I am back and have decided to give this show a try after all. I had originally described it in the Coming Soon section back in February.
The idea of this game is to occupy as many of the 20 squares on the board with your designated color as possible. You win in one of two ways -- occupying the most squares in your color when there are no unoccupied squares remaining or being the last one standing after the others have been eliminated.
The game starts with each contestant occupying one of the four corners. The remaining 16 squares are available to be claimed. To gain control of the board, a contestant buzzes in to provide an answer to a given clue. The answer will always contain a color. A correct answer is worth $50. Here's an example:
Clue: A popular breakfast beverage Answer: Orange Juice
Once a contestant controls the board, they can decide to play or pass. If they play, random squares start to illuminate as the active square and the contestant must stop the board from shuffling, similar to what happens on Press Your Luck. If it stops on an unoccupied square, they take possession of that square in their color and earn money in the amount of the dollar value listed multiplied by the number of squares they were in possession of at the time. If they stop on one of their own squares, they are safe and that is worth $25. If however they stop on one of their opponent's squares, their game ends immediately and that opponent claims all of that contestant's squares in their own color. As the game progresses and there are fewer unclaimed spaces remaining, it is sometimes better to pass rather than play to put the pressure on one of your opponents, but this of course can backfire if your opponent lands on an unoccupied square.
The winner of the game earns an additional $50 for every square of their color that they possess. The first contestant to win 2 games becomes the defending champion and goes on to face the Bonus Board for a bonus of as much as $100,000.
I plan to use a similar AutoHotKey script to stop the board as I was using with Press Your Luck. I will also be using "buzz ranges" rather than asking you for buzz codes and here is how that will work:
The person who signs up first will be the Blue color with buzz codes ranging from 1 to 25. The person who signs up second will be the Red color with buzz codes ranging from 26 to 50. The person who signs up third will be the Yellow color with buzz codes ranging from 51 to 75. The person who signs up fourth will be the Green color with buzz codes ranging from 76 to 100. I will use a random number between 1 and 100 inclusive from Random.org to determine who has buzzed in.
I think that covers it. We will start this show as soon as we get 4 contestants.
Who would like to give this a go?

Thanks Immanuel! You will be the Yellow color.
We have only the Green color to go. I know, it's not easy being green, but who wants it?

(timpani drum roll as we open with a mostly dark studio and a wide shot of our players) Rich Fields: "Today, one of these four contestants will become our inaugural champion!" (camera zooms in to the left-most podium) "Will it be George Cluster, a singer and mahjong player from Spartanburg, South Carolina?" (camera pans right) "Will it be Bryan Law, a hospital housekeeper from Columbus, Mississippi?" (camera pans right) "Will it be Immanuel Tims, a souvenir shop retail worker from right here in Los Angeles, California?" (camera pans right) "Or will it be Nels Snesrud, a bowler from Eden Prairie, Minnesota?" (switch to wide shot of the studio as the lights are about to come up) "From Television City in Hollywood, it's time for some Color Wars!" - (audience begins continuous applause) - "And now, here's our own General in charge of these battles, the host of Color Wars, Jack Thompson!" - (continued applause as our giant video board raises and I emerge from the back of the studio and walk underneath it as it then returns to its original position behind me) - Let's keep that applause going for our beloved announcer Rich Fields ladies and gentlemen! - (applause continues) - I want to welcome you all to the premiere episode of Color Wars! Ours is a simple game, but it can produce high levels of tension and intrigue as it plays out. The goal is to be the contestant occupying the most number of squares on our game board at the end of the game. That person wins the game. The first person to win two games is the champion. It's as simple as that. You get control of the board by correctly answering a clue that always has a color as part of its answer. Before we begin though, let's first chat with our contestants, beginning with Mr. George Cluster! - (audience applauds) - George, welcome to our show! It says here you are a singer! What types of music do you like to sing to? Are you in a band perhaps?

I sing mainly gospel songs. I am currently a free agent looking for a band to let me sing full time.

That is awesome and I hope your free agency ends soon and you find a band you love! Good luck on our show today George!
Next, we have Mr. Bryan Law! - (audience applauds) -
Welcome Bryan! The title alone of hospital housekeeper sounds to me like a lot of work. I bet taking care of a hospital must keep you very busy.

(I glare over at the producer's table and then turn back to Bryan)
I apologize for that mistake Bryan, I guess Rich got bad intel on that one. I bet you are chomping at the bit for the start of football season. I am into the NFL myself plus I don't do well in the summer heat, so I can't wait for September! Best of luck to you today Bryan!
Up next, we have Immanuel Tims! - (audience applauds) -
Welcome Immanuel! If I'm not mistaken, you are about to begin college soon are you not? You must be excited! Any idea what your major will be yet?

That sounds incredible Immanuel! I'm sure it will be hard work, but it sounds like it's going to be a whole bunch of fun as well! Best of luck to you both in college and on our show today!
Our fourth contestant is Nels Snesrud! - (audience applauds) -
It says here you are a bowler Nels. Tell us a bit about your best-ever game of bowling. Have you ever come close to a perfect game of nothing but strikes?

That's interesting, I had never heard of 9-pin bowling before. You've given me something to Google later, so thanks for that! - (audience chuckles) - Gentlemen, it's a pleasure to have you all here! I wish you all good luck! Let's load the board and prepare for battle!!
As you can see, we have plenty of spaces with dollar amounts available to be claimed. If you stop the board on one of these spaces, you earn money in the amount listed on that space multiplied by the number of squares you were occupying at the time. So, for example, if you already controlled 5 squares and then landed on the $200 space, that would earn you a thousand dollars.
At the moment, you each control one of the corner squares. On each turn, you must decide whether to play or pass. If you play, you must either land on a square that can be claimed, which are the ones with the dollar signs or you must land on a square you already own, which will earn you $25. If you land on any of your opponent's squares at any time during the game, you are immediately eliminated, although you get to keep any money you've earned to that point. Instead, you can pass and force one of your opponents to play. This can backfire on you though if your opponent finds one of the dollar sign squares. You can pass at any time, but this is generally done later in the game once there are not as many dollar sign squares available.
In order to have control of the board, you must ring in and correctly answer one of our "color clues" where the answer to the clue will contain some color.
Hopefully that all made sense, if not, you'll get the hang of it as we go along.
Once again, good luck gents! Hands on buzzers please because each correct answer is worth $50 and here's your first clue:
This movie was the first installment of the film series with the protagonist Jack Ryan.
Immanuel?

"Give us a ping Vasily. One ping only."
It's one of my all-time favorite movies, if you haven't seen it, Red October is a must-watch for sure.
You get first control of the board George. Would you like to play or pass?
(NOTE: When playing, give me a number from 5 to 15 which will represent the spin time before stopping the board. So, for example, to have it spin for 12 seconds, you'd respond with PLAY 12. For this first spin I will do a video showing you what happens behind the scenes when I spin the board. I won't be doing a video every time though as rendering videos is too time consuming.)

Well, you might think about going to get a lottery ticket George. You had a 1 in 20 chance of hitting your own square, but you done did it! - (audience chuckles) -
Fifty bucks for every correct answer and twenty-five for hitting one of your own squares gives you seventy-five to start George.
Here's our next clue.
This was the sixth studio album by American singer, songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist Prince.
