Bill -- your cousin's motorhead days served you well. It's true. (audience applause) Take your free roll, please. (Bill rolls)And it's a 6 for 600. Bill, you could rack up 60 billion dollars in this round -- but there would still be at least one way Matt can catch up to you in the catch-up round. So -- bank the 600 or roll again? (audience shouts suggestions)

(Bill rolls)(bust cue; audience groans) With a roll like that, a payoff of 60 billion *double* dollars is out of the question. (scattered laughter from the crowd) (tones sound)Now that our nod to "Trigun" is complete, it's time for the catch-up round. Matt, since you're trailing, you'll get one roll of the dice. If necessary, Bill rolls. Unless you find extra rolls on the double decision board, you get one and only one roll of the dice in this round. The value of the roll is immediately added to your bank. The player who ends this round in the lead wins the game and a gold coin. You *could* find free rolls on the double decision board -- but a 7 is still a bust roll in this round. You don't lose anything since there's no pot -- but you don't gain anything either. Now, the double decision board is still active and we need to reshuffle it. (amounts are shuffled on the double decision board; after shuffling stops, the amounts are covered immediately with the doubles)All right, the extra rolls are now in place. One space up there, Matt, will literally tie the game and give you an extra roll. Others give you money and an extra roll. But there are spaces that only pay out $50 or $100. So anything can still happen. But in order for something to happen, you have to roll a double. Anything other than a double means Bill wins Game 1. Matt, when you're ready, please take your catch-up roll. (Matt, number from 1-100 please.)

(Matt rolls)(audience groans)A 5. It will put $500 in your bank -- but it's not enough. Bill wins Game 1. (dings; audience applause)Bill, congratulations. You're $3900 and one gold coin richer. Win one more game and you become the new champ. Matt, you do keep the $500 -- but you need to win the next two games in a row to return to the Bonus Bonanza. Matt's done that before. Can he do it again or will Bill win the match in a sweep? Find out what happens when Hot Dice comes right back. (commercial cue plays; audience applauds)

(ding) Matt and Bill, all the money you banked in Game 1 is in a nice safe place. We start Game 2 with empty banks -- and this -- uh -- question that borders on the disgusting. For those of you eating something at home, might want to put down your food as we start this round. But the next 7 in this round is a bust. So -- bank the $700 -- or try to take the lead and roll again? (audience shout suggestions)

(audience applause) Banking the 1600. And with that... (ding)...Matt enjoys the lead for the first time in the match. Key is he must lead by the time the game's over to force a third and deciding game. On to Round 3 and this question. (scattered groans) It's true we've had a good numbers of sevens. So with Bill's quick bank... (ding)...we have a tie ballgame at 1600. We're quickly up to Round 4 and this question. (Matt rolls) (scattered groans and laughs) And gadzooks -- another 7 on the free roll. That does seed the pot with $700. But the next 7 in this round makes this a tie game going in Round 5. (Matt rolls) (bust cue; audience groans)Oh no! We know 7's the easiest sum to roll on a pair of dice. But, sheesh. Well -- Round 5 -- still tied at 1600. We're nearing the end of this game. Control of the dice is crucial. Here's your next toss-up question. Cliff's sister, Sue Ellen's sister or Val's sister. (Matt rolls)(audience cheers) Great free roll from Matt. The yo-leven for $1100. Would you like to bank the 11 -- or roll and avoid the 7? (audience shouts suggestions)
