Welcome back. Two staff members on a show I work on are still in mourning from the recent passing of Aretha Franklin. (audience respectfully applauds) Obviously, we all are.

Aretha was part of the fun and games world as a guest of the original "Hollywood Squares" -- and a mystery guest of "What's My Line?" Take a look.

Doug: In 1999, the city of San Antonio finally became a city of champions.

Doug: The Spurs didn't win the NBA championship here. They won it in Game 5 on the New York Knicks' home floor. Tonight, a reunion of sorts.

Doug: With the nominees for best net game moment, please welcome to the Alamo City some of the men who provided the best moment of '99 for San Antonio.

(crowd continues to cheer)

Doug: From the U.S. Naval Academy, number 50, ten times an all-star, David "The Admiral" Robinson.

Doug: From Wake Forest, number 21, the man who helped bring home all *five* championships, Tim Duncan.

Doug: From Southern, number 6, now the head coach at Alabama, the man who sank the silver and black's first championship-clinching bucket, Avery Johnson.

Doug: And the head coach then -- and *now* -- also the leader in all five championship efforts -- Gregg Charles Popovich!

Gregg: Uh -- so we're here to give out an award.

(audience laughs and applauds)

Avery: Not just any award. It's the award for best moment in a net game.

Tim: Much like the Spurs, many people from all walks of life provide the extraordinary in the world of fun and games.

David: We've got sixteen great nominees. We'll present them in alphabetical order -- by show.

Gregg: And because we've got so many to go through, please hold your applause until we find out who wins.

Avery: All right, as I like to say back in Tuscaloosa, buckle up! Here come the nominees. From Card Sharks, Hunter Dillon winning the $32,000 top payoff in the Money Card.

David: From Family Feud: Seasons, Antonio Gray reaching the goal of 200 points by himself in Fast Money.

Gregg: From Gambit, Matt Ringgenberg winning his fifth championship.

Tim: From High Rollers with Mark Liotta, Matt Ringgenberg winning the jackpot.

Avery: From the Match Game - Hollywood Squares Hour, Andrew L. Budny winning a secret square question worth more than $40,000.

David: Also from the Match Game - Hollywood Squares Hour, Matt Ringgenberg winning a secret square question worth more than $87,000.

Well, as far as the $ale Marvel crossover goes, I wanted to do something interesting. I've always been a fan of the M-C-U, and with this crossover, now we are. And since 20th Century Fox is now owned by Disney, or will be soon, we can legitimately do it. I'd like to thank Kevin Feige, Stan Lee-- a legend, Ryan Reynolds, Robert Downey, Jr., and everyone else at Marvel and Disney. And I can confirm that I'll be taking the rest of the summer off to shoot some extra scenes for Avengers 4, plus a few episodes of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.. (MCU fans in the audience rejoice)

What an honor this is, and I thank you for the award. I’ve got plenty of people to thank - my parents and my teachers over the years, who taught me to value knowledge... the fine folks at Sale of the Century, they’re a professional crew who put their heart into it every day, and it shows... the other contestants in the tournament, who made the competition plenty of fun...

I could go on all night, but those are the big ones. There’s plenty of other people to thank - you know who you are.

You know, NGC is one of a few places where people with common interests join together and share their love about it. And as we are all together here tonight in NGA, we have all proved that our love of Game Shows is extraordinary. It has created many, many memorable moments, including one that granted me this trophy. Of course, these memories will not be forgotten, never it will.
