(dings; audience cheers) That's right. Now, Evan, you do have three rolls remaining -- but you might not need them. You just solved a clue. That gives you a chance to solve the puzzle, retain your championship and win your third straight match of On A Roll.

(audience cheers) For the game -- is it -- bowling? (dings; SCSD win theme plays; audience cheers) It's bowling! Congratulations, Evan. Another match win. Another try at more than $350,000 in cash. Folks, I'm curious and I'm also appeasing my floor director giving me the international hand signals for "stretch". Anyone want to guess what that top clue is? It's just for funzies.

Ball and pins?

Post by dougmorrisontheair on May 18, 2019 21:25:15 GMT -5
Makes sense. Let's... ...woah! (scattered cheers) Spot on. Goodness knows that top line could've ready "pins and ball". Still, bowling is a sport played in ten frames of competition and it definitely includes a ball and pins. (Brooke places dice near Matt's buzzer) That's the game. That's the match. Matt, 'fraid we have to say goodbye. You did win $1800 in cash on the last show. The cash, fine gifts, and all this applause are yours, Matt Ringgenberg. (audience cheers) (Matt and Brooke leave dice table hand in hand) Evan, you now have a chance to better than double your winnings. Big 6 is coming up shortly. Before we play Big 6, we have to determine the maximum value of the Big 6 word. That's where the money roll comes in. For winning the match, this money roll is for tens of thousands of dollars. Doubles are allowed on the money roll. If you can throw boxcars, you're going to be playing Big 6 for up to $120,000. (more cheers and woahs) Think you can throw double sixes?

(audience cheers)We're back with more of On A Roll. Evan Hatfield has indeed been on a roll. He just won his third straight match. That means, champ, you have a chance to win some really big money with the help of Wally! (audience cheers)Wally, what's on your mind this hump day? (FF reveal sfx) (scattered laughter from crowd) Doug: Ah, sounds like we have a fan of "In The Dark". Perry, you'd most likely know. First, we should explain who Pretzel is. Perry: Awww -- thank you for asking, Wally and Doug. Pretzel is my character's guide dog. Pretzel is played by a Golden Retriever from Canada, where we film the show. The dog's real name is Levi, whose not a real guide dog. Levi is just a regular dog who's back in Canada. Doug: And I'll go ahead and throw in the follow-up question. In lieu of autographs, is Levi available for paw prints? (scattered laughter from crowd) Perry: You'll have to take that up with CW. Doug: Noted. With all the K9 questions out of the way, Wally, may we have the numbers for Big 6, please. (FF reveal sfx) There they are. Evan, you know how this goes by now. For those who don't -- and, again, to make the floor directors happy -- here's how Big 6 works. Those dice faces accordingly hide the letters that spell out your Big 6 word. Wally's about to offer a hint about the word. Wally, what's that hint, please? (ding) Fictional character. Well, we're obviously dealing with a proper name -- a first name, a last name or the only name of the fictional character. Much like rounds of the main game, Evan, we give you four rolls of the dice to uncover as many letters as you can. Big difference here in Big 6 is this. You may only take one of the numbers you roll -- and you can never play the sum. So if you roll a 2 and a 4, you may play only the 2 or 4 -- but not take the 6. After a letter is revealed, you may take a guess. If you can correctly identify this fictional character after just the first roll, look in that camera and exclaim to all how much money you'll win.

(ding) (audience cheers)Yes indeed. Now, if you need a second roll, the value of the word drops like a rock to $10,000. Each additional roll cuts the value of the word in half. Still want to avoid doubles here. Any roll of doubles is a wasted roll -- and automatically reduces the value of the word accordingly. (Brooke hands Evan dice) So, you've got the rules, you've got the dice. Evan, we're all with you here. You -- are on a roll. (audience cheers as...) (Evan rolls)Starting with a 1 and a 3. Would you like the first or third letter?

EUGENE?

Post by dougmorrisontheair on May 21, 2019 6:29:09 GMT -5
For $5000, Wally, is Eugene the fictional character? (buzz) (audience groans) No. Sorry. Evan, down to the last roll. In the event you roll doubles or another 1 and a 2, it's game over and you win $1000 consolation. A wrong answer after this last roll also pays $1000. But the right answer pays $2500. So let's go get another $2500. (audience cheers as...) (Evan rolls)And your last roll is a 4 and a 5. Would you like the fourth or fifth letter?

(scattered cheers) TV historians will recall Carol Burnett brought that character to this stage. Wally, for $2500, are we talking about -- Eunice? (dings; SCSD win theme plays; audience cheers) There we got it. Gosh it's been more than four decades since "The Carol Burnett Show" left the air -- and Vicki Lawrence is still keeping Mama going well into *this* decade. Evan, as for you, you just won 250,000 cents. I gather you'd like to play for 250,000 *dollars* in Lucky 7. Am I right?

Wally, please set up Lucky 7. (FF reveal sfx) Thanks, Wally. Evan, five different cash awards are randomly hidden behind the letters in "lucky". For winning the match, one letter hides the top payoff of $250,000. (scattered cheers and woos) The more cash you find, the tougher it's going to be to win. Which letter in "lucky" would you like?

Wally, what did *you* end up stashing behind U. (cha-ching) (scattered cheers) $25,000. If only there were one more zero there. (alarm goes off) Wally's activating the shutdown timer. Evan, I can tell you 25 grand is the lowest cash award up there. So you should be able to have a decent shot at it with... (ding) ...six rolls of the dice. To collect the $25,000, you must roll any sum of 7 on the dice without rolling doubles. If you avoid doubles but can't come up with a total of 7, you win the roll's sum in hundreds of dollars. Doubles have no dollar value at all and automatically shut down the game. Ready to get back on a roll for $25,000, Evan?

Okie doke. Let's find Evan's next challenger. Time for our qualifying question. If you haven't lost to Evan in his current reign as champ, you're eligible to give it a try.
The player closest to the correct answer, high or low, gets to play in a new match against Evan. Here's the query.
Before the show, one of our guest models rolled the five blocks from TPiR's Let 'Em Roll game. What was the value of the roll? We can confirm she didn't roll five cars right off the bat -- so please make sure your answer is higher than $0, lower than $8000 and in increments of $500.
Please PM your answer to dougmorrisontheair (that's a me) in 24 hours from now.

No more calls, please. We've already got someone who hit the answer right on the nose. First, let's see the result of Perry's roll. (director rolls video; Perry rolls) Well -- she got at least one of everything. Two cars plus a 500, 1000 and 1500 add up to $3000 in anyone's language. Had more than one person PMed me $3000, the player who responded first would take the tie-break edge anyway. That means Evan's next challenger is... Dusty $3000...Dusty Riley! Episode resumes after the line break. (audience cheers) Welcome back to On A Roll. We'll start a new match shortly. First, let's reintroduce our guest models who've traded places. Brooke Markham from The CW's "In The Dark" is next to the game board. Perry Matfield, also from "In The Dark" is with us at the dice table. And also with us at the dice table is Evan Hatfield's next challenger. A nice hand for Dusty Riley. (audience cheers) Dusty, I hear you're a big anime fan.

Indeed I am! For anyone keeping score, my two favorites are a classic (Gundam Wing) and a relatively new one (Yuri on Ice). I host game shows and panels, as well as volunteer for a few anime conventions throughout the midwest. Currently I'm taking a break from the technical writing field to tackle some health issues.

Well we all wish you healthier days ahead, Dusty. Evan, Dusty, we wish you both good luck in a new match -- which commences with a name game. I explain for Dusty's benefit and to still keep the floor directors as they're still motioning a stretch. (scattered laughter from crowd) That's okay. I get paid by the word, here. (FF reveal sfx)We've got a nine-letter last name of a famous person. I'll ask a question, three letters will randomly pop in -- and then you're free to ring in with a guess. Right answer earns four rolls of the dice. Here comes your question. Who got on a roll -- when he directed the movie "The Sixth Sense"? (ding)[Evan and Dusty, please PM me your answer and a buzz code from 1-100.]
