First, I want to give out another shout out to Brandon Scruggs for allowing me to incorporate his "Gold Rush" game from youtube to newgamecentral, and to thank him for writing to me after viewing episode 1 on here and for his very kind comments. I greatly appreciate it Brandon! Frank is our returning champion with over $40,000 in cash and prizes. He will need a new challenger to take him on. Also I want to present to you a few changes/tweaks I've made to the game. First of all in the Bonus Bonanza game, I replaced the "Shield" with a car symbol. A player can win the car if they reveal the car symbol and then match three winning symbols (Gold Mines, Prospectors or Pots of Gold) before revealing three Fool's Gold cards. If a player has the car at stake and they turn over a second Fool's Gold card, they can forfeit the car in exchange for having that Fool's Gold card deemed null and void. Now for the main game: As before, 5 Fool's Gold cards. Four prizes, one is the "Big Ticket Item", which is a prize worth more than $3,000 but less than $7,500. There will now be an insurance card. If a player uncovers that during his turn, he will be protected from a Fool's Gold card if he selects one, however, that player will then have to pick another number right away. Think of it like High Rollers, a player turns in the insurance marker for another roll of the dice. The insurance card is null and void should there remain only one Fool's Gold card on the board. One card now is worth $10,000. Three of the cards are "Random Riches". Those amounts are in $25 increments and can be as little as $750 or as much as $5,000. I used random.org to determine those amounts. If a player selects one, they can either take the mystery cash or they can try again by selecting another number off the board, but the random riches amount won't be revealed until after the player decides whether to keep the random riches or to pick another number. Two "TAKE" Cards. If a player selects one, they are allowed to take away any prize (not cash) that their opponent has, including the insurance card. If a Take either is not played or cannot be played, the player will not have the option to use it unless they come up with a correct answer to another question (just as on Classic Concentration a player had to make a match before they could use the Take card). Double Gold simply doubles a player's score at that moment. If a player has $0 and hits it, then it's virtually a worthless card. The other 7 cards are cash cards, each one will have 3 possible dollar amounts and the player will pick top, middle or bottom to determine the cash prize. The player who has a $25,000 or more lead wins the game. If nothing but Fool's Gold cards remain on the board, the player in the lead will win. If one player selects the last Fool's Gold card, they lose, unless the score is $0 to $0, then one toss-up is played to determine the champion. With all that out of the way, who would like to challenge Frank in the next match of GOLD RU$H?

A little over 2 months ago my wife and I spent the weekend caring for our two little grand nieces ages 2 and 1. Was hardly a moment that I "sat". I recalled my one grandmother making comments that baby "sitting" was indeed a misnomer. I learned that she was absolutely right! But it is rewarding to be sure, as has our game been to you.
Good luck as you go for your second win playing OUR game here tonight Frank.
And I wish to our newcomer, Kourtney Wilson, the very best of luck as well. Kourtney, what would you like Mr. & Mrs. America and all the ships at sea to know about you?

Well, I am a cashier at a National sub sandwich chain. I am lover of old games shows, collector of pens, cigar boxes and other random things. I love to learn about different cultures by learning different language as well.

Sounds like quite the fascinating collection. No cigar boxes or pens to be had here, so you're going to have to settle for cash and some luxurious prizes instead (chuckling). Welcome to Gold Rush Kourtney. Players, there before you lies our big board, 25 numbered squares. Some have cash, some have prizes, one prize is valued at over $5,000 as Burton mentioned. One square contains $10,000 in cash. Other cards include a couple of take cards which can be used to take away a prize from your opponent. One is an insurance marker, which can also be taken away by your opponent if they have a take card to use. The insurance marker will protect your cash and prizes in your bank against one of the five Fool's Gold cards that appear somewhere on our board. The insurance marker however cannot be used if the 5th and final Fool's Gold card is uncovered. You win the game in one of three ways. If your bank is $25,000 or more than your opponent, you win the game. If your opponent uncovers the fifth and final Fool's Gold card and you have cash and/or prizes in your bank, you will win the game also. Finally, if nothing but Fool's Gold cards remain on the board, the player who is in the lead will take the title. Tonight's winner will have a golden opportunity too, to possibly win a beautiful new Cadillac plus tonight's Super Gold Jackpot which is valued at $260,000!!! (Ooohs & ahhhs).... The first question, and it's a doozy, coming up right after these words of interest. Won't you please watch? Thank you! (applause)

(APPLAUSE) Okay, here we are ready to begin tonight's Gold Rush1 Players, hands on buttons. I'll give two possible answers, one of which is the correct answer. The first player to signal will have 5 seconds (48 hours in reality) to come up with the correct answer. Doing so will win control of the Gold Rush board. If you give an incorrect answer or take too long, your opponent will then be given control of the board. With control of the big board, you will always have the option to select a number yourself or pass control to your opponent if you have a fear of the "Fool's Gold" card being selected. Remember there are five of those nasty things up there, avoid them at all cost! Here's the first toss-up question of this evening's match. Gentlemen, good luck to you both... 1982 OR 1983, DURING WHICH YEAR DID "CHEERS" PREMIERE? www.dougmorris.net/dice/HR78_BUZZIN.mp3Kourtney, your answer please.

1982

Indeed it was 1982! (applause) Interestingly enough, "Cheers" first season was the last season for "M*A*S*H". MASH ran 11 seasons from 1972 - 1983, Cheers ran 11 seasons from 1982 - 1993. In any event Kourtney, you control the board. Ordinarily I would ask if you wanted to pass or play, but since you have nothing at risk right now, select a number please.

All,
I received a phone call from my wife saying that her Dad passed away this morning due to complications from pneumonia.
He was 71.
I ask that all games in which I am participating can extend to me some extra time during this difficult time of transition for our family.
Respectfully,
Bill

(I have some time this morning to do updates, next updates might be later today, if not, Friday if all goes according to plan...) The top bill is... (applause) Wonderful! $3,500! A very nice start for our challenger this evening. Beneath my podium we will keep track of how many Fool's Gold cards remain on the board. As you can see by the graphic, all 5 still remain, but 19 numbers are still good. Here's the next toss-up question. From television to the world of motion pictures we go... 8 OR 11, HOW MANY ACADAMY AWARDS DID "THE LORD OF THE RINGS: THE RETURN OF THE KING" WIN? www.dougmorris.net/dice/HR78_BUZZIN.mp3Kourtney, your answer please. (Answer when you can, deadline is flexible due to my current family circumstances)

It was 11!
(applause)
You have $3,500 at stake Kourtney if you go to the board and select one of the 5 Fool's Gold cards hidden up there.
For this reason, you now have the option to pass control to Frank. Remember though, Frank could hit a big money or big prize square himself too.
Do you want to play or pass Kourtney?

Going for the bottom dollar this time... Hey there, another $1,500! (applause) Brings you up to an even $5,000 Kourtney. Next toss-up question coming... 296 OR 336, HOW MANY DIMPLES ARE ON A REGULATION GOLF BALL? www.dougmorris.net/dice/HR78_BUZZIN.mp3Once again it is Kourtney. Your answer please.
