Hello friends,
Matt Ringgenberg is the current champion with 2 wins and 1 loss. Jon Darrell is the current co-champion with 1 win and 1 loss.
A new rule took effect recently, whereby players remain until they either win the car and jackpot in the bonus game, or win 5 games, or lose 2 games.
Greg Palmer was the first player to be eliminated from episode #1. Greg, at this time I would like to extend to you an invitation, and request the honor of your presence to be the third contestant in episode #5. If you are unable to at this time, I will go through my archives and notify the next contestant. Hopefully you can participate in episode #5 though.
So when you're able to, could Matt, Jon and Greg check in, let me know if you're ready to do episode #5. If so, I'd also respectfully request if each of you could send to me, via private message, twelve buzzcodes ranging from 01-99 (inclusive).
The game itself will probably not start until sometime on Saturday, August 2nd. Tomorrow I have a wedding rehearsal dinner to attend after work and Friday I'm attending my niece's wedding, so I most likely won't be on here much, if at all, during July 31 or August 1.
Thanks so much!
Bill

Thank you Jon, and thank you all!
Our game should begin either sometime later tomorrow (Saturday, August 2nd), or at the latest Sunday, August 3rd. My lovely niece is getting married today, and I'm at work til noon working on a deadline. Chance of storms tomorrow during part of the day, so this is why I say it may be tomorrow, or perhaps Sunday.

www.televisiontunes.com/Jackpot_-_1974-1975.htmlFRANK CALIENDO (impersonating Don Pardo): Matt Ringgenberg...Jon Darrell...and Greg Palmer... FRANK - "If any of you makes an instant match... FRANK - "...and are today's winner... FRANK: "...you could win a brand new Buick, plus a cash jackpot of at least $29,000!" FRANK: "From the Bill Cullen Theatre in Rockefeller Plaza, New York, it's... FRANK: "THREE ON A MATCH...with your host, Bill McDee!" That would be me! (cheers & applause) ((I knock on the wall behind me)) I thank you kindly contestants, studio audience, viewing audience and of course Mr. Frank Caliendo! This is "Three on a Match" and you heard right, starting today, if any player makes a match in just three picks, and they win the game today, they automatically will be playing for the car and a cash jackpot of at least $29,000! (NBC canned "Whoooohs!!!!") Two of these three contestants have had at least one try at the bonus, our current champion Matt Ringgenberg has had two tries at the BONUS BUCK$, both times coming up a little bit short, nevertheless, he still has two wins and $12,725 in cash to his credit! (applause) Matt, you ready to have at it again today?

And player #3 hasn't as yet had a chance to play the bonus game, but we have invited him back, since we began implementing a 2 loss elimination rule. This is why all 3 players' podiums are red, since all 3 have 1 loss today, so this is truly a "sudden death" match for all 3. Back with $250 from his previous appearance, here's Greg Palmer!
(cheers & applause)
Greg, thank you for returning to compete again. I hope the questions and the big board prove kinder to you this time. Remind us again please about yourself since you've not been on the show for a short while.

Well, I'm Greg Palmer. I'm a college graduate from Durham, NC with a sh---- can't say that on the air, can I? Less than ideal job packing cans of peanuts. See, this is what happens when you don't have job experience, kids. Anyway, I am also into Facebook games, The Alan Parsons Project (currently listening to Ammonia Avenue), and the works of Stephen J. Cannell. It's great to be back.

I too am a fan of the Alan Parsons Project, and some works of Mr. Cannell as well! It's a pleasure to have you back on the panel again Greg, and I wish all of you good luck today. Sadly, for at least 2 of you, this will mark your final appearance on our show. There it is, in all its colorful glory, the "Big Board". That's where the most important action of our game takes place. Finding 3 of the same picture of image on that board will make a match for you, and the quicker you make a match, the more money you will earn, and that's important, because the one of you who has the lowest score after Round 6 is eliminated. We play a total of 8 rounds and a maximum of 8 boards. The player with the highest money score is crowned the champion and plays the BONUS BUCK$ game where today, one of you could win a brand new $35,000 Buick plus a cash jackpot of $29,000 or even $58,000! (Audience ooohs) So let's get down to it... In order to gain control of the matching board, as you know by now, you must first come up with a correct answer to a question. Correct answers will earn you money toward your score as well. Now, in order to gain control of the category board, you must be the closest with the number code, high or low. The code is 95, and Greg with 85, you are closest. We have 3 categories concealed under the words TOP, MIDDLE and BOTTOM. Select one, and we'll see which category you draw.

Very good, the category is "IT HAPPENED IN '77" Here's the question... In the autumn of 1977, the New York Yankees won another World Series. Which member of that team earned the nickname "Mr. October"?

Rrrgh.... baseball. In the 70s. Best I can guess is Sandy Koufax.

Not a bad guess, unfortunately that is incorrect. Matt, you were the next closest with 44. You can either take this question, or select TOP or BOTTOM instead.

I'll take this question. Reggie Jackson
|
|
|
Post by billmcdee on Aug 3, 2014 15:52:14 GMT -5
And you are correct Matt! (applause) Mr. Koufax was an Ace pitcher for the Los Angeles Dodgers during the 1960s primarily. Hidden behind that category Matt, it will say $100 or $125 or Jackpot. The Jackpot right now is worth $500. During the first 4 rounds of play if it is not hit, we add $50 to it until it is uncovered, at which time it resets again to $500. During the second half of our show, it grows by $100 every time it is not hit. Let's see how much Matt scored on this question... $125. So the Jackpot will grow to $550 for the next question. Meantime, and more importantly, Matt has earned a trip to the big board... Each column contains four different pictures that tie into a specific theme. Uncover 3 matching pictures and you'll win money. Keep in mind however, one of the pictures in one of the columns has been replaced with a NO MATCH card. Also remember you may uncover a maximum of three boxes in any given column. The number of picks you will get is now determined by the big board too. Hidden behind each box we have a number of picks hidden. Four of the boxes have "6 PICKS", Five have "7 PICKS", Two have "8 PICKS" and One says "9 PICKS". Which ever box you select first will determine how many picks you will receive at the big board. That will be revealed first, followed by the picture attached to that box. So Matt, please select your first two boxes by selecting the column number followed by the color, and remember, if you can get a match on your first 3 picks, and you win the game today, you will automatically be playing for the car and the cash jackpot of $29,000! (cheers & applause). And that applies for all of our players throughout the main game! Matt, it's your board. Good luck.

7 Picks at the board for you, and behind 40 on the yellow... A saw, this board theme is about tools I'm guessing. 20 on the Red was next... (audience gasps) Well well, a pair of saws! If there is a saw in the 30 column, and there may be or may not be, but if there is, and you select it on your next pick, you'll score $750 and more importantly, you'll automatically play for the car and the $29,000 jackpot if you win today's game Matt. Look it over carefully, and select your next box, and good luck!

Post by billmcdee on Aug 4, 2014 14:47:28 GMT -5
30 on the blue for an instant match... HE DID IT! (cheers & applause) That scores another $750 for you Matt, and if you win today's game, you will automatically be playing for the $35,000 Buick, and a cash jackpot of $29,000! Audience - "Whoooooooaaaaahhhhh!" CLANG CLANG CLANG CLANG CLANG!!! OH!!! (applause) And that saw that you matched is also the BONUS match Matt! You can pick up some more money here. Hidden behind one of those saws is a $250 money card, behind another $125, and behind one there is no bonus. Which one do you want, the 20, 30 or 40 column Matt?

30, why not? That was the column that gave you the instant match. What's behind the saw in the 30 column please? Wow! (applause) So that match alone was worth top dollar, $1,000, bringing your score up to $1,125 already! About the only thing that went wrong for you Matt was not having selected the Jackpot question, which is currently at $550. So let's get set for Round 2, here comes the category board code and the codes our players punched in prior to the show... And Matt, you are living right my friend. Top, Middle or Bottom this time?

There's a category to make a lot of environmentalists happy, not to mention dogs...."TREES". Here's the question for you Matt. Look at the screen please... There is a National Park infamous for this type of tree. Name the park and you will have named the tree.

Another right answer! (applause)... First, let's see if that is the Jackpot, and if not, how much money you scored... Well, a hundred bucks anyway....takes you to $1,225 and takes the Jackpot up to $600. New board for you Matt, and remember your first pick will also determine the total number of picks you will get. Select your first 2 boxes at this time please.
