(dings; audience applause) Great. Got all three numbers we hid in the left column. Now for the next phase, Kourtney. As you know, we've hidden thousands of dollars in cash. Since you've won the championship, the values range from $3000 to $30,000. Just select any number, we'll reveal the cash award in that box, and then you'll have the option to stop and keep that money -- or give it back to us for another number and another cash prize. Thirty grand's waiting to be won, Kourtney. I hope it's attached to a number you bought. So, please select any visible number.

Starting at the very beginning -- in more ways than one. Is it a very good place to start? (ding)Good to the tune of $4000. Kourtney, you may stop and take the $4000 -- or give it back and try to trade up? (audience shouts suggestions)

Trading back the five large. Which means you end this game up with... (dings; audience applause) ...$8000 -- congratulations. Kourtney, this means your total winnings increase to... ...$10,510. (more applause) Now, where did we hide the $30,000 this time? Oh -- looks like it was in a box you didn't buy with the 2... ...and there it is. We'll be back with more 3OAM in a moment. (audience cheers; theme plays)

Okay, hope you like Three in a Row. Leave me a PM dougmorrisontheair your thoughts on 3OAM -- so far. Now we're going to try a mini-bonus game a la the special games we all saw on HR87. This is a game called Feeling Lucky? It's based upon an audience game from my first few forays into netgames here and, previously, Big Jon's board. We'd likely make this part of the game after a contestant leads one match to none. Before one can play Feeling Lucky?, or a similar game, one must buy the three boxes that contain the name of the game. So, let's say I have $190 and decided to go to the big board. I'll start with $40 on the yellow. (buzz)Nice start, Morris!!!! Okay, let's try $40 on the blue. (ding)Annnd there's the special Feeling Lucky? symbol. I need to find its matching mates in the left and center columns to (a) score a match and (b) play Feeling Lucky? So I'll try $30 on the blue. (ding)Pot of gold. Obviously not a match. BTW, the overall theme of the pictures on the board is lucky things. I'll try -- $30 on the red. (ding)Got a Feeling Lucky? symbol. Just need one more and I've got $50 to go. Let's try $20 on the yellow. (ding)Lucky cat. Ohhhh -- let's try -- $20 on the green. (dings) There's three on a match -- and now to play Feeling Lucky? But first, just to show you the fourth image in this theme... ...four-leaf clover. Oh, and you noticed the light heading the $20 column went out. That's to indicate three boxes have been picked in that column -- closing said column. So, with *that* demonstrated, who wants to play Feeling Lucky?

(audience cheers)We're back -- and before Chris plays Three in a Row, our champion is going to play Feeling Lucky? -- after buying the right boxes. In order to play Feeling Lucky?, we're going to give you a head start of... (ding)...$20 and two free boxes. Those stars just below the $20 blue box indicate the freebies. We'll talk more about them later. You'll start by putting your $20 on one of the boxes in the left column. All of those boxes are lucky. But some boxes are luckier than others. So -- just go ahead and put your money on a box, please.

Post by dougmorrisontheair on Apr 27, 2022 21:54:41 GMT -5
We'll take that to mean $20 on the red... (ding; audience applause)...and you've found $1000. Easiest $980 gain ever. Chris, we now move on to the middle column. And this is where the free boxes come into play. Two of the boxes in the $30 column are lucky; they each contain horseshoes. The remaining two boxes contain stop signs; they're unlucky -- and the stop signs will reduce your $1000 to zilch. So, here's the option. You may stop now and keep the $1000 -- or use a freebie to try and double up to $2000. (audience shouts suggestions)
Chris, in the event you decide to play on, please indicate same and then say "$30 on the (color of your choice)".

(ding; audience applause)There it is -- $2000. Now to the last column. Let's see how lucky you really feel. In the $40 column, we just have one horseshoe and three stop signs. Find a stop sign and you lose the $2000. But find the lone horseshoe and we quadruple your winnings to $8000. So -- you may end the game right here $2000 to the good -- or go for it and try to find the horseshoe. (audience shouts suggestions)

Keeping the money. (audience cheers)[NOTE FROM DOUG: In regular game play, the $2000 from this sidebar game wouldn't be spendable at Three in a Row. The $500 we award plus any money leftover after making three on a match would be spendable.]
$2000 are in your coffers. But before we continue, Chris, we *are* Dennis Murphy types of folks -- (scattered laughter) -- who adhere to the belief your right to know overrides your right to exist. If you went for it, you would've used your last freebie on which box?

$40 on the blue would have... ...struck you out of the game. (audience cheers)
Just to prove we had an honest game... The cash awards ranged from 1000 to 2500. The randomization just happened to put 'em in order from low to high. BTW, the stop sign is inspired by the "STOP!" card from Eye Guess. In one version of EG's bonus game, the "STOP!" just stopped the game and the main game winner kept any prizes won from the bonus game. In the next version, "STOP!" reportedly forfeited any prizes collected. So, we're about to reset this Feeling Lucky? board. Anyone else want to try?

Glad you had fun, Immanuel. Nels, here's your board. We start you off with $20 and two free boxes. If you'd like, you may use a free box in the $30 column and another freebie in the $40 column. First, the $20 column. All the boxes there are lucky -- but some are luckier than others. Which box would you like?
(Please remember to say "$20 on the (color)".)

$20 on the red means you're starting off with. (ding; audience applause)...$1500. Now to the $30 column. This is where we start using the free boxes. If you want to play on, two boxes have horseshoes, the other two have stop signs. Find a horseshoe and your money doubles to $3000. Find a stop sign -- and the game ends *plus* you lose the $1500. So -- end the game now and keep $1500 -- or try to double up to $3000? (audience shouts suggestions)

$30 on *money* green, we hope. (ding; audience applause)Yeppers! Now the $40 column's active. In the $40 column there's just one horseshoe and three stop signs. If you find the horseshoe, your money quadruples -- to $12,000. (scattered cheers) If you find one of the three stop signs, you lose your three large. So -- take the money and end the game here -- or go all the way and try for 12 grand? (audience shouts suggestions)

Can I play a different bonus game

|
|
Post by dougmorrisontheair on May 1, 2022 20:06:59 GMT -5
Can I play a different bonus game Sure thing, Nels. Just finished redoing the artwork for... ...Double Dollars. This is another resurrected audience game from a few years back rebooted for this version of 3OAM. As with Feeling Lucky?, you'd have to put your money on the boxes that hide the name of the game. The other symbols for this board represent currency in Japan, Britain, and much of Europe (the ¥/yen, £/British pound sterling, and €/euro, respectively). For the curious, we did try for a "Trigun" theme with photos of three characters -- including Vash, targeted for a bounty of "sixty billion double dollars". But we couldn't find anything of quality. Maybe later. So, Nels, let's say you won a game uncovering those three special symbols... ...and here's your new board. In this game, all the boxes you pick are for free. You may pick all four boxes from a column if you'd like. In eight of the boxes are cash awards ranging in value from $1000 to $10,000 -- with some duplicates. In two of the remaining boxes, we have "double" cards which, obviously, will double the dollars you've uncovered to that point. The remaining two boxes hide stop signs -- which end the game and take away your money. So after you've doubled up or uncovered money, you may stop. Nels, when you're ready, please start by picking "$x0 on the (color)".
