(some cheer; others groan) It's Matt's money, not yours, folks. (ding)Some in the audience wanted you to keep going -- but you want to get on the board. In so doing, only $900 separate first from second place as we start Round 6. Unless Matt banks exactly $900 here in Round 6, the catch-up round follows. Important question coming. True or false: In 1990, Roseanne Barr's controversial performance of "The Star-Spangled Banner" came before the second game of a professional baseball doubleheader. 75 twentington 82 mringgenberg 13 randomizer.org(Evan buzzes in)Evan?

Oh no. That was a true statement. (scattered groans) The Cincinnati Reds were in a doubleheader with the Padres in San Diego on July 25th, 1990, when that happened. Real quick story. I was living in Dayton at the time, I was listening to the radio broadcast of the doubleheader, the announcers on the broadcast were puzzled as to why they'd do the National Anthem twice, here comes Roseanne and -- the rest is unfortunate history. Evan unfortunately loses this question. Good news for Matt -- since he takes the free roll of the dice. (Matt rolls) (audience cheers)And the best free roll ever. Boxcars for $1200. Now, Matt, this is Round 6. If you banked now, you'd lead by $300 going into the catch-up round. If you bank any money at all, Evan can always catch up to you -- no matter how much money you bank in this round. What would you like to do? (audience shouts suggestions)

(Matt rolls) (scattered cheers) It's a safe roll -- an 8 -- bringing the pot up to $2000. Is that enough -- or do you want to keep on rolling? (audience shouts suggestions)

(audience cheers) Matt says two large is enough. (ding) (tones sound) And there's the signal confirming it's time for the catch-up round. Matt leads by $1100 right now. Evan, as you know, we start with you since you're trailing. You have just the one roll of the dice to either roll an 11 and tie the game -- or roll a double and default to the double decision board *unless* you roll boxcars. Anything other than an 11 or a double -- means your glorious reign as champion is over -- and Matt is our new champion. Before you roll, we must reshuffle the board. (amounts are shuffled on the double decision board; after shuffling stops, the amounts are covered immediately with the doubles)The double decision board now has extra rolls of the dice up there. Evan, when you're ready -- take those dice please for your catch-up roll. (Evan, number from 1-100, please.)

(Evan rolls)(audience groans) Oh, close but not close enough. For the first time in more than a week, we have a new champion. (dings; audience cheers)Matt Ringgenberg, congratulations. $4200 in this game. We'll total up your winnings and prepare you for your Bonus Bonanza. To Evan Hatfield, the best thing I know to tell you is what I told Nikolai Wataja when he won a then record $107,900 in our previous version of Hot Dice. I told him then and I tell you know -- the clock finally struck midnight. You're leaving here with our great thanks, our best wishes -- and a big fat check for $177,350. (audience cheers and gives Evan a standing ovation) Well played, well earned, well deserved. Evan, again, thanks for playing. Matt, you now have a standard to shoot for. In the two games you won, you've banked a rather nice piece of change already -- $7300. (audience cheers)And when we come back, we'll play the Bonus Bonanza. Who knows? Matt can win more than $170,000 -- or even a million. We're back in a moment. (commercial cue plays; audience applauds)

(Doug in pre-recorded audio as contestant plug cue plays)Do you think you have what it takes to win the million? Call our Hot Dice contestant hotline at 1-800-555-DICE -- or visit TraxProductions.net/dice. (audience applauds) We are back with our new champion, Matt Riggenberg. Matt just defeated our top all-time money winner, Evan Hatfield. Now, Matt, you have a chance to become a big winner yourself. We start the Bonus Bonanza with your free roll of the dice. The value of the Bonus Bonanza's free roll is $250 per point. You rolled boxcars on a free roll in the match earlier for $1200. Right now, this free roll is worth as much as $3000 for a 12. (audience cheers) So -- here are your dice. Let's see how much money you're starting out with. (Matt, number from 1-100, please. Note going forward: Since you're playing against the house and Thanksgiving is coming up in a few days, the deadlines will be lenient.)

(Matt rolls)(scattered cheers) And -- pretty close to boxcars. A 9 for $2250. Now, Matt... ...please take these -- the gold coins you earned in the match. You're going to need them -- because the stakes are higher and so are the dangers. Every safe roll now pays $500 per point. However, there are three sums you want to avoid on every dice roll going forward. Anytime the dice total 5, 7 or 9, you must surrender a coin and roll again. If you roll a 5, 7 or 9 and you don't have a coin to bail you out, the game ends in a bust and you lose everything in the pot. Our double decision board is now active. Three of those doubles screens hide big cash prizes from $25,000 to $100,000. If you roll a double, decide to go to the board *and* find money, we add that money to the pot -- and then replace that prize with $1,000,000. (audience cheers) As before, we reshuffle the board after every double. The other screens, by the way, hide busts. If you find a bust on the board, you'll either have to give up a coin or forfeit everything in the pot. So -- after every safe roll, you'll get a chance to stop. Since the free roll is also a safe roll, you can stop right now and bank $2250 -- or risk everything in the pot and roll again. (audience cheers)

(audience cheers)Going for broke. All right, Matt. If there's money, you're still in business. If there's a bust, you say goodbye to $4250. Show us lots of money in the double 4 screen, please. (bells and sirens sound; audience cheers) $25,000! All right! Now -- Matt -- we've got to tempt you a little further. First, let's reveal the rest of the board for a moment. (FF reveal sfx) The $50,000 and $100,000 prizes stay on the board -- as well as the busts unfortunately. Now, the 25-grand is replaced with... (ding) (audience cheers)...one million dollars. We now reshuffle the board. (amounts are shuffled on the double decision board; after shuffling stops, the amounts are covered immediately with the doubles) Now -- Matt -- you have $29,250 -- but no gold coins to bail you out. You may bank the money and stop here -- or risk it all on at least one more roll of the dice. Roll another double -- and you *could* win more money, possibly become a millionaire -- or lose it all. Of course, a 5, 7 or 9 will cost you 29-grand-plus. Are you rolling -- or are you banking? (audience shouts suggestions)

You're banking $29,250. (audience cheers) Let's crunch the numbers --- $29,250 from this Bonus Bonanza plus more than $7000 in the match you won earlier -- means your total for one match win is already $36,550. (audience cheers)Now -- we're not done quite yet -- because we are Scott Pelley types of folks who adhere to the belief your right to know overrides you right to exist. (a few laughs from the crowd) If you rolled again, what would've happened. This won't count. (Matt rolls)(a few groans) OK, that would've been another four grand. Dice come back to you. Roll 'em again, please. (Matt rolls) (audience cheers) And that would've wiped out more than $30,000. Well done, Matt. We'll see you on the next show. We have time for an audience game -- right after this. (commercial cue plays; audience applauds)

Welcome back to Hot Dice. We just had a previous champion leave us with more than $175,000 -- and our new champion has more than $36,000. Let's see if we can give away more in our audience game of Bullseye. Here to play Bullseye is gameboy2000. (audience cheers) Before we tell you how we play Bullseye, gameboy2000, please tell us a little something about yourself.

Ah, OK. I knew you looked familiar. Delighted to have you here playing the Sup- -- uh -- (a few laughs from the crowd) Bullseye. Here's how Bullseye works. Behind one of those numbers up there, we're randomly hidden the bullseye. The other spaces hide the word "no". Now, we'll give you five rolls of one dice cube to uncover this bullseye. (ding) When you roll a number, we'll reveal what's behind the corresponding number on the board. If you find the bullseye, you win $10,000. If you find a "no" and you still have at least one roll left, roll again. If you repeat a number, that's a wasted roll and we can't give you another try. After five rolls, if you don't find the bullseye, we'll pay you $250 for each "no" you uncover. When you're ready -- give it a roll and we'll see if you can find the bullseye. (Gameboy2000, I've programmed randomizer.org to roll a cube 100 times -- with each result placed in a set. Please respond with a number from 1-100 and you'll see the result of that roll and, at most, the next four rolls "down the list".)

(Gameboy2000 rolls) And we're starting with a 2. Does the 2 hide the bullseye? (buzz) (a few groans) No it doesn't. Cube comes back to you. So if you roll another 2, it's a wasted roll. Just don't roll another 2 and you'll be fine. (Gameboy2000 rolls) (buzz) (a few groans) Uh, Gameboy2000, what part of "don't roll another 2" did you not understand? (a few laughs from the crowd) Three rolls left. Make it a good one. (Gameboy2000 rolls) OK, a 3. Does the 3 on the board hide the bullseye? (dings; audience applause)Yes! You nailed it! You hit the bullseye. Congratulations. How do you feel?
