After a slight delay, we're ready to roll out Episode 12 of Crag: The Numbers Game. Some notes are in order.
\ Marc Enyedy returns with two match wins and $79,300. If he wins this match and the next two, he retires undefeated and wins a new Ferrari.
\ We still can't seem to find Matt Johnson. If you hear from him, please have him give me a buzz.
We shall proceed with a qualifying question. The player closest to the right answer, high or low, plays against Marc. Here's your question.
Before the show, a member of our Crag staff rolled three money dice based on the currency from the "Dragon Ball" anime franchise. The numbers 1 through 6 were replaced with, respectively, 100 Zeni, 150 Zeni, 250 Zeni, 300 Zeni, 400 Zeni and 500 Zeni. What is the sum of the staffer's single roll of the three dice? Please respond in increments of 50 Zeni and make sure your answer is higher than 250 Zeni and lower than 1550 Zeni.
This game operates on 24-hour deadlines. Please PM me your answer in 24 hours from now.

All right, everyone's answers are in. Let's go to the answer first. (Dinah shakes up bucket; pours dice down ramp) That's our producer, Dinah Charles, rolling a pair of 300s and another 150 to boot for a total of... (ding)... 750 Zeni. Who's the closest? 850 LeafA1996 850 CCSCO ("Greed" tie sfx)We have a tie for the closest between Leaf and Clément. Rules say the player who messaged me sooner takes the edge. Who dat? 850 LeafA1996
It's Leaf Appolo. Sorry, Clément. If someone wins the match in a two-game sweep, we'll try to make time for an audience game and let you play in said game. Meantime, the main event between Mark and Leaf starts after station identification.
Announcer: Missoula's top-rated 4:00 p.m. newscast is on KX4. (lights in studio gradually are turned on)
(audience cheers)Olá a todos. I'm Doug Morris and this is Crag: The Numbers Game -- where 13 can be your lucky number. Or as they would call that number in Brazil -- treze. For those wondering why we're trying to slip in some Portuguese, we've been in talks in selling Crag: The Numbers Game to a network in Brazil. What would they call Crag in Brazil, Dinah? Dinah: (off camera) Penhasco!Penhasco! Well, we have to put our lesson and negotiations on hold -- because we have two contestants ready to win some money and perhaps move closer to winning a new set of wheels. Please make welcome our returning champion -- a winner of two matches and $79,300 in cash -- Marc Enyedy. Playing against him is Leaf Apollo. (audience cheers)Looks like we have a match where the bragging rights to New Jersey are at stake. Leaf, as I understand it, you're from Atlantic City. Please tell us about yourself.

Indeed so! I'm Leaf Apollo, currently a college student majoring in graphic design. One of my favorite hobbies is running a gaming channel on Youtube with some of my college buddies. I've been dating my wonderful girlfriend Daisy for what will be 5 months at the end of this week, and I'm hoping I can win big tonight!

Ah, well congratulations to you and Daisy. May the two of you share lots of love and lots of laughter.
If this were Penhasco, Silvio Santos might wish you "boa sorte" -- instead, I'll wish you good luck. I'll also wish the same good luck to our returning champion, Marc.
Congratulations on a fine win on the last show -- topped off by more than $59,000 in the Super Crag. For any new viewers tuning in, please tell them about yourself.

Ah, great news for you. Hope that all leads to great and rewarding work. Marc, Leaf, it's time to start our first numbers game. Much like the regular dice game of Crag, our game is about numbers -- particularly the numbers you can roll on dice. The right answer to every question on our show is a number between 1 and 6 inclusive. Sometimes, we'll ask for the ordinal or Roman numeral equivalent of one of those numbers -- and then there are the missing digit questions to watch out for. I'll explain how they work when we get there. (ding)One question mark's on the board. That represents the right answer to a single digit question. For the chance to roll the Crag dice, you must chime in with the right answer to this Round 1 query. Single digit question: How many times was the late Ronald Reagan married during his lifetime? 41 marc412 05 LeafA1996 80 randomizer.org(Marc buzzes in)Marc?

Marc says 2. Is he right? (ding; audience applause)Yes. His first wife was Jane Wyman. Roughly three years after their divorce, he married the former Nancy Davis. Marc, as you know with that right answer, you have two rolls of the dice to score a Crag. And as you'll take a look at the big screen here, these are the ways to score big on Crag. There are four different straights worth 20 points each in Crag. The numbers 1-2-3 make a low straight; 4-5-6 a high straight; 1-3-5 an odd straight and 2-4-6 an even straight. It doesn't matter how you roll those numbers on the board -- just as long as they're all different and they're all low, high, odd or even. Anytime you roll three of the same number, that's a triple for 25 points. And as I noted at the start of the show, 13, or treze, is a lucky number in Crag. Anytime the dice total 13, we'll double the sum for 26 points. *But* if you have a pair of numbers and an odd number total 13 on the board, that's a Crag -- and it's worth 50 big points. (audience cheers)(rolling sfx)Marc, here come the first of your two rolls. Stop them one at a time with your buzzer, please. (ding)Starting off with a 1. (ding) (scattered cheers) Got *another* 1. (ding) (scattered groans) And a 3 on the end. Well -- obviously not one of the combinations worth 20 or more. Marc, as you know, you may end the round here and take the sum of the dice in points -- a whopping 5 in this case (scattered laughter from the crowd) -- or you may freeze up to two dice and reroll the rest. I have an idea of what you want to do -- but ya gotta tell me what ya want to do.

All right, that means we'll freeze the 2 on the right as well as the 3. (freeze sfx)Those dice will not reroll. That 2 on the left will reroll now. (rolling sfx)And let's see if you stop on a 1 for a low straight. (ding) (scattered groans) Broke even. It's another 2. Seven more points in the champ's coffers. Marc leads 23 to nothing. Let's see if Leaf's luck changes with a Crag's List question. Let's see what's on the list today. (ding)Looks like names of cities -- Columbus, Cleveland, Laurel, Madison, Long Beach and Philadelphia. Now -- I'll ask a single digit question. The right answer will indicate 1, some or all 6 cities actually belong on Crag's List. And here's that question. How many of these are actual names of cities or towns in the state of Mississippi? 40 marc412 77 LeafA1996 11 randomizer.org(Marc buzzes in)Marc?

Champ says all 6 should stay on Crag's List. If that's right, a bell will sound, nothing will disappear and we'll go to the dice again. Are all 6 of these in Mississippi? (ding; audience applause) Yes. Columbus is in northeastern Mississippi -- part of the Golden Triangle. Cleveland's in the Delta or northwest part of the state. I have family in and near Laurel -- about an hour and a half north of the coast. Long Beach is one of the coastal cities. Madison's near Jackson. Philadelphia's pretty close to the middle of the state. (rolling sfx)Marc, once again, the dice are yours. (ding)Starting with a 6 this time. (ding)There's a 2. (ding)And there's another 2. Dice total 10 points if you stop here.

All righty then. We'll put the 6 on ice. (freeze sfx) (rolling sfx)Other dice reroll. Let's see what happens. (ding)There's a 3. (ding)There's a 2. Well -- at least you traded up to 11 points. After Round 3: marc412 LeafA1996Marc now has 34. Leaf, I see you try to buzz in. Champ's been a little hotter with the trigger. Let's try a missing digit question. You guys know how this works. For those who don't, here's a sample. (ding)As we continue negotiations with the folks in Brazil, this is the year Rio de Janeiro will host the Olympics. All you have to do is tell me the missing digit represented by the question mark. And unless they plan these things way in advance... (ding)...yeah, the right answer here is 2. Now for the intended query in Round 4. Missing digit question: According to The Bible, Methuselah lived for a long time. I'll show you his age at the time of his death -- and you tell me the missing digit.(ding)74 marc412 42 LeafA1996 45 randomizer.org(Leaf buzzes in)Leaf breaks on through finally -- and says...

Leaf guesses 6. Did Methuselah live to the ripe old age of 969? (ding; audience applause)Yes. Good guess. (rolling sfx)Leaf, you're about to get on the scoreboard. Let's see how many points you'll claim in this round. (Leaf, please "stop the dice" by responding with three letters from A through F inclusive. You may repeat letters if you think it will help you.)

(buzz buzz) Ohh -- no decision in time. That means we end the round and put 12 points in Leaf's coffers. Marc still leads as we go to Round 4 -- and a question on sports. Missing digit question: On the big screen, I'll show you a headline from the sports section of The Crag Chronicle, our newspaper. This particular issue was published January 20th, 2014 -- one day after an exciting football game. Tell me the missing digit, represented by the underscore, in the headline.(ding)14 marc412 66 LeafA1996 28 randomizer.org(Marc buzzes in)Marc?

Marc says a 2 should fill in the blank of that headline. Did the 12th man help the Seahawks win that game? (ding; audience applause)Yes indeed. The Crag Chronicle, by the way, is available at a newsstand somewhere here in Rancho Cucamonga. (scattered laughter from the crowd) (rolling sfx)Marc goes back to the dice. Let's see how many points you can get out of them this time.
