We're starting our 33rd episode of Daytime OAR.
Some notes before we resolve a match in progress. After the winner of the match is declared, there's a chance I'll have to put the episode on hold. As noted in the vacation section, I'm going to be off the NGC grid for at least a few days in mid-June.
We should be able to get in the tie-breaker game of the match before my break. Playing Big 6 and Lucky 7 is likely.
So, with that, Evan Hatfield and Matt Ringgenberg, come on d-- er, uh -- up.

Staff announcer: "Maury" -- tonight after "The Late Late Show". (vamp to opening theme as camera zooms in on game board) Tiffany Phillips: If you uncovered the clues... ...Annie Lennox... ...Dave Stewart, and,... ...eighties duo, would you think of... ...Eurythmics? If so, you're......ON A ROLL! (opening theme plays; audience cheers) Tiffany: Joining us at the game board, the star of The CW's "In The Dark", Perry Mattfeld. Our dice girl for Game 1, also from "In The Dark", is Brooke Markham. And here's our host, ready to get on a roll, Doug Morris! (audience cheers) Thank you, Tiffany. Helllooooo, everybody, and welcome back to On A Roll. Great honor to have two of the cast members from "In The Dark". Show's so great, it's already been renewed for a second season. (audience cheers) Well done, Perry. Perry: Thank you, Doug, and thank you to all the fans. For the benefit of those who haven't seen this show, please tell us about it. Perry: Well, I play Murphy, a blind woman with an introverted personality and a self-destructive lifestyle. My character is also trying to find who killed a dear friend. Wow. I saw the pilot. Powerful story. And Brooke, please tell us about your character. Brooke: I'm Jess Damon -- a veterinarian by day and Murphy's roommate, caretaker, and nurse by night. And when can we see "In The Dark"? Brooke: Thursday nights at 9 east and west on The CW. Which would be 8 in the central time zone -- and 4:30 in Poland. (scattered laughter from crowd and models) Ladies, I'd love to chat more. Hope we can chat more about "In The Dark". But we have a match to resolve with today's rollers. (theme plays; audience applause) Evan Hatfield and Matt Ringgenberg are returning to the dice table. Evan, our two-time champion, has won $272,552 in cash and prizes. (audience cheers) He won the first game of the match we started on the last show. Matt won the second game and picked up $1800 in the process. Right now, we're going to play the rubber game of the match. Winner of this tie-breaker game becomes or continues as champion -- and plays for a *lot* of cash between Big 6 and Lucky 7. Good luck to you both. We're starting with this name game. (FF reveal sfx)The correct answer is eight letters long. I'll read the question -- and then we randomly reveal three letters. When those letters pop in, players, you may signal and give us the answer. Here's the question. Members of this family got on a roll in the world of music. What is their shared last name?(ding)[Evan and Matt, please PM me your answer and a buzz code from 1-100.]

(time passes) (buzz buzz)No takers. All right, I'll repeat the question one more time -- and we'll reveal just three more letters. Members of this family got on a roll in the world of music. What is their shared last name?(ding)[Evan and Matt, please PM me your answer and a buzz code from 1-100.]

62 Twentington 70 mringgenberg 60 random.org(Evan buzzes in)Evan? Evan: Gershwin (dings; audience applause)That's it. George, Ira, Arthur, Frances, list goes on and on. Evan, come on in to the box, please. Four rolls of the dice are yours. Right now, let's load up the game board, please. (FF reveal sfx; Perry poses by numbered and blocked spaces) Thanks, Perry. Three-word clue at the top, two-word clue in the middle and one-word clue at the bottom. Those clues lead to the identity of a person, place or thing. Evan, as you know, you'll be rolling numbers and sums to try and uncover as many of those letters as you can. While you're on a roll, please do *not* throw doubles. Anytime doubles appear, your opponent takes control of the game and a free letter along the way. (Brooke hands dice to Evan) Thanks, Brooke. Evan, you've got the dice. You -- are on a roll. (Evan rolls)(audience groans)(buzz)Ack! You *were* on a roll -- but you get nothing for a pair. Audience: Not in this game. Sorry about that. Player, please trade places. Matt, suddenly you're in the game. Before you roll the dice, you're entitled for a free letter. Please select one number from a certain row.

(Perry touches screen) And there's an O. Matt, you may guess the bottom row's clue if you'd like or roll again. Remember, there's no penalty for a wrong guess on a clue or the puzzle.

Post by dougmorrisontheair on May 12, 2019 21:19:01 GMT -5
Okay, this is actually Matt's *first* roll of the tie-breaker game. He's certainly rolled more than once in the match. With all that clarified, please roll. (Matt rolls)This can be played -- a 5 and a 3. Matt, as you know, this means you may take any 5 and the remaining 3 that's on the board. Obviously you'll play different rows if you play the individual numbers. If you want to play the sum, however, you may take any 8.

Bypassing a guess in the process. We'll leave the board as is for now. Both players have their hands on the buzzers. So here comes the next name game. (FF reveal sfx)Another eight-letter answer -- to this new question. Who got on a roll -- when he *heated* things up in the NBA? Come on into the box, please, Evan. Let's see if you can avoid doubles this time. First of four rolls coming. You're on a roll. (Evan rolls)And starting off with a 1 and a 5... ...or a 6.
