Well I am 49, turning the big five-oh at the end of this year, and 5 is a very good number to me. I bet over $30,000 higher on a 5 and won, and I won that great car with number 5 on yesterday's show!
I have a son who is in his final days of his junior year of high school. His mother and I have been married now over 25 years. We reside near Washington Crossing, Pennsylvania, and I have been gainfully employed as a data entry specialist for a pharmaceutical research firm since March 1999.

I hope you'll continue doing a great job for your family and community, Bill. Good luck to you. We play the best 2 out of 3 games. The winner gets to play the Money Cards for thousands more and at least a chance of winning a brand new automobile. We'll reveal that at the end of the show. Right now, let's begin round 1 with our first question. *grabs card* Bill... we've asked 100 doctors-- Do you think acupuncture works? How many of them say that acupuncture does work?

Oh my, you really are putting me on the spot here Tony. If I don't get close to the right number, I'll feel foolish, since I work with a pharmaceutical research firm especially!
Many medical doctors have ties with the pharma companies I believe, and I don't know that a great many of them would necessarily endorse acupuncture.
Then again, it is a confidential survey, and the question simply asked them if they thought it worked.
I think, given those parameters, 37 will say that yes, acupuncture does work.

[DING]37 out of 100 say that acupuncture does work. What do you think, Raymond... higher or lower?

I agree with Bill's logic, so I'm gonna say lower.

I agree with Bill's logic, so I'm gonna say lower. Any reasons why you think it's lower, Raymond?

I don't think a doctor is gonna openly admit that acupuncture could work.

OK. [DING]If it's lower, you'll play your cards. If not, Bill will be playing his cards. And if one of you gets the answer exactly, will receive a $1,000 bonus. Bill says 37 and Raymond says it's lower. The actual number of doctors say that acupuncture does work is-- [DING-DING-DING, APPLAUSE]36... by one! And Raymond will begin round 1 with his base card-- --an 8.

Lower than a Queen... [DING-DING-DING, APPLAUSE]It's a washer and dryer. If you win this round or in the second round, that prize is yours. Sammi will now place the washer and dryer in your prize column while Jenna hands me a replacement card. Do you still want to call on your Queen lower, Raymond?

I'll play the odds and say the next card will be lower than the 9 Tony.

Is it lower...? [BUZZER, AUDIENCE CONTINUES TO GROAN]No... it's another 9. Both players haven't gained a single inch... but it's just the beginning. Coming up after the break, we'll have a second question ready for our challenger. We're coming back with more of Card Sharks right after this commercial time out. Don't go away... *back to studio* [CHEERS AND APPLAUSE]Welcome back to Card Sharks. I hope you're enjoying TGIF as much as we do. Before the break, let's see what the board looks like... Both players haven't made a single progressive move. Raymond stuck with a Queen while our champion Bill is stuck with a 9. Let's return to the game with our second question. *grabs card* Raymond... we've asked 100 marriage counselors-- Does having a baby help a troubled marriage? How many of them say yes... having a baby does help a troubled marriage?

|
|
Post by bowlerraymond on Jun 13, 2016 0:20:17 GMT -5
I personally don't think having a baby in a marriage that isn't working is good because if you guys are having issues whether it's about money or orher things, the last thing they would need is a baby. I'm gonna say 20 of them think it's a good idea.

[DING]20 out of 100 say that having a baby does help a troubled marriage. Higher or lower, Bill?

|
|
Post by billmcdee on Jun 14, 2016 8:07:37 GMT -5
I believe conventional wisdom among therapists and among people in general says that it's rare if ever that a baby helps a troubled marriage, so I'll say it's even lower than 20.

Now that E3 is officially over, I'm back to work. [DING]Raymond says 20 and Bill says it's lower.... And the actual number of marriage counselors say that having a baby does help a troubled marriage is-- [DING-DING-DING, APPLAUSE]18. Bill's right... it is lower. Bill... you have a 9 as your base card. Do you want to play this middle card or change it?
