I know BYU University is in Utah, and I feel fairly confident the answer is
C. Brigham Young, final answer (closing my eyes and cringing)

(final answer cue)Which religious leader moved the Mormon church to the Great Salt Lake region of Utah?
A. Joseph Smith | B. Sidney Rigdon | C. Brigham Young | D. Lyman Wight |
You could have taken $16,000. But you went straight for C as your final answer. Bill, I have news for you... ...you can stop cringing and open your eyes, you're now guaranteed $32,000!!! (second milestone cue, many cheers and lots of applause) Which religious leader moved the Mormon church to the Great Salt Lake region of Utah?
A. Joseph Smith | B. Sidney Rigdon | C. Brigham Young | D. Lyman Wight |
$32,000 (another cue as the lights descend to a darker setting) [50:50][PaF][---][StQ] | 15 $1 MILLION | 14 $500,000 | 13 $250,000 | 12 $125,000 | 11 $64,000 | 10·$32,000 | 9 · $16,000 | 8 · $8,000 | 7 · $4,000 | 6 · $2,000 | 5 · $1,000 | 4 · $500 | 3 · $300 | 2 · $200 | 1 · $100 |
Bill, I'm absolutely delighted to write you out this check for 32 grand. However... (a few laughs and groans from the audience) ...you know I'd be even happier to write you an even bigger check. The next hurdle facing you is the $64,000 question, but it's a fairly nice one, because you won't lose anything if you give me a wrong answer here. That said, let's see if you can get the right answer to this... ($64,000 music plays)Which of the following painters was an Impressionist?
A. Claude Monet | B. Rembrandt van Rijn | C. Jackson Pollock | D. Piet Mondrian |
Got any idea?

I have an idea that it's one of those four (chuckling)
Although I took an art course in college, that was way back in the fall of 1985, some 33 years ago.
I've heard of these artists, but I haven't a clue which one did the impressionist.
I'd like to swap the question please.

(Switch music plays)
Alright, you no longer have to worry about this question. We're just gonna show you what the right answer was... Which of the following painters was an Impressionist?
A. Claude Monet | B. Rembrandt van Rijn | C. Jackson Pollock | D. Piet Mondrian |
It was Monet, not that that really matters now. Computer, let's take away this question and give Bill a new $64,000 question... (sound effect as the original music returns) What does 'i.e.' mean?
A. That is | B. Therefore | C. In reference to | D. About |

i.e. I believe is from the Latin, which is all Greek to me.
I used to believe it meant "for example", but I remember learning a number of years ago that it did not mean that.
I cannot remember what it means, so I'm going to use the 50:50 option here Evan and hope for the best.

Let's see what this could do for you... Hey, computer, we need you again! Please take away, at random, two wrong answers, leaving the correct answer and one incorrect answer... (ba-dum!) What does 'i.e.' mean?
Does that help at all?

I'm going to say A. "That is" since i.e. is two letters and there are 2 words in that phrase.
A. "That is" and that is my final answer (crossing my fingers)

You know, Bill... ...it's a good thing you had those lifelines, because they've helped you double up to $64,000! ($64,000 win cue, cheers and other reactions from the audience) What does 'i.e.' mean?
$64,000 (lights down cue)Just four questions to go now to the million, and one Phone-a-Friend still at your disposal. You can walk away with $64,000, no further questions asked, but there's nothing to lose just by looking, so let's see your next question for $125,000... ($125,000 music plays)

$125,000 ($250,000 lights down cue)Let's see if you can keep the momentum going here - three questions to go, the right answer to this question is worth a quarter million... ($250,000 question cue plays)What was Judy Garland's first feature film?
A. Pigskin Parade | B. Broadway Melody of 1938 | C. Everybody Sing | D. The Wizard of Oz |

I think The Wizard of Oz is not it. I think she was 16 and for some reason I'm thinking that wasn't her first film...
Movie trivia is not my strong suit...older movies somewhat, but wow this one is a real head scratcher.
And since Ouija board isn't a lifeline, I can't try to contact Judy directly to ask her, I'll need to use that Phone A Friend lifeline...
As for who to call...I'm going to request koopakid17, Kevin Kolsen to run this question by please.

You two both know how this works - Bill, get ready to read the question, Kevin, get ready to help out however you can in the next 30 seconds (three posts each). Alright, the best of luck to both of you, you've got 30 seconds, and it starts right now... (30 second clock cue plays)

Hi and thanks Kevin...
What was Judy Garland's first feature film?
A. Pigskin Parade B. Broadway Melody of 1938 C. Everybody Sing D. The Wizard of Oz
I ruled out Wizard of Oz because that was from 1939 and she was 16 and did outstanding in that role which led me to believe she must have been in something earlier, plus "Oz" seems too obvious an answer to me, especially for $250,000.
Any ideas Kevin?

I'd say you're right about ruling out Wizard of Oz. I think she's been acting longer than that. I would also rule out Broadway Melody of 1938 because that would also indicate that she's been acting for quite some time. I'm not confident about the other two, though.

Okay Kevin, and before I go, will you help me with my tax forms with my winnings?
(Chuckling)
Evan, I am going to take my $125,000 and run! I'm stopping right here, final decision.
Incidentally, If I were to have ventured a guess, I would have said "Everybody Sing" as the answer. Total guess though.

Alright, final decision, we definitely respect that... (the music stops as the lights go up, applause from the audience) ...but let's just see what would have happened. You said you would have gone for Everybody Sing... ...well, you'll be glad you didn't, you would have blown $93,000! (some sighs of relief from the audience) What was Judy Garland's first feature film?
A. Pigskin Parade | B. Broadway Melody of 1938 | C. Everybody Sing | D. The Wizard of Oz |
It was Pigskin Parade. You definitely made the right call there! Bill, you've played a mighty fine game, and you leave this studio tonight with $125,000 to show for it. Our best wishes to you and your family, especially your son. Let's give a hand one more time for Bill McDee! (walk away cue, cheers and applause) TOTAL PRIZE MONEY $125,000 That's a lot of money, that much is for sure. We'll see if we can give away even more to somebody when we come back from the break.
