Correct! Who writes these puzzles? (chuckling) This is an all important hand now, every decision pivotal. First card for your consideration Raymond is... A Jack. Do you want to keep that for yourself, place it in the middle as the "common" card, or give it to Immanuel?

I’m going to keep it.

The Jack is yours, next card for you to decide on A seven. Do you wish to put that in the middle as the common card, giving you a 7 to a Jack split, or do you wish to pass it to Immanuel?

Very well, and now the all important common card: OH WOW! A Queen! A very tight squeeze for you Raymond, Immanuel a bit more of a spread for you a 7 to a Queen split. Toss up for control of the next card.....a biggie! What "G" connects these 2 split words? MACHINE and CABINET Raymond you're in first again and have until 1:25pm EST on Tuesday, January 31st to post your answer.

Gun it is! Raymond, if you elect to keep the next card, it will have to be another Jack or another Queen for you to win, otherwise you will bust. You do have the option to pass the card over to Immanuel, the cards 7 through Queen will win for him, Ace through 6 plus any King will lose for him. Do you keep the next card for yourself Raymond, or pass to Immanuel and try to bust him?

Yes with only 2 possible cards helping you, I'd do the same thing... I'mmanuel, if this card we turn up between your 7 and Queen is a fit, you will win game #1 of this match. If not, game one goes to Raymond. And the card is... (buzzer) a SIX, NOT a fit! And game one goes to Raymond! That was quite an exciting first game players! Immanuel you ALMOST pulled it out! Raymond Weaver has $675 and the lead in the match. Immanuel Tims has $200 thus far. And we have...a commercial! Game 2 with a brand new deck of cards, and more challenging puzzles, right after these words of interest!

(fade into applause) We had a very fun filled and exciting first game of this match. Let's see how game #2 goes. Raymond took game number one 3 hands to 2. Immanuel, let's see if you can even it up. Immanuel, since you lost game #1, we will again ask you to cut this newly and freshly shuffled deck of 54 cards by selecting a number higher than 0 but lower than 54 please.

The cards are cut for game #2, and we're off and running. To gain control of the deck, what "B" links the split up words... MOSQUITO and SIZE? Immanuel you rang in first and will have until 6:20am EST on Wednesday, February 1st to post your answer.

I have been on the receiving end of many a mosquito bite in my day. And with that correct answer Immanuel, you now are the recipient of the next 3 cards that you'll need to place. First card... A Jack. Do you want to keep that one for yourself, give it to Raymond, or put it in the middle as the common card Immanuel?

(some gasps of surprise from the gallery) Giving away a pretty good card potentially there... Let's see how it goes. Next card... Is a six. Do you want that for yourself or place it in the center as the common card?

Giving Raymond a Jack to a six split... And Immanuel for you, your split will be a six to... OOOOOHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!! Yipes Stripes! Another very TIGHT spread! Next toss up for control of the cards. What "S" connects these two split words? GRADE & PRINCIPAL... Immanuel, you're in first again. You have until 5:50pm EST on Wednesday, February 1st to post your answer.

School!

|
Post by billmcdee on Jan 30, 2023 17:54:55 GMT -5
School is correct. Immanuel, if you keep the next card, it has to be either another six or another seven to fit your split, otherwise you will bust. Or you can pass the card to Raymond and hope you can bust him. He will win if the next card is another six, 7, 8, 9, 10 or another Jack. Do you keep the next card or pass it Immanuel?

I'll pass it, Bill.

If the card I turn up is anything from a six to a Jack, Raymond wins $200 and leads 1 hand to 0. Anything else, and Immanuel, you'll get $200 and win this hand. The card is... O another Jack, but that's a winner! Raymond takes hand #1. Unfortunately that strategy of giving away the first Jack backfired that time. But we're starting with hand #2 now, $175 for the winner of this hand. For control of the deck, what Q connects with the split words... DRAG and BEE? Immanuel is in first once again and you will have until 6:30pm EST on Wednesday, February 1st to post your answer.

Queen!
|
|
|
Post by billmcdee on Jan 31, 2023 2:31:45 GMT -5
That's what it says here on my card too! Now you're perhaps hoping to GET a queen... First card this time for you to place Immanuel is... An eight. Are you keeping it, giving it to Raymond or placing it in the center as the common card Immanuel?
|
|
|
Post by babytims on Jan 31, 2023 9:05:14 GMT -5
Ooh boy. Let’s make it common please.

|
|
Post by billmcdee on Jan 31, 2023 17:27:05 GMT -5
(muttering from the audience) A rather interesting move to say the least. Very well, the 8 will be the common card shared by you and Raymond. I might have given that away, but it may work out. Next card up... A Queen. Do you keep that card Immanuel or give it to Raymond? An 8 to a Queen split means 5 cards will win while 8 cards will mean a bust.

Oh don't melt just yet! Like I said this may still work out. And as my dear Mother used to tell me at times during my life "Live and learn." Queen to an 8 split for Raymond, and Immanuel your split will be an 8 to a... 2! So a 7 card split there for you. For control of the deciding card... What M fills in the split between... SILENT and STAR? Immanuel, you're in first yet again. Your answer is needed no later than 6pm EST on Thursday, February 2nd.
