Okay so it will be Matt Ringgenberg vs. John Bergman in this match. John Lopez is "on deck" for the next match. Nathan Diniz will be on deck after that. picosong.com/wicm/Frank Caliendo (as Kenny Williams): You have the knowledge… Frank Caliendo (as Kenny Williams): You know the odds… Frank Caliendo (as Kenny Williams): All the rest is in the cards on… Frank Caliendo (as Kenny Williams): GAMBIT… Frank Caliendo (as Kenny Williams): PM, a game of skill, fate and fortune... Frank Caliendo (as Kenny Williams): And now, from the Bob Barker Studio at CBS Television City in Hollywood, here's your Master of Ceremonies for this evening… Frank Caliendo (as Kenny Williams): Bill McDee! That's me! Thank you ladies and gentlemen, thank you Frank, and thank you to our viewing audience, from where ever you may be watching, this is the night time version of the original game of BlackJack with a brain, we call it Gambit, and since it is based on a card game, we naturally need a dealer, and we have a most lovely one... Manuela Arbeláez! (cheers & applause) Thank you and a very good evening to you Bill and to everybody watching us here in person and from where ever else you may be watching. I hope to deal up a great many winning hands. Thank you for joining us this evening. We have an exceptional champion who has won two matches and a lot of loot and a new challenger, both eager to get this new match underway, so Manuela, please introduce our players. picosong.com/q789/Manuela: Gladly Bill... First, we have a retired cashier with us, and his interests include Bible study, say hello to John Bergman. (applause) And our returning champion, from Council Bluffs, Iowa, he is a supermarket clerk as well as a Special Olympics participant who also loves Peanuts, and he's won a lot more than mere peanuts...back with $47,832 in cash and prizes, it's Matt Ringgenberg! (applause) Manuela: Players, good evening, and good luck... Wink Martindale had a hit record I think in 1959 called "Deck of Cards", which was a song about a soldier who didn't have a bible, but used a deck of playing cards to explain why they reminded him of the bible. It's a very clever song to say the least. John, what else do you do in your spare time as you are, from what my card says, retired?

Well, I'm a game show fan, plus I also enjoy 60's to 70's rock music and swing music and dancing. I'm glad to be here on GAMBIT PM.

Our current champion has won two matches and a cash and prize total of $47,832, and hoping for even more, welcome back Matt Ringgenberg!
(cheers & applause)
Matt we know you're involved in Special Olympics and that they are held annually in March, and also that you're a fan of Peanuts and that you're employed as a supermarket clerk in the town of Council Bluffs, Iowa. Anything else you'd like to share with us?

The object of our game is to get 21, or closer to it than your opponent does, without going over. Each game win is worth $1,000, but if you win with 21 exactly, you'll also win an additional Any 21 Jackpot which currently stands at... (CLANG) $6,500. We have a standard deck of 52 playing cards plus two jokers shuffled in as well. If a Joker is discovered, whichever player receives that card will win a $500 bonus, theirs to keep no matter what, and we will add $500 to the Any 21 Jackpot instantly as well. Whoever wins two games first wins the match and faces off against our Gambit Board for lots of valuable cash and merchandise prizes, and maybe even a new automobile! (oohs & ahhs) Manuela, please break the seal on that new deck of cards. John, as the challenger, it is your job to cut the cards. Select a number higher than 0 but lower than 54.

An even-Steven cut. At the beginning of each game of the match, Manuela will reveal the first card and only the first card. A five. The fate of this card, and all other cards will be determined by toss-up questions. First one to buzz in will answer. A correct answer and you get to decide if you wish to keep the card or give it away, but if you give an incorrect answer, or the buzzer sounds before you answer (48 hour deadline), then your opponent gains control. Here's the first question of this new match. You are performing galanty. Are you riding a horse, making shadow puppets, or fencing? (Please submit your buzz codes to me via private message no later than 5:10am EST on Wednesday, October 19th).

John - 35 Matt - 06 Actual - 40 John? (John gave his answer in the PM also)... John: "Making shadow puppets." Me: Correct! (applause) Do you want that 5 for yourself or give it to Matt?

This surprises me verily...a most interesting gambit indeed. Another question coming... True or False During the Indianapolis 500, drivers who complete the race have circled the track 200 times. (Players, please submit your buzz codes no later than 3:30am EST on Friday, Oct. 21st)

True or False During the Indianapolis 500, drivers who complete the race have circled the track 200 times. picosong.com/g3fZ/John B - 8 Matt - 27 Actual - 7 John? John's answer (given in P.M.) "False." And I'm sorry but that is wrong. It is true. It's a 2.5 mile long track, 2.5 x 200 laps = 500... Therefore Matt our champion gets control of the next card... Matt, would you like to keep it or give it away to John?

I'll keep it.

And Matt has kept for himself... A seven... Here's a follow up question... Did the first Indianapolis 500 take place before or after 1920? (Players you have until 3:15pm EST on Saturday, October 22nd to submit your buzz codes to me via private message. Buzz codes are 01-100 inclusive).

Did the first Indianapolis 500 take place before 1920 or after? picosong.com/g3fZ/John - 61 Matt - 09 Actual - 80 John? John's answer (provided in PM) - Before. Me - That is correct! (applause) 1911 was the first one. John you have 5, your opponent has 7. Do you want to keep this next card or give it away?

I'm gonna pass it to Matt.

I should just point out, if this next card puts Matt's total over 12, he will have the option to freeze right away. I wasn't sure if you were aware of that John.
With that said, you still wish to pass?

Oh, ok.....In that case, I'll take the card, Bill.

Did not want to talk you into or out of something, just wanted to be sure you knew. And the card kept is... An 8 of Clubs... 13 is your current total John. You may freeze if you wish. If you elect to continue however, please remember a 9 or higher would put you over 21, also remember that if you continue, you will not be given the option to freeze again until another card is added to your hand, and that card would have to put you in the lead or keep you in the lead. Freeze or continue John?
