That's it. (audience applause) "The Daily Show" debuted in 1996. "The Nightly Show" started just a few weeks ago. Both come on at night. Go fig? Anyhoo, roll 'em, please, Matt. (Matt rolls) All right -- a 7. You can't bust on a free roll. So we seed the first pot of the final game with $700. The next 7 in this round will result in a bust. So -- bank the 700 or roll again? (audience shouts suggestions)

No, it was Simple Simon who met the pieman going to the fair. That means the dice are hot for Matt again. Matt, please take your free roll. (Matt rolls) (audience cheers)And -- can't ask for a better free roll than that -- boxcars for $1200. Matt, want to bank the dozen bills or roll again? (audience shouts suggestions)

Before you roll, I should've clarified there's no double decision to make on the free roll -- just like there's no way you can bust on the freebie. With that, please roll. (Matt rolls) (scattered cheers) And that five brings the pot up to $1700. Roll again or bank? (audience shouts suggestions)

Can't we start the catch-up round already?
I'll try Reinhold.

Bad news, we can't start the catch-up round yet. The good news is -- Judge Reinhold is right! (audience cheers)Judge Reinhold is the actual first and last name of an actor. He was a cast member from "Beverly Hills Cop". By the way, Judge *Jerry* Sheindlin was on the bench for nearly two seasons on "The People's Court" and is the husband of the much more famous Judge Judy Sheindlin. Judge Joseph Wapner, of course, started it all -- and presided over a case on the current version of the series -- ahead of earning his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. All right, Clément, please take your free roll. (Clément rolls)OK, starting off with an 8 for $800. Clément, remember, if you bank exactly $1700 in this round, we play one tie-breaker question to determine the championship. Bust or bank any amount other than $1700 -- and the catch-up round immediately starts. So -- wanna bank and start the catch-up round now -- or risk it all and roll again? (audience shouts suggestions)

(Clément rolls) (scattered cheers and gasps) Another 8. Close to the bust. Pot doubles to $1600. Bank now and you'll only be down by $100 in the catch-up round. Or you could roll and possibly take the lead later. What do you do? (audience shouts suggestions)

(Clément rolls)(bust cue; audience groans)Ohhh -- 'fraid that really was "one more" in this round. (tones sound)And with that, now it's catch-up time. Clément, you'll get to roll first. Matt, if necessarily, you'll get to roll and take back your lead. Clément, you're well aware you need to roll a double to stay in business -- and you need to have that double to give you at least $1700. Anything less than a $1700 roll -- and Matt retains his championship. When you're ready, Clément, please take your catch-up roll. (Clément, number from 1-100.)

(Clément rolls)(audience groans)We'll ice your cake, Clément, with $500 -- but Matt wins the match. Round 3: CCSCO mringgenberg(dings; audience cheers)Matt, congratulations. Another $1700 for you. We'll total up your winnings and get you ready for the Bonus Bonanza. Clément -- gosh -- how can we say you lost? $500 from this game -- added to your earlier winnings -- grand total of $12,700. (audience cheers)You take that all that money along with some fine gifts and our great thanks for making this a match we won't soon forget. Folks, one more big hand for Clément Couvreur. (audience cheers)Matt Ringgenberg, ever since we adopted match play on Hot Dice, this has got to be the most amount of money a winning player has banked. $19,500 for the match. Grand total ahead of your third Bonus Bonanza... ...$106,900. (audience cheers) And when we come back, Matt, you'll have another shot at $1,000,000. Considering how this match went, I wouldn't bet against him. We're back after this. (commercial cue plays; audience applauds)

We're back -- and so is Matt Ringgenberg. He's $106,900 to the good -- with perhaps much more to follow in the Bonus Bonanza.
Matt, as you know, the bonanza starts with one free roll of the dice. This time, it's worth $250 a point instead of $100 a point.
When you're ready -- be our guest.
(Matt, number from 1-100, please.)

(Matt rolls)(audience applause)Starting off with a 6 -- times $250 for $1500. Matt, as you know, the stakes are higher -- and so are the dangers. In the match, the only bust roll was a 7. Here in the Bonus Bonanza, we have three bust rolls -- 5, 7 and 9. Roll any of those sums and you lose everything in the pot. Plus it's game over. The double decision board is now active. Three of those screens hide different amounts of money -- from $25,000 all the way up to $100,000. The other three screens hide busts. If you go to the board and find money, we put that much money in the pot -- and then replace that cash prize with $1,000,000. (audience cheers)Find a bust on the board -- and it's game over and you lose everything in the pot. Or does it really mean game over and a loss of money? I have these -- the two gold coins you earned in the match. These are now yours. Anytime you run into a bust situation, you must surrender a coin and roll again. Bust with no coins -- and *then* you'll have no money and the game's over. So -- you've got $1500 to start. Want to bank this money and call it a night -- or risk it all and roll again?

(Matt rolls)(scattered groans) Oh, a 9. One of the bust rolls. I've got to take a gold coin away. Dice are back to you. You must roll again. (Matt rolls)(scattered cheers) OK -- better than rolling another bust sum. The 3 keeps you in business with another $1500. You may stop here and bank $6000 -- or risk it all and roll again? (audience shouts suggestions)

Rollin' again. Let's see if ya get a double here. (Matt rolls)(audience cheers)No double -- but the yo-leven nearly doubles the pot to $11,500. You have a five-figure pot -- but you can only bank the money after a safe roll. And the 11's certainly safe. I'll allow you to stop here and bank $11,500 more -- or you may risk it all on another roll of the dice. What do you want to do? (audience shouts suggestions)

(Matt rolls)(doubles cue; audience cheers)Woah boy! Double decision time in the Bonus Bonanza. Matt, we could play this normally and add $3000 to the pot -- all of which you may bank soon thereafter... ...or you may go to the double 3 screen on the board and hope for a much better payoff. If there's money in that screen, we'll put that much in the pot -- and then replace that payoff with $1,000,000. (audience cheers)However, if you go to the double 3 screen and we find a bust there, I have to take away your last coin and you have to roll again -- putting $11,500 at risk. (scattered woos from the crowd) Think this over. Want to play it safe and make this roll worth $3000 -- or do you want to take a chance and go to the double 3 screen? (audience shouts suggestions)
