40 on the Yellow... (flip) (moans) Lyndon Baines Johnson. We have the makings of a modern day Mount Rushmore up on the board. 4 picks to go, now trying for $500 and a $500 bonus Matt. Where to now?

20 on the Green... (flip) (gasps & moans) Theodore Roosevelt. Now we DO have a Mount Rushmore, 4 presidential likenesses. Still trying for $375 Matt. Your next pick has to match, unless you select the "No Match" card :-o Be careful of that, look it over, you have one pick remaining in the 20 column if you elect to try there. Good luck, and where to now Matt?

Let's see, for a match... (flip) No match. (audience awws) Matt, that's twice now that the big board has not cooperated with you...I'm sorry. A very good game nevertheless, Kevin and Michael at $1,000, Matt at $500. Let's see what the last Jackpot will be worth today... $550 this time. Players lock in your codes for the category board please....and let's see... Kevin with 74, Michael with 71, Matt with 59. Funny, the original "Three on a Match" aired from '71 to '74. Let's see who is closest... The code is 48, so once again it is you Matt. Top, Middle or Bottom?

The category this time is about the game of Bowling. There are 2 parts to this question, and you must answer both parts correctly to get credit for a right answer. Here is the question... In one game of bowling, how many consecutive strikes would it take to bowl a perfect game, and what would the final score be?
|
|
|
Post by mringgenberg on Nov 1, 2014 8:42:34 GMT -5
12 Strikes and the final score would be 300

And in spite of the fact that I know that, I've never bowled a 300! Well done Matt! (applause) Let's see what's lurking under "BOWLING"... Another Jackpot! (applause) Well Matt, the big board has been rough for you, but you're more than making up for it with Jackpot questions! My mother taught me an old saying "Third time's a charm". This is your third time at the big board, so perhaps that will be true... Please select your first 2 boxes Matt, and good luck!

30 on the Red... (flip) My mother was right! (applause) Third time's a charm. And cherries were her favorite fruit too! So $375 more for you Matt, but now it's time to see if those Cherries are also the Bonus Match... Let's see...Slide it Earl! (moans) Well it was the Watermelon that time, so no $500 bonus, but still $375, and you added to your lead. A quick recap shows... Matt in the lead with $1,475. Kevin and Michael each tied at $1,000. We'll take a time out here, and when we return, we'll begin with our $5,000 Big Match game! Maybe we can have a winner 2 days in a row for that! Stay tuned!!!

(cheers & applause) Back to the second half of our game. We'd love to hear from you, the viewing audience. Love to hear what you love about the game, or like, or perhaps even dislike, because ultimately we are here to entertain and to please YOU, the viewing audience. I am rather biased perhaps, but I have found adding some new elements to this classic game has spiced it up some, including the exciting bonus game where a new car and a big cash jackpot can be won! Right now, we're at the point of our show where one of these three nice contestants might win a $5,000 cash bonus in the next few minutes. This is only bonus money players, and will not affect the score of the game itself. We will begin with you Kevin. 12 boxes as before on the big board, hidden behind 10 of them are empty safes, but hidden behind 1 is the front half of a $5,000 bill and behind the other is the back half of the $5,000 bill. Kevin will pick a box. If he uncovers either half of the $5,000, we will reveal all but 3 boxes, then he will have a 1 in 3 chance to uncover the other half of it. If Kevin fails to uncover either half, Michael will go next, then Matt. If all 3 players fail, we'll start the process again with Michael going first, then Matt then Kevin. And if they all fail to find either half of the bill, we do the process one last time with Matt going first, then Kevin and finally Michael. So if there are no questions, Kevin, please begin the proceedings by selecting a box.

20 on the Yellow... (flip) Empty safe. Sorry about that Kevin. Also keep in mind players, this is the only game where all 4 boxes can be revealed in a column. Michael, your turn now.
