Martin Short is the correct answer! A. Eddie Murphy B. Phil Hartman C. Chris Farley D. Martin Short(Audience Applause)Ed Grimley was a frenetic somewhat childish individual whose goal in life seemed to be appearing on "Wheel of Fortune" and meeting host Pat Sajak. He also took lessons in playing the triangle. Fern was a devious character who had a lot of trouble telling the truth even when cornered and sweating. Short is a brilliant Canadian who joined "SNL" for the 1984-1985 season, bringing many of his "Second City TV" characters with him. And speaking of Wheel of Fortune, in case you haven't noticed yet, Pat Sajak has announced his retirement after the 41st season, so we'll be certainly watching do his thing for his final season in the 2023-2024 season with Vanna White. The 4 goes to your second hand, giving you a total of 10. SHEDERICK:
HAND 1: 10 HAND 2: 10 WILLIAM:
HAND 1: 10 HAND 2: 9 HOUSE'S HAND: SHEDERICK | --GAMBIT-- | WILLIAM | SWITCHES: 3 HOUSE PASS: 1 FREEZE: 1 | ANY 21 JACKPOT SET AT: | SWITCHES: 3 HOUSE PASS: 1 FREEZE: 1 | $4280 | $1750 | $2135 |

Now Shederick, all you need is an Ace on any one of your hands and you'll automatically win the game. And that Ace is hiding among the remaining 8 categories, including the Last Chance Wild Card category, but you can't play that until the other 7 are used up, so choose one.

Enigma is correct! (Audience Applause)Another word for "mystery" is enigma. Enigma was also the name of the secret encryption machine used throughout World War II. Invented by a German engineer called Arthur Scherbius, it took a team of cryptologists at Bletchley Park in England to decipher the code. Now Shederick, we're going to a look at the card behind Take A Letter, and if that card is an Ace, you will not only win this showdown, but you'll also get Blackjack, aka 21, thus winning another Any 21 Jackpot, and most importantly, you'll be going to the Gambit Plus Bonus Round, and the right to face against the designated champion in the second half of the show. So, for a possible win, what's the card behind Take A Letter? OPERA | --GAMBIT-- | MAPS OF STATES | | REDHEADS | BIOS | THE U.N. | WILD WEST | --GAMBIT-- | --GAMBIT-- | <<LAST CHANCE>> | --GAMBIT-- |

I figured that it would be the strategic move for you. SHEDERICK:
HAND 1: 10 HAND 2: 10 WILLIAM:
HAND 1: 12 HAND 2: 9 HOUSE'S HAND: SHEDERICK | --GAMBIT-- | WILLIAM | SWITCHES: 3 HOUSE PASS: 1 FREEZE: 1 | ANY 21 JACKPOT SET AT: | SWITCHES: 3 HOUSE PASS: 1 FREEZE: 1 | $4280 | $1850 | $2135 |

But let's not forget that both of you have 3 switches. In order to use one of your switches, you have to take a card for yourself before you make a switch and you have to be in control. That being said, Shederick, choose another category.

Alan Ball is correct! A. Paul Scholes B. Bobby Charlton C. Alan BallD. Martin Peters (Audience Applause)Alan Ball twice set the English domestic transfer record, firstly when he moved from Blackpool to Everton in August 1966 (for a fee of 110,000 pounds) and then when he moved again to Arsenal, for roughly double the amount. Players nowadays transfer for millions! That being said, Shederick, you got the question right again. Now, if this card has an Ace, and you'll win the first half of this program. So, for the win, what is the card behind Redheads? OPERA | --GAMBIT-- | MAPS OF STATES | --GAMBIT-- | | BIOS | THE U.N. | WILD WEST | --GAMBIT-- | --GAMBIT-- | <<LAST CHANCE>> | --GAMBIT-- |
(Audience Murmurs) Well, it's a 9. Now Shederick, this poses a dilemma. That 9 is certainly good for William's 12, because that will give him the automatic win, and for his 9, and that'll take him to a respectable 18. However, you can take that 9 for yourself and add to one of your hands if you wish. Or you can discard all of that, and either the top card from Melissa's deck, or if you want, you can use your House Pass and pass that card over to the House. What are you going to do?

Post by dad90 on Jul 21, 2023 23:27:55 GMT -5
You are going to take a risk by getting the top card from the deck. Now, this is a card that you have to take for yourself, and if this card is an Ace, and you'll automatically win. Melissa, what's the top card? Ooh, it's a 3. Now you have to decide where to put that 3 in one of your hands, Shederick.

Adding the 3 to your 10 for a total of 13. SHEDERICK:
HAND 1: 13 HAND 2: 10 WILLIAM:
HAND 1: 12 HAND 2: 9 HOUSE'S HAND: SHEDERICK | --GAMBIT-- | WILLIAM | SWITCHES: 3 HOUSE PASS: 1 FREEZE: 1 | ANY 21 JACKPOT SET AT: | SWITCHES: 3 HOUSE PASS: 1 FREEZE: 1 | $4280 | $2000 | $2135 |
Now Shederick, one of your hands is higher than an 11, so now, you another decision to make. A couple in fact. You can use one of your switches to switch one of your cards from one hand and to the other if you wish. You can also freeze if you want, but be careful, because if you decide to freeze, you are freezing BOTH of your hands at the same time, and that is important, because if you decide to go on, and William gets a question right, he could bust one of your hands, leaving with one hand remaining. OPERA | --GAMBIT-- | MAPS OF STATES | --GAMBIT-- | --GAMBIT-- | BIOS | THE U.N. | WILD WEST | --GAMBIT-- | --GAMBIT-- | <<LAST CHANCE>> | --GAMBIT-- |

Starts at California, ends at North Carolina

Post by dad90 on Jul 22, 2023 23:50:53 GMT -5
California and North Carolina are the states that we're looking for! (Audience Applause)I-40 begins in the Mojave Desert in California, and then proceeds through the Colorado Plateau in Arizona and the southern tip of the Rocky Mountains in New Mexico. It then traverses the Great Plains through the Texas Panhandle and Oklahoma, and passes south of the Ozarks in Arkansas. The freeway crosses the Appalachian Mountains in Tennessee and North Carolina, before terminating in the Atlantic Coastal Plain near the Atlantic Ocean. Much of the western part of I-40, from Barstow to Oklahoma City, parallels or overlays the historic U.S. Route 66. East of Oklahoma City, the route generally parallels US 64 and US 70. I-40 was established by the Federal-Aid Highway Act of 1956, and the numbering was subsequently approved on August 14, 1957, along with most of the rest of the system. The eastern terminus was initially planned to be located at I-85 in Greensboro, but the Federal Highway Administration later approved extending the route to its current eastern terminus in Wilmington, North Carolina. As a result, this was the last segment of I-40 to be completed upon its dedication in 1990. Now William, unfortunately, the 9 has already passed, but you can still find a good card behind the Maps of States. Let's see what it is. (Audience Murmurs) However, there is an 8, so now, you have an important decision to make yourself, William. You can take the 8 for yourself and add that one of your hands, or you can pass that 8 over to one Shederick's hands, but word of warning: One of those hands will give Shederick the automatic win if you're not careful. But if you want, you can take the top card from Melissa's deck, or if you like, you can use your House Pass and pass that 8 over to the House. What are you going to do, William?
