Bob Hilton: Stay glued to your seat As the excitement rises Watching players compete For big cash and prizes...On...[CHEERS AND APPLAUSE]And here's the host of Card Sharks... Tony Lane![WILD CHEERS AND APPLAUSE]Tony: Thank you, Bob. Happy TGIF, folks... and welcome to Card Sharks. TV's only show where you could win a fortune in cash and prizes on the turn of the cards. And if you play your cards right, you could win as much as $168,000... and a chance at winning a brand new automobile. I would like to say a very special thanks to Mario Lopez for that opening poem. He watches us on KCBS-TV in Los Angeles, California. Before we begin the game, we have two special guest dealers on our show. Please give it up for the judge of "Dancing with the Stars" Julianne Hough and the winner of DWTS... Rumer Willis. [LOUD CHEERS AND APPLAUSE]Welcome to the show... and congrats on winning the contest, Rumer. Rumer: Thanks, Tony. And I'm sure that our contestants will be dancing all the way to win some money. Tony: I agree with you. Are you ready to roll, Julianne? Julianne: No doubt... let's get to it. Tony: OK then. Let's get to the cards! [MAIN THEME, CHEERS AND APPLAUSE]And while Rumer and Julianne set up the board, let's say hello to our weekend warriors on Card Sharks.*contestants run to their podiums* Our players for today are Matt Ringgenberg and our returning champion Greg Palmer. First, let's meet Matt for a moment. Please tell everyone in TV land about yourself.

Wait! Did you find another contestant for this episode? If not, I'll play. Yep... I've already found a contestant.
(Sorry for the interruption. OK 'cause you put down that James will be in episode 7, but he's in this episode. Can I be in episode 7?)

James hasn't responded by 24 hours. Therefore, you'll be in episode 6 while Matt will be taking over James's spot due to ineligibility.
Matt... please tell us about yourself.

Well, I'm Greg Palmer, I'm a college student from Durham, NC studying Web Technologies. I am impulsive and bad with money, but I don't know exactly what I'm going to do with $78,000 after taxes and a tithe to my church.

Good luck to you, Greg. Both of you have already know the rules of the game before the start of the show. Whoever wins the best 2 out of 3 rounds will be playing the Money Cards and at least a chance at driving in a new automobile. And inside each of the players' cards we have a trip to Tokyo, a video arcade game, and cash cards. *G2-T2 hovers all the way to center stage* We begin round 1 with the first question. *grabs card* Greg... we've asked 100 marriage counselors: If a bride is nervous about her honeymoon, is it a good idea to bring her mother along? How many of them say it's a good idea to bring the wife's mother along on a honeymoon?

That would be a deal breaker in my book. Mothers-in-law just kill the mood. That's going to be a loooooooow number, 15.

[DING]15 out of 100 say it's a good idea to bring the bride's mother along on a honeymoon. What do you think of that answer, Matt... higher or lower?

Post by mringgenberg on May 22, 2015 20:17:22 GMT -5
It has to be a little lower.

It has to be a little lower. Any reason why you think it's lower, Matt?

Mothers and mothers-in-law do seem to to feel almost like a third wheel. It really does kill the mood.

[DING]If it's lower, you'll play your cards. If not, Greg will be playing his card. And as a reminder... if any of you get the answer on the nose, you'll receive a $1,000 bonus. Greg says 15 and Matt says it's lower. The actual number of marriage counselors say it's a good idea for a bride to bring her mother along on a honeymoon is-- [DING-DING-DING, APPLAUSE]5. Matt is right... it is lower. And the challenger will be playing his cards starting with... ...a 10. Do you want to play on this card or change it?

Change it!

Higher than a 4... [BUZZER, AUDIENCE GROANS]No... it's a 2. So that means Greg gets a free chance to play on his cards. You must play on this base card-- --a 4.

Lower than a 10... [BUZZER, AUDIENCE CONTINUES TO GROAN...]An Ace. Both players have failed to advance. We'll take a short break. And when we return, we'll have question 2 ready for our challenger. Lots of cash, prizes, surprises, and a new car to give away are still to come when Card Sharks returns following this commercial time out. Stick around, folks... [CHEERS AND APPLAUSE]Tony: Thanks, Bob. Welcome back to Card Sharks. For those of you who've tuned in right now, here's what the board looks like-- Both players haven't advanced their cards. This is just the beginning. We'll resume the first round with our next question. *grabs card* Matt... this question is for you and it involves 10 millionaires who had won a million on game shows past and present. Ladies and gentlemen... please come on over to the Contestants' Row area. [CHEERS AND APPLAUSE]*all of them walk to the area* Matt, we've asked 10 millionaires to this question before the start of the show. Can money buy happiness? How many of them say that money can buy happiness?

Sometimes the saying money can buy happiness can be true. Sometimes it is not true. So I'll say it has to be in the middle. 4
