Since the original host for Sale is now out of commission, Hunter Dillon will be taking over permanently once the High Rollers special has finished. In the interim, I will be guest hosting this re-do of episode 76. On the original taping, we had Matthew Ellwart, Clara Solsak and Sergio as the players. However, Sergio is long gone as well so I need a replacement for him. I also need Matthew and Clara to check in.

All deadlines are 48 hours and away we go. (pre-opening at studio where Greg is preparing for a new week of shows. Suddenly, his pager goes off) Director: Greg Palmer, to the producer's office immediately! Greg: This better be important. (Greg casually strolls in and finds an upset look on the producer's face) This can't be good. Producer: I'm afraid it's not good at all. We've gotten some complaints about your recent behavior off site. Greg: But sir, if I can just explain......... Producer: I don't want to hear it. You're a veteran host and you should know better than this. Your bad behavior sets a bad example for all the new people that come to play our games. I'm sorry Greg, but you're fired. Greg: Excuse me? Producer: You heard me. You're to leave the building immediately and not set foot here ever again. (Greg mutters under his breath as he leaves) I heard that! (Producer makes phone call) Get Mark Liotta down here right away please. Director: Will do, sir. Producer: I know Mark can behave a lot better than Greg. (Opening theme) Burton: This week, one of our contestants could win a climbing wall treadmill, a plectocycle, or a trip to Egypt! And continue a journey towards a fortune in cash and prizes, including a pair of BMW M5s! And hundreds of thousands of dollars in cash! In total, over one million dollars on..........Sale of the Century! And now, here are your host and hostess, Mark Liotta and Stacey Wren! (cheers and applause as the doors open and Stacey and I walk to the lecturn in the style of Pat and Vanna) Me: Thank you very much, Burton Richardson. It's the start of a new week on Sale and we've got some nice prizes just waiting to be won. Before we introduce the players, I should explain to everyone watching why I'm standing here. During the weekend, Greg was involved in some not so appropriate behavior and is no longer with us as a result. Therefore, I will be hosting tonight's show on an interim basis. We have three fresh faces to start this new week so let's meet them right now. Who do we have tonight, Stacey? Stacey: Well, this episode will be an international affair. First, we have a freelancer who was a spelling bee champion in middle school. From, and I hope I'm pronouncing this right, Gdynia, Poland, Matthew Ellwart. Next, he's a cashier from Minnesota who loves Nickelodeon game shows, Nels Snesrud. And finally, an Aussie! She's a mother of one who allegedly named her son after Tony Barber. From Sydney, Australia, here's Clara Solack! Me: Three players from three different countries. This should definitely be an interesting match. Clara, tell the folks a little bit about yourself.

Hopefully you can make your son very happy by taking home some nice prizes. In our middle position tonight is Nels Snesrud. Says here that you like Nickelodeon game shows. Which particular game show on that network would be your absolute favourite?

Those are good hobbies to have. Ladies and gentlemen, at the start of the program tonight, we mentioned that the show had some international flavor to it. As you can tell, we weren't kidding around. Two of our contestants live in the United States, the other resides in Poland, and we have a guest host that lives in Canada. So this truly is an international show. Good luck, contestants, as we put the three of you to work. We start off your banks with $20 each.
Matthew: $20 Nels: $20 Clara: $20
Correct answers to our questions will earn you $5, but incorrect answers will result in a $5 penalty. Here's the first set of questions for this evening.
1) What famous book, written by Alex Haley, told us about the life of the African prince, Kunta Kinte? 2) What kind of transportation are the sloop, ketch, yawl and schooner types of? 3) From the Latin for “elsewhere”, what word describes an attempt to prove that a person was somewhere else when a crime occurred? 4) In the government, what is usually looked after and controlled by the Federal Reserve System? 5) In “The Wizard Of Oz”, what was the name of Dorothy’s dog?
(Players, please PM me your buzzcodes between 1 and 100 for the first set of questions as well as your answers. If you don't know an answer for any of the questions, simply say pass)

(I have everyone's answers) What famous book, written by Alex Haley, told us about the life of the African prince, Kunta Kinte? (Buzzcode: 49; Nels rings in) Nels. Nels: Roots Me: Correct and you score the first $5 of the night. What kind of transportation are the sloop, ketch, yawl and schooner types of? (Buzzcode: 32; Matthew rings in) Matthew. Matthew: Boats Me: Right, and you go up to $25. From the Latin for “elsewhere”, what word describes an attempt to prove that a person was somewhere else when a crime occurred? (Buzzcode: 19; Clara rings in) Clara. Clara: Alibi Me: Yes. All three of you up to $25 and here's the next one. In the government, what is usually looked after and controlled by the Federal Reserve System? (A few seconds, tacky buzzer) Here's a little hint. The answer is something you're all playing for right now and that is money. Last question for the moment, players. In “The Wizard Of Oz”, what was the name of Dorothy’s dog? (Buzzcode: 48; Matthew rings in) Matthew: Toto Me: Another $5 for you. (Instant Bargain sfx) All right, that sound means it's time for our first instant bargain of the evening and Stacey's going to tell us about it right now. Stacey: It's a brand new iPhone. Apple's iPhone 10S Max comes with 256 gigabytes of storage space, which gives plenty of room for installing all of your favorite apps. This prize normally goes for $1249, but on Sale of the Century, it can be yours for only $8. Me: Those things are very powerful, aren't they? Stacey: They are. I have one myself and I love it. Me: Now Matthew, if you go for this, you will go down to $22. I think you could definitely use a phone like that, don't you?

(Fame Game sfx) Time for our first Fame Game of the night, players. Hands on buzzers and pay attention to the clues I give you. We're looking for an event and here we go. I am a widespread form of gambling that was first used by emperor Augustus Caesar as a way to raise funds for Rome. I then became fashionable in Europe when featured at royal dinner parties where my prizes ranged from slaves to country estates. An English form of me was used to support the settlement of Jamestown, Virginia. I was outlawed in the U.S. in 1894, but revived in New Hampshire in 1963. Since then, I have been adopted in many states which uses me to raise funds for projects and education. Although cards that you scratch off are most used, it’s the one where you pick numbers hoping to have them match that are more associated with me. I am a......... (Back to the studio) Matthew has the lead after the first round of play, but he was locked out just before the break so it will be Nels and Clara that will deal with these next questions. Here we go, players.
1) Which state has the largest aquarium in the world? 2) What famous actor won the Best Actor Oscar in 1962 for his role as Atticus Finch in “To Kill A Mockingbird”? 3) What happens to a religious person if they were to be “canonized”? 4) Although it's usually seen as a circular object, this planet actually bends at the top and the bottom making it a “oblate spheroid”. Name the planet. 5) On what Hawaiian island would you find the capital of Hawaii, Honolulu?

Although it's usually seen as a circular object, this planet actually bends at the top and the bottom making it a “oblate spheroid”. Name the planet. (Buzzcode: 99; Nels rings in) Nels: Jupiter Me: Good answer, but it's actually our very own planet, Earth.

(Instant Bargain sfx) Instant Bargain time again, players. Since Clara's in the lead, she gets to decide whether she wants the following prize that Stacey's about to describe for her. Stacey: Clara, you have a chance to take home a new watercraft. The Sea Doo Spark 2Up watercraft comes with Rotax 900 ACE engine and a trailer. This prize usually retails for $6,998 but here on $ale, you can have it for $7. Me: I'll bet you and Steven would love that watercraft. If you take this prize, you would drop into second place and trail Nels by $2. So to make your decision easier, I'll drop the price to $5 and you would be in a tie for the lead in that case. What do you think, Clara?

She's going for it. Congratulations Clara, you and Steven have a new watercraft and I bet he'll just love that surprise. While I'm on the subject of surprises, that prize has a $ale Surprise attached to it. In addition to that watercraft, Clara, you're also taking home $7500 in cash! That should make Steven very happy. And winning more money would make the three of you very happy, I'm sure, so let's get back to the questions.
1) In the game of “Monopoly”, how much does a person receive when they pass the “GO” square”? 2) If you are in a bad situation, many would describe it using this phrase, usually associated with billiards, that you were “Behind The _____”? 3) What item of clothing are you shopping for if you are trying on corduroys, drainpipes and bell bottoms? 4) A vixen is the female version of what animal? 5) What do you call five infants from a single pregnancy?
(Matthew is now back in play, so I need all three of you to submit your codes and answers via PM as usual. As always, you can say pass on a question if you don't know the answer)

(Fame Game sfx) Fame Game time once again, players. We need a title for this one and here come your clues. I am a prime time TV show that made history when my syndication rights cost went for $600 million. The network that I was on, NBC, was saved from four years of ratings disaster because of me and I was called “the savior of the sitcom” by TV Guide.
