Frank Caliendo: It's the card game where Ace is always high and Deuce is always low. Turn any two cards in the deck face up, then just try to fit a card in between that's neither higher nor lower. Welcome to the newest, high stakes card game on television. .. SPLIT DECISION! (Cheering & applause) With your host, Bill McDee! (Cheering & applause) That's me! I'd like to thank you one and all and welcome you in one and all to another episode of Split Decision. I would be remiss if I did not take a few moments before we begin to mention that on this very day of "taping" this episode, arguably the single most legendary television game show master of ceremonies departed from this world. Bob Barker began as host of "Truth Or Consequences" on the NBC Television network on New Year's Eve way back in 1956, almost a full decade before I was even born. Bob would be at the helm of that program for 18 years. He would nearly double that amount of time as host of the CBS juggernaut "The Price Is Right" from September 4th 1972 through June 15th 2007. Like Betty White, he too was a huge animal rights activist. Like Betty White, he was a television and game show legend. And sadly like Betty White, Bob did not live to see age 100. I suppose Bob being Bob, didn't want to go over. Of his almost 100 years on this earth, he spent half of those years as a television master of ceremonies. He was preceded by his wife Dorothy Jo back in late 1981. I am honored that his middle name is the same as my first name, William. I am honored that like me, he too was born in the month of December. And I am honored that I am able to present some fun and games for contestants and to you, the viewing audience alike. We have made a few more tweaks to our little game here, and I will go into detail about those when the time comes for me to do so. Right now the time has come for me to introduce our lovely dealer, the keeper of the cards, Witney Carson! (cheering & applause) Good morning Witney! Witney: Good morning Bill. Good morning contestants and good luck. Mickey Mantle was a legendary baseball player for the New York Yankees, belting over 500 home runs, but was also notorious for his many strikeouts as well. Nevertheless, he played his game the only way he knew how, and that was to swing for the fences. Much the same is true of our current champion, especially during the Pot Limit end game. He's pretty much wagered his pot limit I believe each and every time on each and every hand regardless of what splits he may have had. And while that's led him to a couple of busts, it's also led him to some pretty big cash winnings as well. Here for his fourth day, our three time champion with a total of $47,575, welcome back George Cluster! (Cheering & applause) And returning for his third try at the championship, hoping that the third time will prove to be a charm, and hoping that this will perhaps be Cluster's last stand... (groaning from the audience)... Please give a warm return welcome to Lieutenant Shederick Weatherspoon, Jr. (cheering & applause) Gentlemen welcome back to Split Decision. We're going to get right into game one of today's match. Players can win one hand in either of two ways, one is by receiving a card that fits between two other cards that are in their hand, the other is if their opponent receives a card that does NOT fit the split. Our players will win cash for every hand won, regardless of the outcome of each game and the overall match. The first player to win 3 hands wins one game, and the first player to win 2 games wins the match, and will go on to play our Pot Limit end game for a chance at as much as $83,000 today! (canned faked NBC OOOHHHSS & AAAHHHSSS) We'll take a quick time out, and we'll get the proceedings for today's match underway, right after these words of interest!

Welcome back all. Before we begin, I want to have Witney present to you George at this time two standard decks of 52 playing cards. I'll ask you which deck you want us to use for game one of this match. The other deck will be used for games 2 and if necessary, the game 3 one hand showdown. Do you want red or blue today George? And Shederick, at this time I also would like for you to give me a number higher than 0 but lower than 52. This will determine how deep into the deck you wish for us to cut the cards. Once that has been done, we'll be able to continue.

Now then in order to earn control of the cards to establish the splits that both you and your opponent will have, you must be the first to ring in with a correct answer to a word puzzle. Word puzzles can be worth $25, $50 or $75. Hand values can be from $125 up to $250. Both of these were determined by two special decks of cards, randomly, before we went on the air. Puzzle answers will always be one word and that one word will link together two other words and/or phrases. I will tell you the first letter of the answer that we need, as well as to tell you the total number of letters in the correct answer. So off we go, our first puzzle is worth $25 and the first hand is worth $150. I need a 5 letter word this time, the first letter is "U" that connects the split: LABOR with DUES tpirepguide.com/qwizx/gssfx/usa/be-buzzer.wavShederick, you were first to ring in. You have until 6:05am EST on Tuesday, August 29th to post the correct answer in order to win control of the deck. Either an incorrect answer, passing, or if you miss the deadline will give control of the deck to George by default. George will still be allowed a guess at the puzzle at that time to try to earn the $25 for himself.

The first $25 of the day belongs to you Lieutenant, as well as control over the first three cards. The first card for this first hand is... A ten. Do you want to give that to George, place it in the center as the common card, or keep it for yourself Shederick?

Methinks I hear a bit of evil in that laughter. Don't laugh just yet. Let's see what card you get here Shederick... Got yourself a 3 there. So a 3 through a 9 will win for you, George's hand is what we call a tight SQUEEEEEEEEEEZE needing another 9 or 10 to win. Time for a brand new feature with our game. Prior to now, we did what was called the HIGH CARD Toss-Up to determine who will win control of the next card in the deck. We have now changed this to the HI LO Toss Up, and I'll explain how it works. First of all, as before, since Shederick won the puzzle toss up, he has control of this game board for the moment. Whether or not he wants to keep control is a decision that he will perhaps have to make. As before, 13 numbers on the board, as before the cards 2 through Ace are all up there, each one only once. Shederick, I'm going to have you select a pair of those boxes. Please select them in the order in which you would like for them to be revealed.

Very well. Before we get to the HI LO part of this game, there is another new feature which ties into the POT LIMIT end game. During the first three HI LO toss-ups in each of the first 2 games of the match, a hidden number will be revealed, either 3, 4 or 5. This number we are about to reveal will be the number of board picks today's winner will get to make during the first hand of our Pot Limit end game. There are four 3's on the board, two 5's and the other seven hidden numbers are 4's. Under box 6 is... Nice one! 5 big picks for the first hand of Pot Limit today. Now then, underneath that red 5 is one of thirteen cards Shederick. If it is an Ace or a Two, you'll automatically retain control of the Split Decision deck. If it is any other card, you will then have another decision to make. Also, if the very first pick on this board happens to be an Ace, it's an instant $500 bonus for you. Under that red 5 is... OH MY!!!!!! (Bonus bells) Second show in a row! Shederick, you need do nothing more here except count your $500 bonus money! Now then, you are in control of the next card from the top of the Split Decision deck Shederick. If you elect to keep it, you'll win the hand if the next card is anywhere between a 3 and a 9. You also have the option to pass it to George's hand, and try to bust him. Only another 9 or another 10 will win this first hand for him. Shederick do you wish to keep the next card or give it away?

George, if this card is another 9 or another 10, the hand is yours. If not, you'll at least have had one of the recommended daily allowances of vegetables. The card is... A Queen, that's a bust, and the first hand belongs to Shederick. www.dougmorris.net/chain/sfxding.mp3Shederick, you're now in line for another possible $500 bonus if you win this game 3 hands to none. That's a 3 hand blitz and pays $500 in bonus cash. Back now with this next puzzle worth $25, and the hand this time is worth top dollar $250. This time I need an 8 letter word starting with "I" that connects the link: SECRET with THEFT tpirepguide.com/qwizx/gssfx/usa/be-buzzer.wavGeorge you are in first this time and have until 5:15pm EST on Tuesday, August 29th to post your answer.

The studio audience would have revolted had you done anything other than that I dare say. This leaves what card for Shederick's hand? An 8. Very well, the splits have been established, now let's find out who will control the next card by doing another Hi Lo toss-up. George, please select a pair of boxes and in the order in which you would like them to be revealed. If your first pick turns up either a King or a 2 as the card, you'll win instantly and keep control, any other card and you'll have a decision or two perhaps to make. Which pair of boxes would you like to choose?

Before we reveal the card under box 7, we're first going to see how many picks will be had for hand number 2 of the Pot Limit game today. 4 picks. Now let's reveal what card is under there... You drew a 10. Now George to keep control of the main game deck, either you or Shederick must correctly predict whether the card under box 13 is HIGHER or LOWER than that 10. You have the option to play it yourself if you wish George, or you can pass and force Shederick to make the call. What is your decision George? You can see based on the distribution chart what the odds are.
