If it's variety you are looking for, this is the show for you!
The roll of the dice will determine the games for each segment -- we'll go from a survey question, to a hand of Blackjack, to a word puzzle, to a horse race and maybe even a Rat Race! As the name would suggest, contestants play these games to earn themselves enough money to purchase passes to elevate themselves to the next level. The first contestant to reach the top level and land on the Win! space on the board wins the game along with a potential jackpot bonus that grows as the game goes along. Card games, puzzle games, pricing games -- we'll play 'em all on Elevation!
I need two players, please.

Okay, we have our two players, thank you gentlemen. I have a few things to finish off before I'm ready with this, so the show will begin sometime on Monday.

(fade in to a mostly dark, silhouetted set) (Timpani drum roll) (set slowly begins to illuminate)
Shadoe Stevens: "Today, our two contestants battle it out using games of skill and chance in their quest..." (camera transitions to the 5th level WIN podium) "...to elevate themselves to this position and take home potentially more than $100,000!" (audience begins continuous applause) (camera transitions back to a wide shot of the entire set)
"This -- is Elevation!" (drum roll ends as intro rolls)
"And now, emerging from the elevator is our host -- Glen Brown!" (applause continues as the elevator doors open and I walk forward to my mark as the camera slowly zooms in) (applause and theme begin to fade)
Thank you Shadoe! Thank you so much, folks! I thank you and I welcome you to the premiere of Elevation! This enormous set behind me will take one or both of our players up to our fifth level and eventually onto that WIN podium where one of them will walk away with whatever cash he has won at that point, which could very well be a six-digit number! (audience cheers and applauds) Let's get right into some game action with each of our players and then we'll pause and get to know them a bit better. Shadoe, who is our first contestant today on Elevation!? Shadoe Stevens: "He's originally from Spartanburg, South Carolina and now resides in Chesnee -- now emerging from the elevator is our first contestant -- Anthony Long!" (audience applauds as the elevator doors open, Anthony steps out, walks forward and joins me as I shake his hand)
Anthony, welcome to Elevation and good luck to you! Your first-level podium is right over here on our left, so let's get you into it and let's get to playing Elevation! (we walk over to Anthony's podium to a smattering of applause) Now, across the stage you can see our game screen that will show you all the action as we go along. We interface with the website Random.org to roll the dice and move you that many spaces on our game board. Let's do that right now and see what you start with! Let's see Anthony's first roll, please. (ding)
It's a six for your first roll, which places you...
(ding)
...into our casino to play a hand of Blackjack! You are represented by the number 1 on our board, which we just moved six spaces to the right from the Start position along the bottom row of the game board.
Anthony, we start you off in the casino with $5,000 worth of chips that you can bet with. Here's an important point though -- that five grand is just a loan and before you can win Elevation, the casino is going to want that money back. Anything that you win in the casino that puts you above $5,000 is yours to keep and can be transferred to your winnings total when you are ready to purchase an elevator pass -- more on that later.
For now though, you're about to play a single hand of Blackjack against these three AI opponents and the AI dealer. You may bet as little as $100 or, you can bet the entire $5,000 if you want. If you go completely broke in the casino however, you cannot enter it anymore, nor can you win Elevation, until you've paid back the $5,000 so keep that in mind.
The dealer has asked you for a bet, Anthony. How much will it be?

The dealer is asking if you're sure about this -- if you lose, you owe the casino $5,000 before you can play in it again. Are you confirming this bet or would you like to change it?

Oh boy, Anthony, the dealer's up card is an ace! If he has 21, you've just lost that five grand. You have 10 at the moment, would you like to hit or stand?

(I have made a mistake, I was running the casino application in full screen mode and when I went back to it, the screen was frozen and I had to kill it. I have corrected the problem going forward, but as a result, that hand is gone, so we need to make a decision here, Anthony. First of all, here is the hand that came up this time)
(So, I will give you these choices, Anthony:
- Continue on with this hand and your $5,000 bet as if it was the original hand
- Start the hand over from the beginning, which would change these cards, but allow you to reduce your bet, if you wish
- Go back to the start and re-roll the dice (which could mean you'd play something else and possibly for less money)
(To be fair, let me first ask Noah if he agrees with these three choices as solutions to this issue)

(Ok, my apologies for the mistake -- I believe it shouldn't happen again although if the program continues to glitch, we'll have to rethink the casino part of this. I have messaged Noah and he has agreed that we can proceed from here, so you have a hand of 11 Anthony, would you like to hit or stand?)

(bzzzzzzzzzzzz)
Oh, if you had stayed, you'd have won because the dealer went bust! So, there goes that bet, I'm afraid.
(Now, I'm not entirely comfortable with this solution, so this result will stand but I think a fair compromise is that I'm not going to make Anthony pay back the casino for this since he might have won with that first hand, so Anthony, you win nothing for this, but I'm just going to reset your casino amount back to $5,000 -- hopefully, everyone agrees that is fair)
Well, that didn't work out Anthony, but there will be other chances in the casino along the way, I'm sure. This wouldn't be much of a competition without an opponent, so Shadoe, who else is joining us today?
Shadoe Stevens: "Well, he's an avid lover of game shows -- now emerging from the elevator is our second contestant -- Noah Carson!" (audience applauds as the elevator doors open, Noah steps out, walks forward and joins me as I shake his hand)
Noah, welcome to Elevation and best of luck to you! Your podium is over here on our right, so let's head over there and get your game underway! (we walk over to Noahs podium to a smattering of applause)
Across the way there is your opponent Anthony and a similar video screen is above him like the one he is looking at above us. Let's interface with Random.org now, roll those dice and see what comes up!
You're starting off with an eight which puts you...
(ding)
...on the dollar sign, which means you're going to play a random pricing game! Let's put the randomizer up on the board and see which one it'll be!
You are going to play a game called "Most Expensive" that involves three items. What are they, Shadoe?
Shadoe Stevens: "First, this Lionel log train set includes Heisler #3 steam engine, two logging disconnects, flatcar, caboose and circular track!
Next, we have a Ducane 24" stainless steel 36,000 BTU gas grill
And third, featuring everything from spinner wheels to front panel pockets, the Lucida 6-Piece Luggage Set is ideal for travel. Telescoping handles plus interior storage pockets and durable 600D polyester construction make this set a great choice."
Thank you, Shadoe!
Noah, we will add the value of all three of those items to your winnings total if you can tell us which of them is the most expensive -- it's as simple as that. Is it number one...is it number two...or is it number three?

If the luggage is most expensive, it's a good start for you, Noah. How much are those train sets, please? (ding)
$1.458 and I'd say you're good so far. Let's see about that grill, how much for that?
(ding)
$1,750. If that luggage is more than seventeen fifty, Noah will be more than halfway to the amount he needs to purchase his first elevator pass! What's the price of the luggage, please?
That is how you do it!! Well done, Noah! (audience cheers and applauds)
We're just getting underway here, folks! We'll be back to chat a bit with our players and play more Elevation -- right after these messages!
(audience continues applauding as we slowly zoom out, pan and fade to black)

(fade in with applause on the crane cam which swoops down and zooms into our position)
We are back for more Elevation and I am here in the center of our set with our two contestants today, Anthony Long and Noah Carson! (audience applauds)
Anthony, earlier when Shadoe introduced you, he said you were from South Carolina. There is a monstrous hurricane headed in your direction -- are you and your family planning to evacuate?
