This time, Vincent says thirty-six thousand one hundred seventy dollars is the price of that car...
(ding)
Has Vincent won it this time around?
(ding ding ding ding ding ding ding ding ding ding ding ding ding ding ding ding ding ding ding ding ding)
He has! (audience cheers and applause)
Now THAT ladies and gentlemen is how you play Master Price! (I shake Vincent's hand)
Very well done, sir! Was there any special reason you kept the 6 and the 7 and discarded the 2 that time or was it just a pure guess?

Well, a fantastic guess it was, Vincent! Congratulations! (audience applauds)
I think I probably know the answer to this already, but the rules state I must ask...
Would you like to risk that car and play another pricing game?

I figured that's what you'd say and who's to blame you with about an eight-thousand-dollar lead for first place!
(music begins and audience begins applauding)
Our thanks to William Low for being on the show today, but it will be Vincent and I along with Bill Skinner who will be back shortly for today's playoff pricing game which will determine whether it's Vincent or Bill who becomes the champ and play for perhaps more than $40,000 in the bonus pricing game!
We'll have that playoff game right after we have this! (continued music and applause and then we fade to black)

(fade in with music and applause)
Burton Richardson: "Some members of our studio audience will receive...
...the Leadleds DC 12V LED Window Sign Board. Attract customers with easy-to-read scrolling messages using this programmable LED sign board. The handy remote control comes with 99 pre-programmed messages and space to store up to 10 custom messages. Rotate the viewing screen up to 360° to increase visibility and customer impact. It's a great tool for business advertising on cars, taxis, food services, retail shops and other public places!
And now, here's Glen Brown with our Rat Race-Off!"
Thank you Burton!
I'm here with Mr. Vincent Easter and Mr. Bill Skinner and gentlemen, you've both done quite well for yourselves so far! Bill, you've won three nice prizes including that brand new Hyundai and some cash and you are in second place right now with more than twenty-eight thousand dollars! (audience applauds)
Vincent, you played Master Price and won that classic Land Cruiser like a Master Pricer and you're our leader with more than thirty-six thousand dollars! (audience applauds)
Those prizes are yours to keep fellers, but now we're going to find out which one of you moves on for a shot at a whole lot more cash in your pocket! On The New Price is Right, we determine that by running our rat race! Now, in recent years, this has become a popular pricing game on the original daytime version of the show, but here, we play it slightly differently.
Vincent, as the top winner, you will have the opportunity to control as many as 3 of these rats -- one we'll give you for free and the other two, you'll have a chance to earn. Bill, as the runner-up, you'll have a chance at controlling 2 rats -- one for free and one you can earn. As you might have guessed, whichever one of you controls the rat who finishes best in the race wins the game and advances to our bonus pricing game!
Now, we have some cash involved in this game as well. If your rat finishes first, you win $5,000. If your rat finishes second, you win $3,000. If your rat finishes third, you win $2,000.
So Vincent, you'll have a shot at the entire total of $10,000 if you control 3 rats and they finish first, second and third. Bill, in your case, you could get up to $8,000 if you control 2 rats and they finish first and second. Of course, the worst-case scenario would be that neither of you earns a rat and your freebie rats each finish 4th and 5th respectively, in which case, neither of you would win any money, but whoever was controlling the rat that finished 4th would be the playoff winner.
That's how we play our Rat Race-Off, gents -- any questions from either of you before we get the game underway?

Excellent, well as top winner Vincent, you get to choose your free rat first from all 5 available rats. Bill, once Vincent has chosen his rat, you may choose your freebie from the remaining 4 rats.
Vincent, please pick a rat, any rat!

Well, if the blue or the pink rat wins the race, we already have a playoff winner, but let's see if we can't increase your chances with those other 3 rats.
The lovely Camille has some items over here and Vincent, you will get the first shot at another rat using this first item -- what is that item please, Burton?
Burton Richardson: "Add some zesty flavor to your next barbecue with this ten-ounce jar of delicious relish!"
Vincent, we'll give you another rat if you can give us the price of that relish within one dollar above or below its actual retail price.
What do you think Vincent -- how much is that relish?

Well done, you missed it by only sixty-one cents!
Choose another rat please, Vincent.

The yellow rat is yours, Vincent.
Bill, let's see if we can get you another rat as well using this item...
Burton Richardson: "This 5 oz APMEX Silver bar has a deep-mirror, proof-like finish and is guaranteed .999 fine. The classic American eagle design adds an iconic beauty on top of the bullion content."
Bill, please tell me the price of that silver within ten dollars high or low and you can claim either the orange or green rat!

I think the second small prize is hardest to price in this game! That said, I'm going to take a wild guess and say $70.

Seventy bucks for five ounces of silver sounds about right to me. Let's see that price tag, please!
(ding ding ding ding ding ding ding)
See Bill, this ain't hard, it's a piece of cake for you! (audience chuckles)
There are two rats available, sir -- which would you like?

Alright, one unclaimed rat remaining and it's yours Vincent if you know enough about the price of this item...
Burton Richardson: "With the coolest licensed body styles, proportional controls, full suspension and sound effects, the Nikko brand of remote control trucks deliver the best performance on or off-road! Frequency hopping technology lets you race with up to 40 friends at one time!"
I want to stop tape and go out into the parking lot here and play with that right now! (audience chuckles)
Vincent, to win that and the last rat, please tell me its price within one hundred dollars high or low.

Vincent says a hundred bucks for that remote control truck -- what is the price, please?
(bzzzzzzzzzzzz)
Yeah, I was a little worried you'd guessed too low on that one.
Okay, so it's two rats a piece then. Bill wins the playoff if either the blue or orange rat wins the race, Vincent wins if the pink or yellow rat takes it.
Good luck gentlemen and may the best rat win!
On your mark...
Get set...
GO!
Oh my goodness Vincent, you literally lost by a nose! (audience groans and awwwwwws)
Can I get our director to put up a still frame close-up of that finish on our monitors here please
so that we can get a good shot of that?
Look at that! Can you believe that!?! You literally cannot get closer to a tie than that -- the pink rat was in the process of crossing the line, but the nose of the blue rat touched it first! (audience gasps and awwwws)
So that means Bill Skinner wins the Rat Race-Off! (audience cheers and applauds)
Oh boy, at the start there, I figured you were going to run away with it Vincent with your yellow rat having such a huge lead, but it tuckered out around that second bend there and wound up coming in third.
The poor green rat -- I guess his color is an indication of his health at the moment -- he needs to retire, I think. (audience chuckles)
Well Vincent, it's not all bad here. Although this is the end of the line for you, in addition to everything you've already won, both of your rats finished in the money -- $3,000 for second place and $2,000 for third, which adds another $5,000 to your total winnings and you are leaving us with...
...forty-one thousand one hundred seventy dollars in cash and prizes! (audience cheers and applauds)
I hope you enjoyed yourself here on The New Price is Right.
Is there anything you'd like to say Vincent before we wish you a fond farewell?

Enjoy your prizes Vincent and it was a pleasure having you on the show! A round of applause for Mr. Vincent Easter, ladies and gentlemen! (audience cheers and applauds as Vincent exits the stage)
Well Bill, you were here at the start and you're here at the end as well and it looks like you're sticking around for a while, thanks to that blue rat eating that one extra bite of cheese this morning! (audience chuckles)
You're our inaugural champion and you'll be defending your title on our next show against two more contestants!
You've also increased your total winnings -- you picked up five thousand dollars for that rat winning the race plus that five-ounce bar of silver as well, so you're total is now at...
...thirty-three thousand eight hundred fifty-three dollars in cash and prizes! (audience cheers and applauds)
But hold on a second, we're not done yet, Bill! We have one more pricing game to play and if you play it well enough, we might add more than forty grand to that total of yours! (audience applauds)
Are you ready to play that bonus pricing game, Bill?

Well, things have certainly gone your way thus far and hopefully that trend continues!
(theme begins to play and audience applauds)
Bill will try to more than double his total winnings in our bonus pricing game! We'll get to that right after we see about this! (music and applause continues as we fade to black)

Welcome back to The New Price is Right! I am here with our champion, Mr. Bill Skinner, and we are standing next to the infamous "3 Strikes" game which has been around for more than 40 years, but today Bill, you're going to play it slightly differently than it's ever been played before. First of all, we're not playing for a car, we're playing for the amount of bonus cash you might win and let me show you the numbers that will make up that amount of cash. We have a one... ...and there's a two... ...we have a three... ...and a four... ...and finally, a zero and into the bag they go. (I place those chips in the bag) Unfortunately, as per usual, we can't play this game without a strike... ...so into the bag that goes as well. (I place the strike in the bag and then mix them all up) Now Bill, here's how we play "3 Strikes" on The New Price is Right: On the board right now, you see the words even and odd and you see arrows pointing in either direction. Unlike a daytime playing of this game where the price of the prize is already determined, you are going to set your own value in terms of how much money you'll win, depending on what chips you pull out of this bag and where you place them on the board.
There are only two basic rules that you have to follow in terms of filling in the amount of cash:
The first is that you can only place even numbers in the three even squares on the board and you can only place odd numbers in the two odd squares on the board. The second rule is that you must fill in the numbers in one of two ways -- starting with the first number and moving left to right or starting with the last number and moving right to left.
The only other rule is the same rule as always -- draw three strikes before you fill in all the numbers and we'll hear those dreaded losing horns!
Now, depending on what number you draw out of the bag, you may or may not be able to place it on the board or perhaps, you may choose not to. Let me give you some examples:
Let's say you start by drawing the 3 out of the bag. Since you must fill in the numbers either left to right or right to left, you can't start with an odd number, so you'd have to put that 3 back in the bag and try again. It would be the same thing if you drew the 1 first.
As another example, let's say you start by drawing the 2 out of the bag. Since that is an even number, you could place it on the board as either the first or last number. If you did that though, you'd be losing out in winnings, since the best possible amount you could win here that would comply with the even-odd-even-odd-even rule is $43,210.
So, in the case of drawing the 2 first, you could place that as the last digit and shoot for a payout of $43,012 or I suppose you could place it as the first digit and try for $23,410 or you could choose to drop the 2 back into the bag if you wanted to try for the maximum amount.
So ideally, you're hoping that your first draw is either the 0 or the 4 so that you can keep the largest payout in play.
Does all that make sense, Bill? Any questions before we proceed?

(NOTE: I will be using Random.org with the digits 0 through 5 to simulate the chip drawing, with the 5 being the strike).
Alright, good luck to you, Bill! Reach in there and let's hope you pull out that 4 or that 0 for a good start!! (audience cheers)
