40 on the Red... (flip) (audience chuckles) How'd my I.D. photo get up there? This is supposed to be a monster board. Where to next James?

30 on the Blue... (flip) (applause) Well well James, you've just won yourself an instant prize. This is yours to keep no matter what, and here's Frank to tell you all about it. Frank Caliendo (as Don Pardo): It's a gas grill. Frank Caliendo (as Don Pardo): From Napoleon, quality and performance go into each grill head. Napoleon grill heads come with the highest standard components, featuring our heavy duty stainless steel cooking system, ergonomic control knobs, LIFT EASE roll top lid, and rear rotisserie burner for restaurant style results. $1,250. (applause) We add that to your prize ledger James, again, the prize values do not affect the score money, but the prizes are all yours, come what may. Now let's see what's behind 30 on the Blue... (flipadeedoodah) Count Dracula. Three picks remaining James, nothing paired up just yet...where to now?

Here is 20 on the Blue... (flip) Another "me". There may be one more in the 30 column, but we can't be totally sure, since there's a NO MATCH card revealed. It's up to you James, how do you want to play it now?

30 on the Green for a match... (flip) That's a match!, PLUS the $500 bonus! (applause) Well James, Mark's misfortune with the lose a turn became your good fortune, you picked up a prize plus $875 in score money, which now puts you back into the lead again... Up to $1,175 for the moment, but still lots more game to play. Players, lock in your codes for the next question please... Michael going very low with 3, Mark very high with 70, James with 10, low, but in this case it's the middle number. Let's see who will get control of this question.... It's Mark again. Mark, in the game of chess, all of the following pieces can move more than one space at a time, with the exception of which piece? The King, the Queen, the Bishop or the Knight? Which one can only move one space at a time?

I just played chess yesterday at my work during a break so I should know this. I will say the Knight

|
Post by billmcdee on Mar 26, 2015 2:23:01 GMT -5
Is the knight the piece that can move only one space at a time?
(buzzer)
Oh no. The Knight always moves in an "L" shape, 1 space to the left or right plus 2 spaces forward or backward, or 2 spaces to the left or right plus 1 space forward or backward.
Michael, you're next in trying to answer this question. Which piece, the King, Queen or Bishop can move only 1 space at a time in the game of chess?

Indeed it is the King! (applause) Ironic when you think about it. Michael, as Mark missed the question, you get to select one money card from the 5 above me. Which color do you choose?

The biggest money card up there! $300, bringing you up to $800 now. This is a very good horse race so far! Let's see if perhaps Michael can make an instant match and win that $2,500 Instant Match cash jackpot, not affecting the score of the game itself of course. Please select your first box champ!

Here is 30 on the Yellow... (flip) An instant prize for you Michael! Frank, tell him what he's just won! Frank Caliendo (as Don Pardo): It's a croquet set. Frank Caliendo (as Don Pardo): From FifthRoom, this eight player croquet set comes complete with balls, mallets, stake and carrying case. Hours of outdoor enjoyment from FifthRoom, $450. (applause) You'll definitely have a ball with that prize (audience moans) Yours to keep, win or lose this game... Now let's see what picture is behind that instant prize... (re-flip) (gasping) Michael, if there is a WC in that last column, and if you find him on this next pick, you will score $750, plus win the Instant Jackpot of $2,500 in cash, plus you'll automatically qualify to play for the car and $50,000 in cash in our end game, if you make it to the end game today! Look it over, and where to now?

40 on the Green it shall be for our impersonator! Let's hope the one he was impersonating is behind there, for an instant match and a $2,500 bonus! 40 on the Green! (moans in the audience) That's a real bummer. WC MAY still be somewhere in the 40 column, then again the No Match card might have replaced that 3rd image of WC. How do you want to play it champ?

I'd rather that No Match card be in Philadelphia.
(audience laughter & applause)
(back to my regular voice) All kidding aside, I'll go for 40 on the red.

Good stuff! 40 on the Red... (flip) The board must have heard you Michael. There's Marilyn, a little chickadee... You have one more box in the 40 column that you can select before that column is closed, if you so choose. Where to now?

Last chance to match WC... 40 on the Yellow... There he is!! (applause) No star symbol attached, so no bonus, but you did score $500 for making a match in 5 picks Michael... And that now puts Michael back into the lead. This has been a really great game, very close, lots of lead changes! I like it!!! Michael $1,300, Mark with $600 and James at $1,175. Still ANYBODY'S game to be sure! We'll take a quick time out, and when we return, we'll play our Big Match game, where one of these three nice contestants might just win a $5,000 cash bonus! Much more fun and excitement to come, so please stay tuned!

(APPLAUSE) Big Match time here at Three on a Match. One of our players MIGHT win $5,000 in the next few moments, but it won't affect their score. Remember, the first one of you who uncovers one half of the $5,000 bill will then be given a one out of three chance to find the other half. We start, as always, with the current champion, which is you Michael... Good luck to you all, and have at it Michael.
