Could you get a little more excited next time? (audience laughs) $8600 in your bank. (audience cheers)(ding) (tones sound) We're going to have to check the record books -- but I think $8750 is the record for most money banked in one game. Clément Couvreur, I'm certain $8600 is the most anyone's banked in one *round* of Hot Dice. (audience cheers)Now then -- (tones sound) -- yes, I know it's time for the catch-up round, Mr. Sound Effects Man! (scattered laughter from the crowd) I heard you the first time. Matt, since you're trailing, you'll get one roll of the dice. If necessary, Clément will roll. Unless you find extra rolls on the double decision board, you get one and only one roll of the dice in this round. The value of the roll is immediately added to your bank. The player who ends this round in the lead wins the game and that sought-after gold coin. Now it's important to keep in mind there are no free rolls -- which means a 7 is still a bust sum in this round. You don't lose anything since there's no pot -- but you don't gain anything either. This also means the double decision board is still active and we need to reshuffle it. (amounts are shuffled on the double decision board; after shuffling stops, the amounts are covered immediately with the doubles)All right, the extra rolls are now in place. There's also a "double your score" space. So anything can still happen. Matt, mathematics say you have to avoid rolling a 7. If you roll snake eyes, we'd have to default to the double decision board. When you're ready, please take your catch-up roll. (Matt, number from 1-100 please.)

(Matt rolls)(bust cue; loud groans from the crowd) Oh no! The one combination you didn't want and you rolled it! Sorry, Matt. Clément, you've won the game! (dings; audience applause)Well -- what can I say? Just when you were thinking "ballgame" at the end of Round 5, Clément pulls off the comeback of the year. To reiterate, Clément does get to keep all the money he banked in this game. Matt, same goes for the $8300 you banked in this game. Total winnings for Matt, by the way, have just exceeded $95,000. (audience cheers)When we start Game 2, we start with fresh banks. Come back to see if Clément can win the match in a sweep -- or Matt can force a tie-breaker game -- here on Hot Dice. (commercial cue plays; audience applauds)

(audience cheers)Banking $3100. (ding)Matt leads early in this game. He's looking to win this game to send this match with Clément to a tie-breaker game. Round 2 question deals with a little TV trivia. Pikachu from "Pokémon" or Denny Crane from "Boston Legal". Based on their shows' scripts, which TV character says his name more often? 45 CCSCO 39 mringgenberg 29 randomizer.org (Matt buzzes in)Matt?

That's right -- because that's about all he says. (audience applause) He says "Pikachu" or a combination of syllables in his name. Denny often says his first and last name -- but also speaks fluent English. (Matt rolls) Matt takes his free roll and starts off with an 8 for $800. Wanna bank or wanna roll?
