Welcome to Episode 57 of On A Roll. \ gameboy2000 David Barkow returns with $178,500. David is on Level 4 and has one loss. \ koopakid17 Kevin Kolsen returns with $5000. Kevin is on Level 1 and also has one loss. \ After the main game, we're planning for a qualifying round in which the closest to the right answer, high or low, would play against David or Kevin. The next closest would play an audience audience and, if we can work the timing right, it will be Halloween-themed. \ We're back to the regular waiting list rules. So please consult DougMorris.net/oar before trying to qualify. \ But -- qualifying's later. David and Kevin, please come on up.

Staff announcer: Survivor and The Amazing Race -- back-to-back tomorrow night on TV5. (vamp to opening theme) (camera zooms in on Wally) Tiffany: Wally is about to reveal three letters... ...in the last name of a magician. If you know the name is.... If you know the name is... ...Doug Henning -- then you are -- ON A ROLL!
(opening theme plays; audience cheers) And here come the ladies to help us out. Today, Havana is at the game board... ...Ashley is at the dice table....Now, meet our host, ready to get on a roll, Doug Morris! (audience cheers) Thank you, Tiffany. Hellooooooo, everybody -- and welcome to On A Roll from our *new* home at the Haven Studios. (audience cheers) We have a rubber game of a match with -- today's rollers. (theme plays; audience applause) David Barkow and Kevin Kolsen are coming back to the dice table. David from Virginia is currently on Level 4 with $178,500 in cash and merchandise. (audience cheers) Kevin, who joined us on the last show from New York, is on Level 1 and won $5000 cash in the process. (audience cheers) You each have a loss against you, players. So, unless something goes haywire in this game, we'll be saying goodbye to the runner-up of this game. So we want to dive right into a main game -- with a name game. (FF reveal sfx)And we're starting with a famous person's nine-letter last name. Players, as you know, I'll ask a toss-up question -- and three letters in the last name will randomly appear. When they pop in, you may signal and give an answer. Good luck, players, and away we go. Who got on a roll -- after landing a role on the daytime drama "Search for Tomorrow"? (ding)
(David and Kevin, please PM me your buzz code from 1-100 and your answer.)

(buzz buzz)Shall we try the all-Anderson bit again from yesterday? (scattered laughter from crowd) We can't. That was a one-time sitch. Players, all kidding aside, I'll reveal three more letters after I repeat the question. You're on your own from there. Who got on a roll -- after landing a role on the daytime drama "Search for Tomorrow"?
(David and Kevin, please PM me your buzz code from 1-100 and your answer.)

(Kevin buzzes in)Kevin? Kevin: Krakowski (dings; audience applause)Jane Krakowski -- now the star of "Name That Tune" on another network. That's right. Okay, Kevin, four rolls of the dice are yours. Before Ashley gives you the dice, Havana, with a wave of the hand, will load up a game board. (Havana gestures; FF reveal sfx) Thanks, Havana. Three sets of clue words hidden by numbers. The clues lead to the identity of a person, place or thing. Kevin, as you know, you'll be rolling numbers and sums to uncover as many of the letters that make up the words as you can. The letters blocked by question marks stay blocked until you correctly solve a clue. When you're on a roll, please do not roll doubles. Anytime you roll doubles, you lose control of the dice to your opponent -- who picks up a free letter along the way. (Ashley hands dice to Kevin) So, with the rules out of the way, Kevin, you -- are on a roll. (audience cheers as...) (Kevin rolls)(audience groans)(buzz)Oh no! Doubles right out of the gate. Sorry about that. Players, please trade places -- early in the game. David, suddenly you're in the game. Before you take over the remaining three rolls of the round... ...please take one free letter.

(Havana touches screen)And it's a G. David, you may attempt to bring down the house and guess the middle clue if you'd like -- or roll the dice. Remember, players, anytime you're wrong on a guess of a clue or the overall puzzle, there's no penalty and you're still on a roll.

(audience cheers as...) (David rolls) And the first playable roll of this day is a 1 and a 4. This means you may take any 1 and any 4 off the board -- or you may play the sum and take any 5.

(Havana touches screen)We have an O... (Havana touches screen) ...and an H. (someone screams out "I-O" from offstage) (audience laughs and applauds)The Channel 10 crew from Columbus picked a great time to visit us today. They're doing a behind the scenes story about us. David, with that Buckeye cheer out of the way, you may guess the top clue if you'd like -- or take the final roll of the round.

(TPiR Pathfinder wrong move sfx)There's a John *Cooper* joke in there somewhere. (Channel 10 crew, and some OAR staffers, laugh along with some in audience) The Wolverines really had his number, ya see. John Doe's a great guess, David -- but, wrong. Last roll coming up. Let's see if you can make it a good one. (audience cheers as...) (David rolls) And -- a 6 and a 1... ...or a 7. The ones are gone and blocked already, David. But you may play a 6 or a 7.

(Havana touches screen)And we end the round with another O. Notice it's not a block O -- just saying. (Channel 10 crew laughs) David, now that we've made the Columbus folks really feel at home, we'll focus on the game here. You may guess the top clue if you'd like. A wrong guess or a pass means we play another name game with Kevin.

Okay, we'll leave the board as is. David's heading back to the buzzer. Kevin's ready for the next name game. So, let's bring it on. (FF reveal sfx)And here's an eight-letter answer. This question's a little long -- so play carefully. A father and son have been on a roll in the world of country music. What is their shared last name? (ding)
(David and Kevin, please PM me your buzz code from 1-100 and your answer.)

(Kevin buzzes in)Kevin? Kevin: Williams (dings; audience applause)That's right. Hank Williams Sr. and Hank Williams Jr. Okay, Kevin, Ashley's handing you the dice. Let's see if you have a luckier roll this time than last. You -- are on a roll. (audience cheers as...) (Kevin rolls)And -- better than last time -- a 5 and a 4... ...or a 9.

(dings; audience applause) That's it. Now, Kevin, three rolls are left in the round -- but you may not need them. If you can solve this puzzle right now, you'll become the new champion, you'll advance to Level 2, and you'll get an extra hint in Big 6.
