 without going over 21, he will play Beat the House, otherwise, it will be Matt who plays it.
(Will update more later this evening if my schedule permits).

I figured Matt would want to freeze, so that means that if I bust, I lose out and will have to play on a much later episode (I'm assuming I'm right)

Just a reminder, both of our players will return to the next episode, as we are going to go back to doing self-contained episodes again and introducing the new format. One change is this, implementing it from "Catch 21", once one player freezes, the other player will just have cards dealt to them until they either beat the frozen hand, or go over. This will make it a bit more challenging for the player in the lead now, to decide if they should freeze or risk playing on. Manuela, what is Nathan's next card? If it's a ten, or a face card, it's an instant win plus $7,500 from the Any 21 Jackpot! (groans) That gives you 14. Now you need a 5, a 6 or a 7 to win. Manuela? (more groans) Next card Manuela... picosong.com/fTwB/Too much! And the game goes to Matt! picosong.com/3zeF/Nathan, you will be back with us on our next show, if you are able to return of course, which we hope you are. We hope all of you viewers will return to watch Matt play a new end game "Beat the House", back in a jiffy!

(applause) Alright Matt, let's play "Beat the House"! There it is, fanfare and all, this is BEAT the HOUSE... A quick shoutout to one member of the staff who helped us to develop and improve this endgame, L Lindquist Urban! Thank you ever so much! Matt, here's how this is going to work. First, Manuela will break the seal on a brand new deck of 52 cards... We've removed all Jokers from our decks and walked them across the hall to Tony Lane over at The Joker's Wild. Matt, if you wish to, you may cut the cards. If you do, select a number higher than 0 but lower than 52, and that will represent how deep into the deck we will cut the cards. If you wish to not cut them, please indicate that as well.

Very well, now here's how this will work Matt. Each of these 52 cards is concealing a money amount. As you can see by the table, there are four each of $5,000 cash cards all the way down to four $1,000 cash cards. I will ask you at this time to select any card, and we will reveal the cash card behind it. If it is $1,000 or $5,000, that will be the value of the first hand of this game. If it's any other amount, you will have the opportunity to keep it or swap it and try for something higher. Two swaps per game. So please begin by selecting any one of these 52 cards and we'll reveal the cash amount attached to it Matt.

That's a pretty good start, $3,000 for the value of this first hand. You could swap if you wanted to, but with only 16 cards higher and 32 lower...well I'll let you decide Matt. Want to try this first hand for $3,000 or swap and try for an even higher amount?

Hidden behind the four letters in BEAT and the five letters in HOUSE are varying numbers ranging from 12, all the way up to 20. Select a letter, and that will determine the score that you have to beat in order for us to deposit $3,000 into your betting bank. We will play a total of five hands. The fourth hand is worth double the dollar value and the fifth and final hand is where you will have to bet at least half of your bank. Which letter do you select Matt? And if you go for an "E", please indicate if you want the red E or the blue E.

O it shall be... (ding) Only 14! (applause) Should be pretty easy to beat hopefully. Matt, if you score 15 or more with the cards Manuela deals to you, we will deposit $3,000 into your betting bank. If however your score doesn't beat 14, and if the next card Manuela deals to you could put you over, you will be given a bailout option. I'll explain more about that if and when the time comes. For now Manuela, deal 'em up... First card... A Jack! Very nice. If you score 21 during any one of the first three hands Matt, instead of banking the value of the money card selected, in this case $3,000, we will deposit FIVE thousand dollars into your betting bank automatically! Right now, you are looking for a 5 or better... Yes a KING!!! (ding) $3,000 in your betting bank so far Matt... Select another cash card. The 10 of Hearts of course is now out of play.
