We're starting our 34th episode of Daytime OAR.
Evan Hatfield has won four matches and $323,352 in cash and prizes. If he wins two out of three games in this next match, he retires undefeated.
After solving what would be his tenth main game puzzle, Evan will play Big 6 for up to $240,000 (the sum of the money roll multiplied by $20,000) and Lucky 7 for a possible $1,000,000 (we'll "borrow" the money amounts in play from On A Roll: After Dark).
However, you could stop his winning ways and start a winning streak of your own. If you haven't lost to Evan, you're eligible to play this qualifying question.
Before the show, Wally did his best impression of CECIL from "Countdown". What three-digit number did Wally randomly generate? The correct answer is higher than 100 and lower than 1000. This game operates on 24-hour deadlines. Please PM me your answer in 24 hours from now. Closest to the right answer, high or low, wins.

(time passes) Okay, let's see what number Wally as CECIL came up with. (clip rolls; Wally randomly generates numbers and stop on...) 483. How an inverted T can lead you to 483 is another subject for another time. Who came the closest? 500 matell29698
Matthew. Can he stop the champ from the million dollar vision of Lucky 7? Showtime's moments from now.

Staff announcer: Patriots prepare for preseason -- tonight at six. (vamp to opening theme as camera zooms in on game board) (camera zooms in on board) Tiffany Phillips: Evan Hatfield, our returning... ...champion is already... ...a big winner. Today, he could win... ...one million dollars if he can get......ON A ROLL! (opening theme plays; audience cheers) Tiffany: Joining us at the game board, from "The Neighborhood", Tichina Arnold. Our dice girl for Game 1, also from "The Neighborhood", Beth Behrs. And here's our host, ready to get on a roll, Doug Morris! (audience cheers) Doug: Thank you, Tiffany. Helllooooo, everybody, and welcome back to On A Roll. Beth, nice to see you again. Beth: Thanks. Great to be back. Doug: And Tichina, welcome to *our* neighborhood for the first time. Tichina: (laughs) Thank you. Doug: It's great to see both of you. Unfortunately, we may not have too much time to chat because we could have an historic moment on our show. So, quickly, let me congratulate you both on a successful first season of "The Neighborhood". Beth: Thanks. And thanks to all the viewers. Doug: Tichina, when can we see this fun show. Tichina: We're back with new episodes starting September 23rd at 8 p.m. on CBS. Doug: If time permits, ladies, we'll chat more. But right now, we need to get ready for an important match -- with today's rollers. (theme plays; audience applause) Evan and Matthew are making their way to the dice table. Evan Hatfield, true to the name of our show, has been on a roll. (audience cheers) Four consecutive matches won. And in the process he has earned $323,352 in cash and prizes. (audience cheers) As if that weren't enough, Evan, here's where you stand. If you win this, your fifth and final match of On A Roll, you'll play the Big 6 word at $20,000 a point in the money roll -- so that's a possible $240,000. (audience cheers) And then it's off to Lucky 7 one final time for a possible $1,000,000 payoff. (audience cheers) If you win both of today's games -- or, and I say this in fairness to Matthew, you lose both of today's games -- this will be your last day on the show. So, with that possibility, let's give you a chance to sent shout-outs to friends and loved ones.

Alright, I'd like to say hello to my family, and especially to my mother, who taught me at a young age to value knowledge - and look where that's gotten me now.
I'd also like to say hi to the fine folks at the radio stations I've been working at, who've been cheering me on the whole way.
Finally, hello to all the Ball State Cardinals out there, and hello especially to my close friends there - you know who you are.

Thanks, Doug. I'm 21 years old and I'm from Poland. I enjoy watching game shows, reading crime books and playing board games.

Well, playing board games means you likely know a thing or two about rolling dice. Let's see who gets control of the dice in this important match -- which starts with a name game. And here it comes. (FF reveal sfx)The correct answer is nine letters long -- and it's a famous person's last name. I'll read the question -- and then we randomly reveal three letters in the answer. When those letters pop in, players, you may signal and give us the answer. Here's the question. Who got on a roll -- when she became one of Hugh Hefner's girls next door? (ding)[Evan and Matthew, please PM me your answer and a buzz code from 1-100.]

[NOTE FROM DOUG: Evan elected to pass. So...] (Matthew buzzes in)Matthew. Matthew: Wilkinson (dings; audience applause)That's it. Kendra Wilkinson. Matthew, please step into the box. Four rolls of the dice are yours. Before you start rolling, let's load up a game board. (FF reveal sfx)And we have a two-word clue at the top row, three-word clue in the middle row and a one-word clue at the bottom. Matthew, you'll be rolling numbers and sums to uncover as many letters as you can. The numbers that are blocked by question marks stay blocked until you correctly solve a clue after taking one or two numbers from that row. While you're on a roll, please do *not* throw doubles. Anytime doubles appear, your opponent takes control of the game and a free letter along the way. (Beth hands dice to Matthew) You've got the rules and the dice, Matthew. You -- are on a roll. (audience cheers as...) (Matthew rolls)Nice big first start -- a 4 and a 6. Matthew, you may take any 4 and any 6 off the board -- and they don't have to be played from the same roll -- or you may combine those numbers and take any 10.

(Tichina touches screen) Starting with an E... (Tichina touches screen) ...and an A. Matthew, you may guess the bottom row's clue, if you'd like, or you may roll again. Evan knows this. Matthew, anytime you make an incorrect guess on a clue or the puzzle solution, there's no penalty and you're still on a roll provided we haven't run out of rolls.

Well, I was thinking about which one was it that I know, but then I looked at the letters in the middle row and so... Who else other than him?

Well, he did volunteer "I shall return" after guessing MacArthur. Folks, please only reveal the middle clue. (FF reveal sfx) Yes. Now, just for funzies, Matthew, what's the top clue?

Oh, that great movie from the late 1970s with him, Ed Flanders, and, get this, Art Fleming, the original "Jeopardy!" quizmaster. Was that it? (FF reveal sfx) No -- the other thing the general was famous for -- his corncob pipe. Okay, in the midst of what's likely the quickest game in Daytime OAR history, Evan, please stay here and root for Matthew for, at least, these next few moments. We should have time for three games in this episode. Matthew, right now, we're going into Big 6 and to the money roll. Now this determines the maximum value of the word. Roll the dice, please, and we'll multiply the sum by $5000. (audience cheers as...) (Matthew rolls)(cha-ching) (scattered applause) Well -- gotta start somewhere. A $15,000 game of Big 6 is about to start with -- Wally! (audience cheers) (post production fade from dice table to Wally) (FF reveal sfx) (scattered laughter) Yes, Mr. DeMille is making moves on the fly. May we have the numbers for Big 6, please? (FF reveal sfx) There they are. Matthew, the dice faces accordingly hide the numbers that spell out your Big 6 word. For solving the puzzle with just one clue fully exposed, you get not one -- but two hints. Wally, please oblige. (ding) (FF reveal sfx) Opening hint: It's game time. Extra hint: Soccer's World Cup. Well, the Women's World Cup was just completed with Team USA winning. (audience cheers) So with that memory still fresh in our minds, Matthew, here's how Big 6 works. Much like the main game, we give you four rolls of the dice. The difference here is if you roll two different numbers, you may only play one them -- and you can't play the sum. So if you rolled a 1 and a 5, you can't play the 6. If you can solve the Big 6 word with just one letter reveal, look in the camera and tell us how much money you'll win.

FIFTEEN THOUUUUUUUUSAND DOLLARS!!!

(audience cheers) (ding) Fifteen large, as we like to say here in the U.S. By the way, I forgot to mention this earlier. I'll mention now. The Big 6 word might or might not be a proper noun. If it is a proper noun, we've verified it by at least two sources. If it's not a proper noun, Dictionary.com verified the word. Now if you need a second roll, the value of the word drops to $5000. For each roll thereafter, the stakes cut in half. If after four rolls you haven't solved the word, we'll give you $500. After all, you came into this a winner; might as well win something. Keep avoiding those doubles -- because doubles are wasted rolls. Also, if you throw two different numbers you already played, that's also a wasted roll. Any wasted roll drops the stakes accordingly. No matter how this turns out, Lucky 7 will follow. (Beth hands Matthew dice) Right now, let's concentrate on winning $15,000. Good luck with your first roll. (audience cheers as...) (Matthew rolls)Starting with a 3 and a 6. Matthew, would you like the 3rd or 6th letter?

(scattered cheers) Well there's that -- and there's the fact France hosted the most recent Women's World Cup. You may be on to something. Wally, for $15,000, is it -- France? (buzz) (audience groans) Negative. Okay, word's now worth $5000. Good luck, Matthew. (audience cheers as...) (Matthew rolls) (audience groans) (buzz) Ack -- your first taste of doubles. And as you know, you don't get anything for a pair. Audience: Not in this game. Quickly, the word's value's down to $2500. Let's win that money this time. (audience cheers as...) (Matthew rolls)And it's a 4 and a 6. Matthew, you've already played the 6. Wally, please show us the 4th letter. (ding)It's an L. For $2500, think game time -- soccer's World Cup -- what's the word?

(scattered cheers) Wally, for $2500, is it -- goalie? (dings; SCSD win theme plays; audience cheers)Yes! Goalie -- a part of every soccer game -- regardless of who's participating and whether or not the World Cup is at stake. Matthew, your winning ways begin with a $2500 payoff. Would you like to play for more money in Lucky 7?

(more cheers) We like that can-do spirit. Wally, please set up Lucky 7. (FF reveal sfx) Thanks, Wally. Matthew, for winning one game in this match, this is here how Lucky 7 game works for you. Wally will give you a certain number of chances to roll any sum of 7 on the dice. But before Wally sets the timer, we need to find out what is at stake. All you have to do is pick a letter in the word "lucky". Those lucky letters hide different amounts of cash of up to $100,000. Which letter would you like?
