(Matt rolls)(audience cheers; a few "woahs") And it's a 6 -- safe roll. Up to 1700. Wanna bank or roll again?

(scattered cheers) Banking the money and roughly doubling your score. (ding)Matt, you now have $3300. Bill, if you win this question, there's a possible rethink of your strategy. Unless Bill banks $1700 here in Round 6, the catch-up round will follow. Here's your Round 6 question. Jeff Burton, Tim Burton or Ward Burton. Which one directed the 1989 movie "Batman"? 22 billmcdee (diff: 06) 08 mringgenberg (diff: 08) 16 randomizer.org(Bill buzzes in)Bill?

It *was* Tim Burton, Bill. (audience applause) The other Burtons have raced in the world of NASCAR. Please take your free roll. (Bill rolls) All right, got an 8 for $800. If you banked now, you'd have one chance to pick up an additional $900 in the catch-up round. So -- bank or roll?

(Bill rolls) (scattered cheers) You may open your eyes now, Bill. Another 8 doubled up the pot to $1600. If you banked now, you'd only be down by $100 going into the catch-up round. Even though it would be a slim deficit, there's no guarantee you'd actually gain more than $100 in the catch-up round. So -- think it over -- and tell me if you want to bank the 1600 or roll again? (audience shouts suggestions)

(scattered cheers) Exactly doubling up the money in your bank. Catch-Up Round: billmcdee mringgenberg (tones sound)And there it is -- the signal for the start of the catch-up round. Bill, you'll roll first. Matt, if necessary, you'll roll will follow Bill's. Unless you find free or extra rolls on the double decision board, one roll is all you get -- and the roll's value is immediately added to your bank. Big thing to keep in mind -- especially for Bill right now -- a 7 will still end the round in a bust. You don't lose money since there's no pot in this round -- but you don't gain anything either. There will also be payoffs of $100 and less on the double decision board -- as we give it a reshuffle. (amounts are shuffled on the double decision board; after shuffling stops, the amounts are covered immediately with the doubles)And -- I don't think we've had a double decision at all in this match. Have we? In any event, Bill, just avoid a 7 or any sub-$100 prize on the double decision board and you're still in business. Otherwise, Matt wins and we play a tie-breaker game. When you're ready, please take your catch-up roll. (Bill, number from 1-100, please.)

(Doug in pre-recorded audio as contestant plug cue plays)Do you think you have what it takes to win the million? Call our Hot Dice contestant hotline at 1-800-555-DICE -- or visit TraxProductions.net/dice.(audience applauds) Challenger Bill McDee so far has won $7400. Champion Matt Ringgenberg has thus far collected $4200 in the two games we've played. But this is the rubber game of the match. (ding)Again, we start from scratch -- although the aforementioned monies you still get to keep. Matt and Bill, in the tie-breaker game, we only play three rounds and a catch-up round. So every toss-up question and every roll of the dice is crucial. One wrong answer or one bust could prove to be the difference in resolving this match. Winner of this last game takes the match -- and two gold coins to the Bonus Bonanza. Which came first: NFL Network or MLB Network? 33 billmcdee 59 mringgenberg 84 randomizer.org(Matt buzzes in)Matt?

NFL Network debuted in 2003. MLB Network started in 2009. You're right. (audience applause) First free roll of the tie-breaker is yours, Matt. (Matt rolls)(scattered groans) Annnd -- we seem to pick up where we left off on the dice rolls. A small beginning for $300. Bank the 300 or roll again?

Post by dougmorrisontheair on Mar 2, 2015 22:16:44 GMT -5
(Matt rolls)(doubles cue; audience cheers)Double 2. Indeed, this is the first double decision of the match. It could be a crucial one. Matt, you could play this roll normally and have us add $400 to the pot... ...or go to the double 2 screen on the double decision board and hope for something worth more than $400. There could be something great in that screen -- such as thousands of dollars -- or something not so great -- such as $100 or less or even a bust. Think it over carefully -- and then please tell us your double decision. (audience shouts suggestions)

You're either tired of rolling puny numbers or you feel a bust coming on. In any event... (ding)...Matt's on the board first in this tie-breaker game with $900. Round 2 question goes something -- like this. You're eating a bowl of rice at Texas-based Rice University. Are you in the city of El Paso, Fort Worth or Houston? 45 billmcdee 80 mringgenberg 07 randomizer.org(Bill buzzes in)Bill?

Houston is right, Bill. (audience applause) Your first free roll in the tie-breaker comes now. Roll 'em, please. (Bill rolls)(audience groans) And snake eyes on the free roll. As you know, Bill, there's no double decision on the free roll to guarantee we seed the pot -- and seed a new pot with $200. I think I know the answer -- but I have to ask. Bank the 200 clams or roll again?
