2023 is upon us folks! For most of us, the new year is here in just a few hours. But for me on the west coast, I have a ways to go.
Posting signups for the next edition of The Price is Right. It's about time we have a regular show once again for a while. I need some folks to get this party started. Who wants in?

And $700. *ding* The bids are in. What's the price? I'll tell you! The actual retail price is... Six hundred, eighty nine dollars! Matt wins it! *dings, cod cue, cheers* Well Bill, in all fairness, you have 5 more swings at it, so don't beat yourself up about being over by ten dollars, same to you Mr. Skinner. Now Matt, you're about to play pricing-game-of-the-year number one, and if you win the game, you win this! George: A home office!*prize cue, cheers* The Magnolia Manor Home Office Set by Liberty Furniture in a European Traditional style, is made of poplar solids with white oak veneers top and birch veneers. A beautiful set that will make your home office a unique space to get inspired, it features framed front drawers, canted corners, and bracket feet, with two display shelves, complemented with bail pull and knob hardware in antique pewter. It's a prize package worth...$4,664!
*applause* And now...time for my least favorite pricing game: Balance Game...yay.
*laughter*
No, this is a great game in it's own way, just very confusing so pay attention: You want to balance the scale. We have 5 prizes here, and you're gonna place the prizes on each side to balance the scale. The idea is to try and place prizes of the same price on either side to balance it.
Now, I'm going to give you five Barker Dollars, the namesake Barker of course is Mr. Tree Barker.
*laughter*
I'm kidding of course, it's the namesake of the one and only Bob Barker. At any point, if the scale isn't balanced, but the difference between the 2 scales is $5, you can place the Barker Dollars into a scale to try and balance it. What are the 5 prizes we're using for this playing today?
*prize cue*
George: Designed with an efficient High Performance Digital Motor, this vacuum delivers the maximum cleaning power you need for any job on any floor type. Its Dual Cyclonic DustVault Technology lets you clean confidently by capturing 99.4% of dirt and dust1 with No Loss of Suction2.

Drilling holes on a wall is a piece of cake if you use the Black & Decker 12V Cordless Lithium-Ion Drill. Equipped with a 550 RPM motor, it boasts of 11 clutch positions that offer all-round performance.
Prepare smoothies quickly with this KitchenAid three-speed ice crushing blender. The asymmetric blades operate at four different angles to pull ice to the center for uniform crushing, and the dual-purpose jar converts into a container after blending to store fruit juices.
This handsome Kettle Popcorn Cart from Nostalgia Electrics Vintage Collection gives a nod to the era of silent movies and carnivals. Add to the fun of your next party, event or movie night with delicious, freshly popped popcorn.
And there they are, Immanuel!
Good luck, Matt. What prize do you want to start with?

MP3 Player on the left.

|
Post by babytims on Jan 4, 2023 22:32:22 GMT -5
What's the price of the MP3 Player? *ding* $85 goes into the left side of the scale.Now...let's try and balance the scale, pick a prize that's about $85, if not exact.

The drill on the right.
|
|
|
Post by babytims on Jan 5, 2023 11:13:21 GMT -5
How much is the drill? *ding* $75. We put that on the other side of the scale, making it somewhat balanced. Now you can't balance the scale with the Barker dollars, because you don't have enough. However, you still have 3 prizes. Now what you can do is put an expensive prize on one side of the scale, and load the other side with other less-expensive prizes, or put 2 seemingly expensive prizes on the scale. Either way, you still want the scales to balance so each side will display the same total. Which prize next? *audience shouts suggestions*
