Based off the modern board game of the same name created by Mordecai Meirowitz in 1970, our version pits two players against each other trying to solve 5-digit number puzzles. Control of the board is decided by buzzing in and answering general trivia questions. The first player to solve the 5-digit puzzle wins points and money for the round. If nobody solves it after 5 guesses, no points or money are awarded for the round.
We play 3 rounds where players earn $100 per point in Round 1. Points and money are doubled in Round 2 ($200 per point) and tripled in Round 3 ($300 per point). The player with the most points after Round 3 wins the game, earns a $1,000 bonus for the win, becomes the defending champion and plays in the Master Round for a chance at $100,000! If the score is tied after 3 rounds, we play a 1-guess Sudden Death round to determine a winner.
Who would like to try this? I need 2 players please and when you sign up, please PM me 5 buzz-in codes.

(dim lights with drum roll)
Shadoe Stevens: Today!
These two contestants will battle each other testing their skills at solving number puzzles. Only one will prevail with a chance at winning more than $100,000 and becoming our
Master Mind! - (theme begins with audience applause as the lights brighten) - Here now the man presiding over the puzzles, the host of Master Mind, Jack Thompson! - (continued theme and applause)
Thank you so much ladies and gentlemen and please keep that applause going for our announcer, the legend himself, Mr. Shadoe Stevens! - (continued applause)
Thank you again and welcome to Master Mind! It's a simple game invented in 1970 by Mordecai Meirowitz
that involved guessing a combination of colors in as few guesses as possible. There have been various versions of the game over the years. In the picture we are showing you here, as you can see the player gets up to 12 guesses and here, it took them half of those to figure out the green-blue-red-purple combination in this case. In our game of Master Mind however, there are a total of 5 guesses in each round and we don't use colors.
(bliiiiiiing)
We use numbers! Each round will play out similarly to the last as our players will try to solve the 5-digit puzzle. All puzzles will be in the range of 12345 through 98765 with no repeating numbers in them, otherwise there would be way too many combinations to make it a fair game. Also, just like how differently colored pegs would indicate the accuracy of a player's guess on the board game, our computer will help our players by giving them information relating to their guesses. The faster you solve it, the more points and money you get, it's as simple as that.
Speaking of our players, let's meet our two challengers now, beginning with Mr. Raymond Weaver! - (audience applauds) - Raymond, it's a pleasure to have you here on Master Mind - please tell us a bit about yourself and also any experience you've had playing the board game version in the past.

Well hopefully you'll enjoy playing this puzzle game as well. Best of luck to you too Shederick!
Our first round puzzle is worth 5 points to start and loses a point in value with each incorrect guess. Whichever one of you solves it first gets the points along with a payout of $100 per point. Who gets to guess first you ask? Well, we use some trivia questions to decide that. Let's take a look at the categories involved in today's game.
(bling)
We have Animals, Geography, Oddball, Science and Sports to choose from - those are the 5 categories in play for each round of the show. Raymond, you won a coin toss backstage, so you get to choose our first category of the day. Be ready to buzz in though players as whomever rings in first will get to answer the question. Answer it correctly and you get first guess at the 5-digit puzzle. Answer it incorrectly and your opponent gets to guess.
Raymond, which category please sir?

Alright, hands on buzzers gentlemen, this question will decide who gets the first crack at our first puzzle!
Dump, floater, and wipe are terms used in which team sport?

No, those terms are used in volleyball.
Shederick, we are talking lottery odds here, but if you can somehow get lucky and guess the 5-digit number right off the bat, you'd have $500 and a 5-point lead. Remember always guess 5 different digits as no numbers repeat in the puzzle. What do you say Shederick?

Alright, could that possibly be right? - (bzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz) - Yeah kind of astronomical odds there, but let's find out some information about this guess please.
(ding)
Okay, so the green number on the right indicates that one of them was in the right position, in this case it's the 3 which has now turned green as well. The red number on the right means that one of the other 4 numbers (the 1, the 7, the 5 or the 6) is also part of the puzzle, but should be in a different position. This also means that 3 of those 4 white numbers are not in the puzzle.
Shederick, it's your choice of category now for the next question.

Does Shederick have it this time for 4 points? - (bzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz) - Nope, let's see how you did on this guess.
(ding)
Interesting, still just the 3 in the right spot, although 2 of the 4 other numbers are in it now. You kept the 6 from the first guess, that could be right but it might not be.
Raymond, it's your choice of category for question 3.
Animals, Geography or Science - what do you fancy Raymond?

You got it.
Time for your first crack at the puzzle Raymond. All we know for sure is that the middle digit is a 3. Shederick tried the 6 in the first and last position, but neither turned green which means either the 6 belongs as the 2nd or 4th number or it's not in the puzzle at all. Of the numbers 6, 8, 9 and 0, we know 2 of those are in the puzzle in some other position. What's your first guess Raymond?

9-6-3-2-4 is Raymond's first attempt - how about that, is that right? - (bzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz) - Let's have the info now, please.
(ding)
Wow, that is almost hard to believe! 3 guesses in and still just the lone digit in the right spot! We know more now though as this time, of the 2, 4, 6 and 9, we know two of those are in it somewhere. I don't know the answer either, but I worry about that 6 personally. Back in that first guess, Shederick chose the 6 as the one that was in the wrong spot, but now we know it's either supposed to be the 4th digit or it's not in the puzzle at all, which would mean there's either a 1, 7 or 5 in the solution. Lots to ponder there.
Shederick, your choice of category for the 4th question please sir.
