Welcome back. Two staff members on a show I work on are still in mourning from the recent passing of Aretha Franklin. (audience respectfully applauds) Obviously, we all are. Aretha was part of the fun and games world as a guest of the original "Hollywood Squares" -- and a mystery guest of "What's My Line?" Take a look. (seven minute clip plays) (audience respectfully applauds) Panel was obviously stunned that their booker would book a legend. Aretha, we'll miss you. Best we take another break. Back with more after this. (fade to obituary graphic) (fade to black)

(video monitors start to play highlights from '99 NBA Finals) Doug: In 1999, the city of San Antonio finally became a city of champions. (audience cheers)Doug: The Spurs didn't win the NBA championship here. They won it in Game 5 on the New York Knicks' home floor. Tonight, a reunion of sorts. (audience cheers)Doug: With the nominees for best net game moment, please welcome to the Alamo City some of the men who provided the best moment of '99 for San Antonio. (crowd continues to cheer) Doug: From the U.S. Naval Academy, number 50, ten times an all-star, David "The Admiral" Robinson. (more cheers; crowd gives standing ovation) Doug: From Wake Forest, number 21, the man who helped bring home all *five* championships, Tim Duncan. (more cheers; crowd still on feet) Doug: From Southern, number 6, now the head coach at Alabama, the man who sank the silver and black's first championship-clinching bucket, Avery Johnson. (more cheers) Doug: And the head coach then -- and *now* -- also the leader in all five championship efforts -- Gregg Charles Popovich! (more cheers) Gregg: Uh -- so we're here to give out an award. Well, as far as the $ale Marvel crossover goes, I wanted to do something interesting. I've always been a fan of the M-C-U, and with this crossover, now we are. And since 20th Century Fox is now owned by Disney, or will be soon, we can legitimately do it. I'd like to thank Kevin Feige, Stan Lee-- a legend, Ryan Reynolds, Robert Downey, Jr., and everyone else at Marvel and Disney. And I can confirm that I'll be taking the rest of the summer off to shoot some extra scenes for Avengers 4, plus a few episodes of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.. (MCU fans in the audience rejoice)
Thank you for this award.

This *is* happening, right?
(audience ad-libs variations of “yes”)
Alright, I get your point!
What an honor this is, and I thank you for the award. I’ve got plenty of people to thank - my parents and my teachers over the years, who taught me to value knowledge... the fine folks at Sale of the Century, they’re a professional crew who put their heart into it every day, and it shows... the other contestants in the tournament, who made the competition plenty of fun...
I could go on all night, but those are the big ones. There’s plenty of other people to thank - you know who you are.
Thank you again.

(Runs up on stage, accepts trophy, and wipes sweat off his face)
Looks like they've spent more budget than ever, making these extra trophies.
(Few laughter)
I mean, I never knew I would get a chance to touch this lovely piece of gold, and I am very excited, really, really excited.
(Cheers)
You know, NGC is one of a few places where people with common interests join together and share their love about it. And as we are all together here tonight in NGA, we have all proved that our love of Game Shows is extraordinary. It has created many, many memorable moments, including one that granted me this trophy. Of course, these memories will not be forgotten, never it will.
(More cheers as I continue)
I would like to thank you all the folks behind On A Roll and After Dark, Mr. Doug Morris, Mr. Tony McLane and Mr. Greg Palmer for this exciting show, all the producers of the wonderful net games and of course everybody here, current and former members of NGC, for your share of everyone's wonderful moments of life. Thank you from my bottom of heart. Thank you.

Ryan Seacrest: Hi, everyone... Ryan Seacrest here. I was the host of the children's game show "Click". There's more fun and awards to be awarded coming up. Later, we'll have a special musical performance by KISS at the end of the show. But when we come back, we'll have a special achievement award that you don't want to miss. Stick with us... all of that and tons more when The 2018 Net Game Awards returns on NBC.

For the next few moments, we'll be honoring the people vital to the success of a net game -- its participants and their hosts. (audience cheers)So, when I call out the winners' names, arrange yourselves in a single file. (audience laughs and applauds)Only kidding. Here to present the nominees for best host of a net game is our current champion on the Match Game - Hollywood Squares Hour -- seen weekdays on NBC -- (scattered laughter from crowd) -- Lenny Jackson! (audience cheers)To borrow that classic line from Sally Field, "You like me. You really like me." (audience laughs and applauds)It dawned on me the other day that my first hit show started twenty years ago -- a net version of Bumper Stumpers. (scattered cheers) What an amazing journey since then -- and the want to keep going is there. This award is an inspiration to keep going. Thank you. (audience cheers)

(Doug starts to leave; PAs motion him to stay; one PA hands Doug envelope) Eh, live TV folks. (scattered laughter from crowd) I swear this worked better in rehearsal. Well, our next award is for best new player. The parenthetical on the outside of this envelope indicates we had just the one nominee. (opens envelope) That nominee, and our winner, is -- Frank Sartori! (audience cheers)

*I walk up onstage to accept my award*
Wow. I joined NGC back in 2016 and never thought I'd be nominated for an award. Rather, receive one. I'd like to thank the fans, my family, and also that fuzzy blue monster in the audience who I still owe cookies to.
*camera shot of Cookie Monster in the audience*
I will continue to be a player here because I am always looking for a fun time and that's what it's all about. Thank you folks!

Thank you very much, Doug! There are many factors that you must consider to be a successful host, such as familiarizing yourself with the games, being friendly with the contestants, and offering some nice prizes. These three newcomers have what it takes to be our pick for Best New Host, and they are:
Hunter Dillon
Joseph Kristoff
and
Frank Sartori
And the winner for Best New Host is... (opens envelope)
