After a most interesting and semi-heartbreaking episode #2, I have all new boards and cards all re-shuffled and we're ready to play episode #3.
Darion Daniel is the 2 day champion with $6,850. More cyber-dough is available in this game.
Who would like to challenge Darion? I would respectfully request somebody other than Matt Ringgenberg (who played in episode 1) and James Greek (who just played in episode 2).

www.televisiontunes.com/Headline_Chasers.htmlScott Shannon: Tonight, one of our contestants could win over $50,000 in cash, plus this sporty new 2016 Buick! Scott Shannon: You're Aces with everybody when you join us to play television's first card game... Scott Shannon: From the Art James Studio at MetroMedia Studios, New York...it's... Scott Shannon (and audience): "Pay Cards!!!" (cheering and applause) Scott Shannon: And here to make sure our players get a fair deal, here's Bill McDee! (applause) That's me! So...how exactly do I get out of this thing anyway? Anybody?? Ah, that's more like it! I don't like anybody to cramp my style! I've heard of being the center of attention, but that was carrying it JUST a bit too far! (chuckling) Hello and another very pleasant good evening, thank you for joining us for another exciting edition of Pay Cards. Hey, we've raised the stakes for our players and now every single time a player plays our end game Royal Flush, they could earn a chance at winning that sporty Buick that Scott Shannon mentioned just a moment ago! We have two very eager card players here, ready to match wits with our big board, and with one another. First our reigning champion, this is his third night here with us, having racked up a nice tidy sum of $6,850, welcome back Darion Daniel! (applause) And his challenger this evening, right from the great state of New York, where our studio is located, Kevin Kolsen! (applause) Darion, very nice to see you back again at the Champion's seat, in red. You're winning some good funds to get yourself out of the red perhaps. Remind everybody again about who you are, where you're from, what you do, anything you like to share with us.

And you have had many leads during your Pay Cards games, we'll see if that trend continues. Very nice to have you back again Darion, good luck tonight.
Kevin Kolsen, from the Empire State, New York, you live in the city Kevin?

And the Islanders are in the NHL Playoffs too, going up against the Florida Panthers in the first round. If you're a fan of them Kevin, I wish them well, and whether or not you're a fan of them or hockey in general, I wish you well here on Pay Cards. Let's set up the board for our first hand, Round 1 which we call Strategy... (bliiiiiiiiing) We play with a 16 card deck contestants. There are two sets of four of a kind up on that board, one set of three of a kind, two sets of pairs, and one single card. Here is what we pay during this round... And you'll notice we've upped the stakes considerably... For each pair we pay $100, $250 for three of a kind, $500 for a full house, $1,000 for four of a kind, and the player who has the high hand will win at least an additional $250, and that's important because while both players keep all cash they win, only the high scorer of the day goes on to play our Royal Flush round, and that can pay off in the thousands of dollars, maybe even more than $50,000!! (audience oohs & ahhs)... We start each of our 2 Strategy Rounds by revealing three of the cards on our board at random.... Number 2... The 7 of Spades. Number 3... Is the 8 of spades, and number 9... Is a deuce of diamonds. Players, one thing we have added to our game is a "Bonus" card. It is attached to one of the remaining 17 unrevealed cards. If a player finds that, it goes up on his side of the board, and if that player ends up with the high hand for the round, they will get the chance to add on more money to their score, anywhere from $50 up to $250, so that could be a game changer in and of itself... Kevin, when round 2 begins, you will go first, however for Round 1, the champion always gets to go first. Darion, at this time I will ask you to select 2 more numbers, and we will reveal those cards. Then I will ask you to tell me which 2 of the 5 turned up cards you want to take to begin to build your hand. Remember too players, even though we have hearts, clubs, diamonds and spades on the board, we do not pay anything for flushes, nor do we pay anything for straights, plus the cards are pre-selected in such a way that a straight would be impossible to achieve. Alright champ, please select 2 more numbers, and good luck!

And we're off and running... Number 7 has... The 8 of Hearts, and number 13... (gasps in the audience) Wow, an 8 of Diamonds. The Bonus Card was not selected however a plethora of 8's on the board Darion. Which 2 of these 5 turned up cards do you want to begin your hand?

Number 12 reveals... The 3 of Clubs, and 16... (groans in the audience) The 5 of hearts. No matches up there Kevin, however, you are required at this time to select 2 of those 5 to begin your hand...Which 2 cards do you want to keep?

(applause in the audience) That disrupts Darion getting three of a kind now, so very sound strategy on your part Kevin... Darion, the board is yours once again, please select 2 more numbers, and remember, that Bonus Card is still up there lurking someplace...

Seems we're playing Crazy Eights here in this round! Number 8... Is the 2 of Clubs, and behind number 1... Marsha, Queen of Diamonds...still no bonus card yet. Five cards are turned up Darion, keep any 2 you wish...which 2 will they be?

I will take the pair of deuces.

(applause) Worst you can do is two pair, best you can do is a full house Darion... But first, Kevin gets to select 2 more cards. There are seven still face down and one of them does have that bonus card attached to it. Kevin, select a couple more numbers please.

Number 11 has... No bonus card... But it does have the 7 of diamonds however... And 15... No bonus card there either... (audience reacts) But there is a 7 of clubs. Kevin, which 2 cards do you want to take to add to your hand?

(applause) I had a feeling, but am required to ask of course. A see-saw battle here, now Kevin has 3 of a kind, with Darion having 2 pair. Final turn for each player, however, this time each player only gets to pick one more card to turn over, and then one card more to add to their hand. Darion, needless to say, you're hoping to turn up yet another 8 or a deuce, which would give you a full house and put you back into the lead. 4, 5, 6, 10 and 14 remain. Which one of those do you select?

Number 10 has to be an 8 or a 2, otherwise Kevin will win high hand... Number 10 is... It's a TWO!!!!! (applause) And Darion, continuing his high-caliber championship play, has for himself a Full House, and is back in the lead for the moment, however... Kevin gets to pick one more card, and I can tell you right now, there is good news and bad news. The bad news is, nobody is going to get the Bonus Card this round because it is attached to a card that would not help Kevin at this point. The good news for you Kevin, and perhaps bad for Darion, is one of the remaining four cards on our board is the fourth 7. If you find it, you will have 4 of a kind and win the round, if not, you'll still finish with a pretty decent hand, three of a kind. A big pick here for both Darion and Kevin. Kevin, let's see if you can find that last 7... Pick a number...
