Time for another episode of Lucky Numbers. James Greek returns with $18,375 in winnings. As he defends his crown, you could be the one who challenges -- if you're the closest to the right answer to this.
On Saturday, August 10, 2013, at 6:30 p.m. Central, we watched a rerun of "Wheel of Fortune"; this episode originally aired during the previous season. In this episode's jackpot round, the jackpot went unclaimed. How much money was in the jackpot? Please respond in increments of $50 and please make sure your answer is higher than $5000.
Please PM me your answer in 24 hours from now.

Hi Doug, I’m a freelance photographer from Branson, Missouri. I have travelled all over the states with this job, but I am hoping to visit London if I win today.

Well, a trip to London might await you in the main event today. That way you can take great photos of Big Ben and other fantastic landmarks. I wish you both good luck -- because you'll need it. Take a look at the game board, please, James and JC. Those are the lucky numbers in play for every game in our match -- 4, 5, 6, 8, 9 and 10. Attached to five of those numbers are cash awards. Anytime your dice roll totals one of those lucky numbers, you seize control of that cash award. However, the remaining number is the luckiest of them all. It's our winning point. And the winning point in the first game we're about to play is... (drum beats; cha-ching)...the number 8. Roll an 8 in any combination and you'll win a game, the cash you've seized *plus* the money in the pot. At the start of every game, we seed the pot with $1500 -- just as we have right now -- and it could go up by as much as $500 on a particular roll. More on that later. Now you'll notice 7 is not among our lucky numbers. On this show, any roll of 7 means this. (danger zone cue; lights briefly flicker in certain parts of studio)We're entering the danger zone. The complexion of the game will change from there. More about *that* later. Now -- to get control of the dice, you must correctly answer a toss-up question. If you anticipate and you're wrong, the roll automatically goes to your opponent. So -- players -- hands on the buzzers, please -- because here comes your first question. Richard Dawson, Georgie Porgie or Katy Perry. Who most likely kissed the girls and made them cry? (scattered laughter from the crowd) 04 jman8606 11 jch20088 44 random.org (JC buzzes in) JC?

Georgie's right. (audience cheers)At least Georgie's right *this* time. Other times -- not so much. (scattered laughter from crew) Bit of an inside joke. But no joke, here, JC. This game can end with this roll of the dice. Any combination of 8 makes you $1500 richer. (audience cheers as...) (JC rolls)Got close -- a 6. That's good for some cash. (ding)$300. JC, that $300 award plus the $1500 pot will be all yours to keep if you win this game. Cash awards controlled by our challenger, JC, will light up blue. Awards captured by the champion, James, light up red. On to another question. Nepal, Libya or Kazakhstan. Which nation's flag is asymmetrical? 46 jman8606 83 jch20088 82 random.org (JC buzzes in) JC?

That's the one. (audience cheers)Has that unusual double-triangle shape. JC, another chance to win comes now. (audience cheers as...) (JC rolls)And the roll is a 10 -- which is worth... (ding)...$500. JC has two cash awards seized. James, let's see if you can get on the board with this. Bernard Bernard, James James or Wilson Wilson. What was the name of Tim's neighbor on "Home Improvement"? 75 jman8606 49 jch20088 92 random.org (James buzzes in) James?

Wilson Wilson is right. (audience cheers) Tim had a neighbor on that show? I never noticed. I must've paid too much attention to the Tool Time Girl. (scattered laughter from crowd) James, your first chance to roll and win comes now. (audience cheers as...) (James rolls) (audience groans) (danger zone cue; lights briefly flicker in certain parts of studio)That's not a winning roll. Players, we're now in the danger zone. From now until someone wins the game, the next roll of 7 is a losing roll. So the winner of any question in this game may roll the dice -- or pass if he feels another seven's on the horizon. So crucial question coming up. The Nixon Administration, The Ford Administration or The Reagan Administration. Dr. Henry Kissinger was *not* part of -- which Presidency? 08 jman8606 67 jch20088 50 random.org (JC buzzes in) JC?

The Reagan Administration?

Post by dougmorrisontheair on Jul 1, 2019 18:44:18 GMT -5
Good guess. Reagan Administration's right. (audience cheers) JC, here's the situation. You may roll the dice -- or pass to James. If either player rolls an 8, it's still an automatic win for that player. But if one of you rolls a 7, the opposition automatically wins the game. There's also a matter of wild rolls. Any roll of 2, 3, 11 or 12 will add $500 to the pot and mean an extra roll for that player. A roll of a 4, 5, 6, 9 or 10 in any combination means the game continues. So knowing risks and rewards, JC, who's rolling? (audience shouts suggestions)

All right, James. Dice are yours. You'd love an 8. You really want to avoid that 7. (audience cheers as...) (James rolls)And you got a 5. That's good for... (ding)...$375. Another toss-up question coming. "MacGyver", "Magnum, P.I." or "Supertrain". Which TV series has CBS *not* rebooted? 02 jman8606 82 jch20088 93 random.org (JC buzzes in) JC?

Challenger puts his fate, and the dice, in his own hands. Eight is great. Seven -- not so much. Let's see what happens. (audience cheers as...) (James rolls)Hey there! The 3 is one of the wild rolls. (drum beats; cha-ching)As promised earlier, we put five more bills in the pot. JC, this means you must roll again. Please do. (audience cheers as...) (James rolls)Annnd -- puppy paws for a 10. JC, you already have the 10. This means... (drum beats; cha-ching) ...since the 10 is worth $500, we add another $500 to the pot. But we can't call that a wild roll. So that means we... (commercial cue plays; audience applauds)...play another question -- after we pay a few bills. Lucky Numbers continues after this.

(HR87 theme plays) We're still looking for a winner of our first game of the match. We'll continue play in a moment. Remember we play as many games as time will allow. Player who's banked more cash wins the match and plays our main event -- which has a bonanza in cash and prizes. Yes, I said "bonanza" and I'm durn proud of it. (scattered laughter from crowd) A source for many of the questions we use on Lucky Numbers is the 22-volume World Book Encyclopedia -- which includes the index volume and research guide. Bill Kennedy, I hear you have a fantastic welcoming gift for each of today's players. Bill: I sure do. James and JC have each won a week's stay for two at Mount Airy Casino and Resort. Play your lucky numbers in the world-class casino -- then relax like never before with a spa treatment. The fun and excitement goes on and on. Your host with the most in the Poconos -- beautiful Mount Airy Casino and Resort.Bill: We'll be back with more of Lucky Numbers -- after this message.

(ASB cue plays; audience applauds) Welcome back to Lucky Numbers. First game of our match is about to resume with James and JC. Winning point in this first game is still an 8. JC, playing blue, controls two of the lucky numbers at the present time. James, playing red, has just the one. And we're in the danger zone. So a 7 or an 8 in any combination means victory for someone. Just got to be on the right end of the 8 -- and not the wrong end of the 7. Let's resume play with this. They were father and son, they were cousins or they weren't related. How was President Theodore Roosevelt related to President Franklin D.
