(ANNOUNCER BURTON RICHARDSON): THIS IS A GAME OF SPEED, SMARTS AND STRATEGY… THIS IS A GAME WHERE EVERY DECISION WILL BUILD EXCITEMENT AND TURN UP THE HEAT! THIS IS A GAME WHERE ONE ROLL COULD LEAD TO A FORTUNE IN CASH, OR A FINANCIAL CRASH! THIS IS THE ALL NEW… HOT DICE! (applause) AND HERE IS THE CROUPIER OF THE GAME TABLE… BILL McDEE! (applause) That's me! Welcome Friends to the all new "Hot Dice". This is based on your old favorite creation by our very good friend and former emcee Doug Morris. We call this the ALL NEW Hot Dice because we've added some new elements to our game play, and we have two very fun-filled and exciting end games that one of our contestants will get to play later on. It is nice to be back in the fold once again. Had a lot of stuff going on, including having some odd dreams. I just had one last night where I was invited to go visit a nude beach, but I turned down the invitation because I told them I didn't have a thing to wear. And speaking of dreams, we're going to try to make dreams come true for our very first two Hot Dice contestants. And on this show we don't give a warm welcome, no no no, we give a HOT welcome, to Kevin Kolsen and James Greek! (applause) Kevin, please correct me if I'm wrong. You are based out of New York and are a tax accountant?

Yes, those are correct. Since it's now February, tax season has just kicked in and I'm now working six days a week.

Only 2 days less per week than the Beatles did.
Kevin, best of luck here today to you and with the upcoming tax season too! Here we will do all the accounting for you!
Your opponent, representing the Dixon side of the Mason-Dixon line is James Greek.
James, you hail from Alabama. I know you have an interest in music and in girls, not necessarily in that order. Any particular bands or genres or time periods that appeal to you with respect to your music preferences?

(Off the air)
Kevin and James, at this time I would request for you to please submit to me via private message five buzzcodes between 1 and 100.
In the event of a tie, the one of you who submits your codes to me first will be deemed the first to have signaled in.
After the question is asked and it is determined which of you rang in first, you will have the option of either answering the question yourself or challenging the other player to do so.
You may wish to challenge if you are not confident of the correct answer or if you suspect your opponent may not know the answer.

(applause) Here we are friends. And for any of you who are not familiar with the old "Hot Dice" and/or have not read the rules for this current incarnation of our game, the object of the game is for our contestants to roll a standard pair of dice, the "Hot" dice, to build up a money pot. The first roll, known as the come out roll, is always safe, but any roll after that comes with a risk. I'll explain more about that in a moment. To earn control of those dice to build up the pot, players must win a toss up question. We play 4 toss up questions during each of our first two games. Let's reveal the three possible answers to our very first question... www.dougmorris.org/sfx/sfxreveal.mp3And a very special thank you to the founding father of Hot Dice, Doug Morris, for not only graciously allowing me to continue this franchise, but also for providing us with the sound effects as well! We have Estelle Getty, Vicki Lawrence and Carol Burnett. Here is the question. On the syndicate situation comedy series "Mama's Family", which of these actresses portrayed the title character? www.dougmorris.net/dice/sfxbuzzin.mp3The red outline on the dice table indicates that Kevin was first to signal. Kevin, you have two options at this point. You can elect to answer the question yourself, or, if you believe James may not know the correct answer, you can challenge him to do so instead. Kevin, if you elect to play, please reply with the correct answer before time expires (48 hours from the time of this post). If you elect to challenge your opponent, please indicate that as well. Failing to either answer within 48 hours from the time of this post, or indicating if you wish to challenge by having James answer, will automatically give James control of the Hot Dice.

I will play and answer with Vicki Lawrence.

Playing with Vicki Lawrence is a no-no. She's a married lady. At least I think she still is. If your answer is correct Kevin, you will see one symbol, but if you are wrong, you will see another symbol altogether. Is the correct answer, Vicki Lawrence? www.dougmorris.net/games/sfxcbsding.mp3Correct! Kevin, the Hot Dice are yours to roll. Since this is the come out roll, any number you roll will be multiplied by $50, and that money will be deposited into the pot. So at this time Kevin, please select a number higher than 0 but lower than 37 to take your first roll of the dice.

And Kevin's first roll is... www.dougmorris.net/dice/sfxdiceroll.mp3A six. We multiply that by $50 and the pot starts at $300. www.dougmorris.net/games/sfxcbsding.mp3Now Kevin, you are in the "Danger Zone". You may continue rolling the Hot Dice, for as long as you wish in order to built up that pot, however, now, if you roll a 7, the pot will be frozen, and you will not win it. A new twist in the game is this, if Kevin does roll a 7, James will get one roll of the Hot Dice and a chance to steal that pot away by rolling a 7 of his own. If during the steal attempt James were to roll doubles, he would receive double the pot. And if during the steal roll James rolled anything other than a 7 or doubles, the pot will go back to $0 and any money in the pot will go toward my pension fund. (audience laughter). Keep in mind players, after 4 question rounds and 1 catch-up round, only the player with the higher score will keep the cash, while the runner-up will receive a nice prize. So with all that in mind Kevin, do you want to bank $300 or gamble and take another roll? If you elect to roll, please indicate a roll code higher than 0 but lower than 37.

Risking $300... www.dougmorris.net/dice/sfxdiceroll.mp3A nine is good! For another $450 into the pot. www.dougmorris.net/games/sfxcbsding.mp3Now it becomes an even bigger risk. You can bank $750 Kevin or take another roll. A 7 and you won't get anything and James could steal it away, or possibly double the pot even. Bank it or roll again Kevin? If you elect to roll again Kevin please indicate your roll code with a number higher than 0 but lower than 37.

Our first banking of dough! www.dougmorris.net/games/sfxcbsding.mp3So now we move onto question #2... And question 2 goes something like this... SADLY, ON DECEMBER 31, 2015, BOTH WAYNE ROGERS OF M*A*S*H FAME AND NATALIE COLE DIED. TRUE OR FALSE... MUPPETS CREATOR JIM HENSON DIED ON THE SAME MONTH, DATE AND YEAR AS LEGENDARY SINGER SAMMY DAVIS, JR. www.dougmorris.net/dice/sfxbuzzin.mp3Kevin, you are first again on the buzzer. You may answer or challenge James to answer. Please give either your answer, or your decision to challenge Kevin no later than 6:05pm EST on Sunday, February 14th.

Alright, James, Jim Henson and Sammy Davis, Jr. both died on the same month, date and year. Is that statement true, or false James?
You have until 6:30pm EST on Sunday, Feb. 14th to answer.

(audience chuckles) James believes it is true. If it is, he will roll the Hot Dice, otherwise Kevin will get control again. Is it True? www.dougmorris.net/games/sfxcbsding.mp3Correct! (applause) Incidentally, Thomas Jefferson and John Adams, our 3rd and 2nd presidents respectively, both died on the same month, date and year too. What's even weirder, they died on July 4, 1826, exactly 50 years after the completion of the singing of the Declaration of Independence, something they both contributed to. (ripping up the card) No more of these death questions fellas, too morbid. James, you took on Kevin's challenge and were successful, now you get to roll the Hot Dice. James, select a number higher than 0 but lower than 37 for your come out roll. All numbers are good including 7, we pay $50 times what you roll, including if you roll a double.

James' first roll... A six. That puts $300 into the pot. Danger Zone time! If you roll a 7 James, the pot is frozen and Kevin gets a chance to steal. You can roll again if you wish, or bank the $300. What do you say James? If you elect to roll again, please provide a roll code higher than 0 but lower than 37.
