Greetings, all, and thanks for the kind words after yesterday's announcement I'll be hosting Three on a Match. billmcdee, we hope to do you proud. To clarify, per the NGC rules, starting 3OAM requires me to let go of something else -- and "something else" will be Spin-Off. Some elements involving "the ace through nine" will be reactivated in special games of On A Roll. As for 3OAM, we've got miles to go before we start a pilot. So, to whet everyone's appetite, we're go to play the bonus game plus some special games here. We'll start with the bonus game. It's going to be a combination of the bonus games from the unsold pilots of "Money in the Blank" (which borrowed from 3OAM) and "Eye Q" (which taped on the same set at MITB). So, who wants to try it first?

(audience cheers)Welcome back to Three on a Match. Bryan Law just made the first match in our game. That means you have a chance to win up to $10,000... ...from this board. Now, you won the game with 60 unspent dollars. For winning the game, you were awarded $500. So, your total winnings coming to this board... (ding)...are $560. Now, you'll be spending that money on single digit numbers from 1 through 9 inclusive -- and with no duplicates. The price for each number is $100. The moment you buy three numbers in a row -- straight across, up and down, or diagonally -- we move to the next phase of the game. Here's the catch. The numbers are totally placed at random. That means the 5 is not necessarily in the center box, the 2 is not necessarily above the center box, and the 8 is not necessarily below the center box. All that *could* be true -- but it's unlikely. Make sense so far?

I think so. Let's go.

Okay, before you start buying numbers, there's one more thing... ...in the main game, if your first three picks match, you'd win a $50,000 bonus. But on this board, if your first three picks end up in a row, you'd win a $50,000 bonus. (audience cheers)So good luck -- and start buying.
Bryan, you may buy as many as three boxes in one reply. I'd recommend two to start out. No matter how and what you buy, please respond with "$100 on the X" -- with X manually replaced with the number of your choosing.

$100: X on number two.

(ding) The 2 is in the middle row and the right-hand column. So if you buy the two numbers in the middle row or the two numbers in the right column, you're $50,000 richer.

So I pick two more numbers right?

You may buy two more numbers in one post -- or just keep going one at a time.

(ding) (scattered groans) Fiddlesticks. Opposite corner. (ding)Okay, got some hope there. So if you buy the middle number, you've got a diagonal. If you buy the upper right number, you've got a vertical. So, please put another $100 on -- what number?

(ding) Next door to the 8. You can buy one more number, Bryan. Three numbers will help, two won't.

(ding) (dings; audience applause) Nine completes a vertical line on the right. Good job. Now for the next phase in the game. In addition to the single digit numbers, we've loaded the board with thousands of dollars in cash awards. They range in value from $1000 up to $10,000. Those cash awards are attached to the single digit numbers up there -- even the numbers you didn't buy. But let's focus on the numbers you bought -- even if they're not in the right column. You'll select up to three visible numbers one at a time. Once you pick a number, we reveal the cash award in its box. You'll then have the option to stop and keep the money -- or give the money back to us and try to collect the $10,000. Please start, Bryan, by selecting a visible number.

Starting with number 2 -- where we find... (ding)...$3000. Now -- you can stop here and take the $3000 -- or try for something better. If you decide to play on, you'll have two chances left. What'cha think? (audience shouts susggestions)

They talked you into playing on. Did you trade up in the process, Brian? (ding)(audience groans) No -- traded down to a grand. Bryan, there is good news. $1000 is the lowest amount on the board *and* there are no duplicates among the cash awards. So, might as well trade in the money... ...for which number? This is your last pick, by the way. (audience shouts suggestions)

Going with 3. This means you end up... (dings; audience applause) ...$4000 richer. Congratulations, Bryan. Where was the $10,000? Oh, it was attached to a number you didn't buy. Number 7... ...had the ten grand. [NOTE FROM DOUG: Should a player make one match in a game, you've just seen the bonus game the contestant gets to play. Should a player make *TWO* matches in a game, the contestant takes the championship and plays Three in a Row (working title for this game) for bigger stakes. How big? Observe...]
(audience cheers) Welcome back to Three on a Match. Bryan Law is our new champion. You racked up $210 in one fell swoop and *nearly* got the instant match bonus of $50,000. But you finished that game with... ...$100. We add $500 for winning the game... (ding)...so you've got $600 to play with. As before, you're going to buy numbers from 1 through 9 inclusive. They're shuffled and in no particular order. For making two matches and winning the game, you're playing for bigger stakes. So when you get three numbers in a row, you'll have up to three chances to win $30,000. (audience cheers)And of course, if you first three picks are in a row, that's an instant $50,000 payoff. (audience cheers)You've already got $4060 in the bank. Let's go after more.
Bryan, as before, please buy one, two, or three numbers. Remember to say "100 on the (number)".

(ding)(scattered groans) Top center. Well -- obviously -- the $50,000 bonus is out of reach. You can still afford four numbers -- so let the buying spree continue.
