Vivian Leigh (Audience Applause)She was born Frances Ethel Gumm on June 10, 1922 and came from a vaudeville family and was introduced to the stage at just two years old. Her first major impact on audiences happened with her third film, "Broadway Melody of 1938" in which she sang "Dear Mr Gable". She was then teamed with MGM's established child star, Mickey Rooney, and they made a lot of popular films in the Andy Hardy series. She was cast in "THE WIZARD OF OZ" (1939), in which she sang "Somewhere Over the Rainbow", the song with which she would always be associated. She won a special Oscar as "the best juvenile performer of the year" for the role which originally had been intended for Shirley Temple. (Audience Applause)That puts you at 18, and now, you have an important decision to make. You can keep going and choose another category off of the board, but if you that question correctly, the next card has to be a 3 or lower, or you can freeze right there at 18, and hopefully Nels doesn't get anywhere between 19 and 21. But if you want, you can use the "Freezing Question", and if you answer that question correctly, you'll force Nels to freeze and you'll be through to the Final Round to face-off against Shederick. However, if you go for the Freezing Question and you answer it incorrectly, you'll bust, and Nels will automatically go through to the Final Round. So what are you going to do William? Pick another category, Freeze at 18, or go for the Freezing Question?

You are going to take a chance and go for the Freezing Question! (Audience Applause)Now here's how the Freezing Question works. I'm going to ask the question and give you 4 choices, but this time, you have to use all 4 choices and put them in chronological order, and they all must be in their right places, and you're only going to have 1 chance to do so. Also, you will have 24 hours to put them in order, and we must accept your first response. If you're right, and you'll knock Nels out of the game and you'll be going to battle against Shederick in the final round in the first half of the show. Be careful, because if any of the choices are not in their right places, or if you run out of time, and you'll bust out of the game, and Nels will be going to face off against Shederick in the final round. If you're all clear with the instructions, here's the question, and good luck. Put these men in order of when they became the leaders of their nations, starting with the earliest.A. Fidel Castro B. Franklin Roosevelt C. Hirohito D. Mao Tse-tung William, your 24 hours starts now. Post your answer on the next post.

B. Franklin Roosevelt
D. Mao Tse-tung
A. Fidel CastroWilliam is correct, and that will force Nels to freeze at 0, which means that William is moving on to the Final Round! NELS | --GAMBIT-- | WILLIAM | 00 | ANY 21 JACKPOT SET AT: | 18 (WINNER!) | $25 | $1400 | $500 |
(Winning Bell SFX; Win Cue, Cheers and Applause)DK: Hirohito, posthumously honored as Emperor Shōwa, was the 124th emperor of Japan, reigning from 1926 until his death in 1989. Franklin Delano Roosevelt, commonly known as FDR, was an American statesman and politician who served as the 32nd president of the United States from 1933 until his death in 1945. Mao Zedong, also known as Chairman Mao, was a Chinese politician, political theorist, poet, and communist revolutionary who was the founder of the People's Republic of China, which he led as the chairman of the Chinese Communist Party from the establishment of the PRC in 1949 until his death in 1976. Fidel Alejandro Castro Ruz was a Cuban revolutionary and politician who was the leader of Cuba from 1959 to 2008, serving as the prime minister of Cuba from 1959 to 1976 and president from 1976 to 2008. So William, you took a chance by going for the Freezing Question, and it paid off! So not only you'll $50 per point in that round, or $900, but you'll also receive this prize as well! DK: Thanks, Dean! William, you've won $1,635 in cash and prizes in this round, and more importantly, you'll be facing off against Shederick in the final round, and I've heard word that we've got some surprises and twists in that final round, so we'll see you then. Nels...what can I say? William was a little quick on the buzzer, and he could've frozen at 18, but he decided to go for the Freezing Question, and had he gotten that wrong, and you would've moved on. That's what happens when you take a risk sometimes, and all you've won was $25. That's an insult. William and Shederick are in the Final Round, but only one of them will be moving on for the right to face off against our designated champion in the second half of our show, and to play our Gambit Plus Bonus Round along the way, but there's going to be a couple of twists in store that will make them change their strategy a little bit. (ASB cue plays; Audience Applause)Dean: And now, back to The Big Gambit Hour and Dayo Kayode!DK: Thank you, Dean! We're back and now, it is time for the exciting Final Round of the first half of the show, and we call this the Double Trouble Showdown! SHEDERICK | --GAMBIT-- | WILLIAM | --GAMBIT-- | ANY 21 JACKPOT SET AT: | --GAMBIT-- | $4280 | $1400 | $2135 |
Before we get to that though, let's do a quick recap on how our 2 finalists got here. Shederick has managed to achieve 21 from the Qualification Round and in the Intuition Mini-Bonus Game and has racked $4,280 in cash and prizes. William has frozen Nels out of the game from the Elimination Round and has achieved $2,135 in cash and prizes. And when this round is over, only one of you will earn the right to play against our designated champion in the second half of the show, but that player will take a quick pitstop at the Gambit Plus Bonus Round, but of course, this final round stands in your way, along with this. SHEDERICK
HAND 1: 00 HAND 2: 00 WILLIAM
HAND 1: 00 HAND 2: 00 As you can see, here we have a Blackjack Table on our video screen, BUT! You may also notice that you have TWO hands to play with. Yes, that's right. In this final round, not only are you going to be playing with 2 hands at the same time, but both of you will be playing against the House, hence why this final round is called the Double Trouble Showdown. Now, we're going to play just like the Elimination Round, but with many differences! You've already seen one of them, and another is that we're going to play this game from a Blackjack Variation game "Blackjack Switch", and we're also going to throw in some elements from another popular Blackjack game show: Catch 21! To those of you that don't know about Blackjack Switch, let me explain. A man called Geoff Hall patented this variation in 2009 and ever since, it has been gaining popularity. It is a multi-hand game in which you always play with two hands whose original bets have to be the same. However, what sets this variation apart from the rest of the multi-hand versions is the fact that you can switch cards between the two hands. This gives you the opportunity to improve the total in your hands or to avoid busting. Typically, the dealer is required to hit on soft 17 and the game is played with either six or eight decks. Doubling down is allowed after splitting and also, you can make this move on any two initial cards. In this version, you are given the opportunity to take advantage of the Super Match side bet which is optional. The rule thanks to which you can switch cards give you an incredible advantage over the casino. However, this is the reason why there are some other rules which are not so beneficial. Perhaps, the most disadvantageous one is the fact that blackjack pays out even money. Another major drawback for you is the fact that whenever the dealer has a hard twenty-two, the result is a tie, except for the cases in which you have a blackjack. Nevertheless, this variation has a fairly low house edge which ranges between 0.16% and 0.58%, depending on the exact rules. So, for this final round, we're going to play with a whopping six decks of playing cards, for a total of 312 cards, but since we're taking out 10 of them and putting them on our category board, that's a total of 302 cards. Now Shederick, since you've won the first round, the Qualification Round, you've got a series of advantages in this round. First of all, a team of lab rats from Tandem Technologies, a RANDOM.ORG company, has shuffled all 312 cards and cut the huge deck 5 times and has sealed them. Melissa has just unsealed them just as the commercial break has finished, and now, you will get to cut the deck only once to make things fair, so choose a number between 1 and 301 to determine how deep the cut is.

A good cut with confidence from Shederick. And with that final cut, the big deck is set! Now Shederick, you also got a couple more advantages! First, you now have the power to have an Ace as a 1...or an 11! HOWEVER! You are also playing against the House, and they will also have the power to have their Ace as a 1 or an 11. Second, since both you and William are going to play with two hands AND against the House, we're going to throw an element from Catch 21. You will each have a free card to start your two hands off with, but Shederick will determine the fates of the two hands both of you will start off with. Now Shederick, Melissa is going to show you two cards from the top of the deck; one card face-up and one card face-down. You will determine who gets which card. Melissa, bring out the first two cards. (Audience Oohs)Ooh, indeed. The known card is a Queen, and then there's the unknown card. Shederick, this is to determine the start of Hand #1. Who's going to get what, Shederick? It's your choice.

So you are going to take the Queen, which I'm not surprised... But what card is William going to get for his first hand? Melissa, reveal the unknown card. (Audience Oohs)Well, well, well! William gets a 10, so both players start off with a 10 for their first hand. SHEDERICK:
HAND 1: 10 HAND 2: 00 WILLIAM:
HAND 1: 10 HAND 2: 00 Now, we're going to do it again, but this time, to start their second hand, and once again Shederick, you will get to decide who gets which card to start off their second hand. Melissa, bring out the next two cards, if you please. The known card is a 9, and then there's the unknown card. Shederick, which card do you want? Remember, this is the starting card for Hand #2.

You are going to take the unknown card this time. Melissa, what is it? Ooh, it's a 3 this time, so William gets the 9. SHEDERICK:
HAND 1: 10 HAND 2: 3 WILLIAM:
HAND 1: 10 HAND 2: 9 Now each of our players have a free card to start their two hands, but let's not forget... SHEDERICK:
HAND 1: 10 HAND 2: 3 WILLIAM:
HAND 1: 10 HAND 2: 9 HOUSE'S HAND: you both are playing against the House, but the House doesn't any cards to start with, and I'm going to explain about that in just a moment. Now, here's how the final round, the Double Trouble Showdown works. First of all, we've got 9 new categories on the board, and they are... OPERA | POP MUSIC | MAPS OF STATES | TAKE A LETTER | REDHEADS | BIOS | THE U.N. | WILD WEST | FUNNY MEN | --GAMBIT-- | <<LAST CHANCE>> | --GAMBIT-- |
Opera, Pop Music, Maps of States, Take A Letter, Redheads, Biographies, The United Nations, Wild West, Funny Men, and of course, the Last Chance Wild Card category. Now to clarify a few things. In Maps of States, it's a visual category and Take a Letter is where I'm going to give you the first letter of the correct answer before I ask the question, but that particular question is NOT multiple-choice, so keep that in mind. Now, this plays just like in the Elimination Round, but there's a lot more strategy to it, so I suggest you listen carefully. Now if answer a question this time, not only we're going to show the card behind the category like usual, but now you will have to decide on whether to take that card to any ONE of your hands, OR you can pass that card to one of your opponent's hands in the hopes of making their hand a little bit worse, OR you take the top card from the deck. If you can take the top card from the deck, you can take that card for yourself and add that to one of your hands, OR you can pass that card over to the House, BUT! You can only pass a card to the House ONCE, and ONLY ONCE, so use it wisely. Now here is where things get a little more interesting: The Switch. Once you get a card to one of your hands, AND assuming that one of your hands don't bust, AND knowing that you are in control after answering a question correctly, you have the option to switch cards between the two hands. This gives you the opportunity to improve the total in your hands or to avoid busting. Be careful, though. Each of you have 3 Switches, and you cannot switch cards if you are NOT in control, so use them wisely. Now, both of you no longer have the Freezing Question, but you still have the option to freeze, but be careful. In order for you to freeze, you must get a card for yourself and add that to one of your hands, and when freezing, you are freezing BOTH of your hands at the same time. For the other player who hasn't frozen, you still have to answer each question correctly in order to gain more cards for your hand, and you can only freeze when one of your hands is better than BOTH of your opponents' hands. Miss one question, and you will be frozen right where you are, but that doesn't mean it's over for you. Remember, both of you are playing against the House, where regular Blackjack rules will apply here. The House must hit on 16 or lower and must stay on 17 or higher. In order to win the game, you must beat BOTH your opponent AND the House with the highest hand out of the two without going over 21. You will also automatically win the game if any one of your hands total exactly 21, which means that having a Blackjack is now possible for Shederick, and just a quick reminder, the Any 21 Jackpot is now at: SHEDERICK | --GAMBIT-- | WILLIAM | SWITCHES: 3 HOUSE PASS: 1 FREEZE: 1 | ANY 21 JACKPOT SET AT: | SWITCHES: 3 HOUSE PASS: 1 FREEZE: 1 | $4280 | $1400 | $2135 |
(Bell Clangs)$1,400, and will continue to grow with each card played. Whoever wins the game will earn $100 per point to the winning highest hand, and if that player's second hand survives, it'll be $75 per point. The runner-up will get $50 per point for their highest hand, and if their second hand survives, it's $25 per point. But there's also a possibility that either the House beats both of you or if you both bust both of your hands, and when any one of those scenarios occur, we'll then decide the winner with a Sudden Death question. Now, the winner of the first half of the show will receive a very nice prize, a $2,000 cash bonus... one of our Gambit Power Chips for you to take to the Gambit Deluxe Board at the end of the show if you're lucky to make it that far... ...the right to face against our designated champion in the second half of the show, and a trip to the Gambit Plus Bonus Round for a chance to Beat the Dealer and win cash and prizes worth over $50,000! (Audience Cheers and Applause)So, if we're all clear with the rules, let's get the battle commence!
