12, 1 and 9. I hope those numbers are luck for you. Let's start by revealing number 12. (ding; audience applause)Can't ask for a better beginning. $1000. Let's get another grand or 500 from number 1. (buzz) (scattered groans) The T in "bust". No worries -- yet. Let's get another grand from 9. (ding; audience applause)All right -- $500. Total of $1500, Bill. You're $3500 away from Chicago. Please pick two more numbers -- all at once.

Since I am a little odd, I will take the littlest odd numbers remaining, number 3 and 5 please.

3 and 5 -- all righty then. First, let's reveal what's hiding behind number 3. (ding; audience applause)Another $500. You're up to $2000. If there's money behind 5, you'll either be halfway home or past halfway. What's behind 5? (buzz) (scattered groans) The "S" in "bust". Now, Bill, you're not in any danger of losing the money -- but we are in a stage of the game where we have to go one number at a time. So pick one new number, please.

All right, there are still three $1000 bills waiting to be found. Let's see how lucky 7 is. (ding; audience applause)All right -- $500. Bill, you're up to $2500. Halfway to Chicago. Now, there are still two "bust" letters and one $500 bill left. The rest hide $1000 bills. So it's a 50/50 chance of adding $1000 right now. You're still not in danger of losing money -- so pick another number -- and make it a good one.

Even though he died more than a quarter century before I was born, one of my all-time heroes, not only sports wise but human being wise, is Lou Gehrig, fabled first baseman for the New York Yankees.
His uniform number, the first to ever be retired, was number 4, therefore, and to it, I shall select number 4 and hope for the best!

Going for Lou Gehrig's number 4. Indeed a legend. What's behind 4? (ding; audience applause)Now we're talkin'! Another grand. Up to $3500, Bill. Pick another good number.

For Yogi Berra & Bill Dickey, both of whom wore the same number for the Yankees and both of whom have that number retired to honor them both, number 8 please.

Number 8 -- sticking with legendary Yankees. Wouldn't it be great to find another $1000 bill. Let's see it. (ding) (audience cheers)Hey now! Bill, you're in a really good position. Two letters to avoid. Two letters hide money. If you find money with your next pick, you'll reach or exceed the goal of $5000 and you'll be headed to Chicago. If you find a bust letter, you don't lose anything -- but I'd then give you a chance to bail out and take $4500. Odds are 50-50 that you'll win it all here. Please pick a number that hides either the last $500 bill on the board or the last $1000 bill on the board.

The Yankee legends have come through for me. I'll try one more retired Yankees number from the old school days. The "Scooter" Phil Rizzuto, awesome shortstop and broadcaster for the Yankees from yesteryear. Phil, this one's for you and all the happy memories I associate from my childhood with you. Holy Cow Doug, I'm taking number 10

Odds are 2 to 1 in my favor. That being said, I have a tremendous fear of flying, and Chicago is even colder than the suburban Philadelphia area this time of year, so I will gladly quit and keep the $4,500 Doug
And FYI, if I had gone to the board again, I would have chosen number 2.

(audience cheers)Well, first, you could've visited Chicago in the summer. Vacay package was good for one full year. Second, you're obviously a Charlie Rose type of person who adheres to the belief that your right to know overrides your right to exist. (scattered laughs from the crowd) If Bill went for it, he would've gone for number 2 -- Derek Jeter's number. What would've happened if he went all the way with number 2? (audience cheers)He would've lost it all. Good job, Bill. Let's reveal 6 and 11 just to prove to the world each is a winning number. There ya go. Bill, enjoy your money. Matt Ringgenberg, obviously, is our big winner of the episode with nearly $88,000 in cash winnings. He'll be three wins away from winning a new car when you rejoin us at the dice table on Monday. I'm Doug Morris wishing and yours a great and safe weekend. 'Til we see you Monday, remember this. Mickey and Minnie are very famous mice. Knowing that could help you win big on Hot Dice.
Make it a great day, keep the faith and treasure your loved ones. (closing theme plays; audience applause)
