Mr. X: (pauses) I -- doubt it. (FF strike buzzer) Doug: Don't worry, Mr. X. The judge confirms the answer to Bryan's question is "no". Doug: Five questions to go, Bryan. Ask another or pass?

[NOTE FROM DOUG: Recapping due to the recent page turn in this thread. Common courtesy I'd extend much like Chain Reaction, which will be back soon, BTW.] Doug: Okay, Jon, you get to play. Quick recap. Our guest shares his first and last name with an American historic figure. The figure's name is not affiliated with a Broadway play. The figure was not involved in sports. Doug: Jon, with seven questions, go.

Hmmm...not a president, but a Founder. Are you currently pictured on any U.S. currency?

Mr. X: I doubt it. (FF strike buzzer) Doug: Our judge confirming that's a no. Doug: Four questions remain, Jon. Play on or pass?

I’ll try one more...are you related to a U.S. president?

(Mr. X looks to Doug; they both look to judge...) (...who activates FF strike buzzer) (scattered laughter from crowd) Doug: Bless our judge and S&P for keeping us on the straight and narrow. Doug: Buzzer says our guest's name twin is not related to a POTUS.

Took a logical guess, really.

Doug: Well, the guess paid off. *This* John happens to be married to one of my many former TV co-workers. When I first met you and saw Joan since the wedding, it was hard not for me to notice your historic name. What's it like having such an historic name twin? John: Having the same name as a founding father of this country *never* gets old. His signature on The Declaration of Independence, having his name associated with *any* signature to a contract or check. Humbling experience for sure. (audience cheers) Doug: Well, with Jon Darrall's win, his section is taking the lead in the money count. Bryan, you and your group have yet to win big. So we've prepared a bonus question. If you answer it correctly, you'll win $2000 for your cheering section. No help from anyone in the audience. Here's the question for Bryan. American founding father John Hancock not only made a big name for himself, literally with The Declaration of Independence, he also served as governor of what state?

(audience laughs) John: (laughs) I wish. My penmanship pales in comparison to his. Doug: Probably a good thing. Imagine how he'd endorse three checks if he won. (audience laughs) Doug: John, all kidding aside, we do have fine gifts. I'll try to get the producer to spring for dinner for you and the Mrs. John: Sound great. I had a fun time. Doug: Before we take a break, let's see how we're doing in the money department. Doug: Jon's leading with $16,900; Evan's got $15,000; Bryan's yet to win a game but did score $1900 in our little side game earlier. We're back with another name twin and another game -- here on The Name's The Same. (much updated version of "Shooting Star" by Sidney Torch plays) (audience cheers)

(audience cheers)Doug: We're back on The Name's The Same. Two of our rooting sections are splitting more than $30,000. Let's see if Bryan can win big for his rooting section -- as we welcome -- Mr. X. (audience cheers)(Mr. X enters stage; he and Doug shake hands) Doug: Welcome to our show, Mr. X. Mr. X: Thanks, Doug. Great to be here. Doug: All right, players, we're going to increase the level of difficulty a bit. We're just going to tell you our guest shares his first and last name -- with an actor. To say anything further about his work might give it away. (ding) Bryan, Jon, we've replenished your supply of questions to seven each. Evan's supply remains at seven. Jon, you're our third panelist and we're playing the third game. We start the questioning with you.
