We're about to start the next match of Hot Dice. And if I may borrow a line from Greg Palmer's dice game, Evan Hatfield is on a roll. He's won five straight matches and added to his recorded total -- which is now $170,350. We're looking for his next challenger.
Want to be said challenger? Just come the closest, high or low, to the answer to this qualifying question.
On February 17, 2013, at 4:00pm Central, we watched a GSN rerun of "Family Feud". In Fast Money, two members of the winning family didn't reach the goal of 200 points. The family received how much money as a consolation prize? Please respond in increments of $5.
This game operates on 24-hour deadlines. Please PM me your answer in 24 hours from now.

And the answers are in. Let's see the right answer. (ding)The players scored 137 points and made the family $685 richer. The current "Feud" is making a dramatic rise in the ratings -- and -- let's hope the wages go up with them. Before this turns into a rant, let's find out who's the closest? $665 mringgenbergMatt Ringgenberg takes on Evan Hatfield. Evan, Matt, please watch your inboxes.

Gentlemen, we'll take a moment to chat later. But right now... (ding)...I'm in a mood to give away some money. And let's do that by starting Game 1 of a new match right now. We have six rounds and a catch-up round in this game. Until the catch-up, each round starts with a toss-up question. Winner of the question earns a free roll of the dice and then has a chance to build up a pot of money. Here's your first question. Ronde, Tiki or neither one. As of today, which Barber actively plays in the NFL? 57 twentington 08 mringgenberg 02 randomizer.org(Matt buzzes in)Matt?

Sorry, the correct answer is "neither one". The twin brothers are now retired and have gone into broadcasting. Tiki's part of a morning show on a sports radio network. Ronde does color analysis for NFL broadcasts on TV. So, Evan, that means the dice are hot for you. Please take your free roll. (Evan rolls)And (a few groans from the crowd) starting small. A 4. The value of the roll in hundreds of dollars seeds the pot. So we start with $400. Evan, you're well aware of this. But we may have new viewers looking in for the first time. As long as the dice stay hot, we put more money into the pot. Every safe roll adds another $100 per point to the kitty. But from now until a new round starts, anytime the dice roll totals 7, that's a bust -- meaning everything in the pot goes away and you score nothing for the round. Also going forward, the double decision board is now active. Some of those doubles screens hide thousands of dollars in cash and surprises. Others hide small payoffs -- and there's even a "bust" hiding up there -- which is just as bad as rolling a 7. So that's why we give you the choice of playing a double roll normally -- or going to the corresponding screen on the board. Right now, Evan, the choice is this. Bank $400 and start a new round -- or risk the $400 on the next roll of the dice? (audience shouts suggestions)

Good guess. Kourtney's the oldest. (audience applause) Dice are yours again, champ. (Evan rolls) (scattered groans) Another low roll -- a 5 for $500. Want to bank the five bills or roll for more thrills? (audience shouts suggestions)

(Bump for Evan - and extra time to roll or bank. In trying to log on to this board earlier this morning, I saw an apparent brief outage. It's possible Evan had similar bad luck in attempting to log in.)

Truth be told, they *do* ban hypnotism in schools in San Diego. Perhaps an assembly gone bad lead to this. Evan, that means the dice are yours. (Evan rolls)And you start with a 6 for $600. Bank the six -- or try to avoid the nix? (audience shouts suggestions)

(Evan rolls)(doubles cue; audience cheers)Hey now! Our first double decision of the match -- and it's an interesting one with the boxcars. Evan, we can play this normally and add $1200 to the pot... ...or go to the double 6 screen on the board and hope there's something better than $1200. There could be a lot of money there, there could be a paltry payoff or even a bust -- which would keep this a scoreless game and force the start of Round 4. Evan, what's your double decision?
