koopakid17 is back for the fifth and final time, with $82,800 in total winnings so far. Will he retire undefeated, or will a new champion emerge? We need him and a challenger to sign in so that we can get the show started.

And now, it's showtime! (1978 CS Intro) ERIN HARRIS: Aces are high, deuces are low! Call it right, and win the dough...on Card Sharks! (1978 CS Theme) And now, here's the host of Card Sharks, Bill Skinner!Thank you once again, Erin Harris, and we're now beginning a potentially historic Card Sharks where our defending champion koopakid17 has won the last four games in a row, along with cash winnings of $82,800 in those four games. If he wins today, he will be the first in this series to retire undefeated, so good luck to him. But there's someone out to deny him that shot, and we welcome aboard mringgenberg! Now the rules are pretty much straightforward: All matches are best two out of three, and your goal is to try to guess five cards correctly before your opponent does, but before you can play the cards, you must answer a series of questions that we recently polled random groups of 100 people with. And once again, koopakid17 will answer the first question, and it goes something like this...we asked 100 football fans' wives: "Do you enjoy watching the games with your husband, or do you feel neglected because he spends more time on the games than he does on you?"How many of those fans' wives said that they feel neglected?

I think that may be a thing. You got husbands screaming in front of the TV every Sunday and she might not share the same interests. I'll say 45 of them.

It's going to be higher.

koopakid17 says 45... ding!...and mringgenberg thinks it's higher. ding! The number of wives who said that they feel neglected by their husbands during football season is... ding-ding-ding!...57, so it is higher, and mringgenberg will play his cards first. Now let's welcome our two dealers, Amber Lancaster and Tiffany Coyne! Amber is dealing for koopakid17 and Amber for mringgenberg. So Tiffany, what's mringgenberg's first card? (10 ♠) A 10! Would you like to play it right away or change it?

Change It!

Let's see what your new card is.
(K ♣)
It's a King! Now is the next card higher or lower than a King?

Lower!

Lower than a King?
(Q ♠)
ding!
Yes, it's a Queen! Now you can continue playing or freeze right there. What do you want to do?

Lower!

Lower than a Queen?
(A ♣)
buzz!
Ouch, I thought you had it, but it was an Ace, so we move to koopakid17's side of the board, and he must play the first card. What is it, Amber?
(7 ♣)
A 7; is the next card higher or lower?

I'll go higher!

Post by Bill Skinner on Aug 16, 2017 22:31:50 GMT -5
Higher than a 7?
(K ♣)
ding!
You bet! So what's your decision on this, continue or freeze?

Post by koopakid17 on Aug 16, 2017 22:35:17 GMT -5
Lower!
Post by Bill Skinner on Aug 16, 2017 22:37:24 GMT -5
Lower than a King?
(5 ♠)
ding!
You got it again, and you're halfway to winning the first match. Also, the same two options apply here.

I think I'll freeze here.

Post by Bill Skinner on Aug 16, 2017 22:42:42 GMT -5
So we freeze at the 5, and go into our second question of the round. mringgenberg, you will answer this time. We asked 100 commuters: "Which is worse: getting stuck in rush-hour traffic or getting a speeding ticket?"How many people said that a speeding ticket is worse?
Post by mringgenberg on Aug 16, 2017 22:46:44 GMT -5
72
Post by Bill Skinner on Aug 17, 2017 9:19:46 GMT -5
It's 72 for mringgenberg. ding!koopakid17, do you think the actual number is higher or lower than 72?
Post by koopakid17 on Aug 17, 2017 11:47:01 GMT -5
Gotta be higher. At least with rush hour traffic you can't really speed.
Post by Bill Skinner on Aug 17, 2017 13:54:07 GMT -5
And koopakid17 says it's higher. ding! The actual number of commuters who said that a speeding ticket is worse than rush-hour traffic is... ding-ding-ding!...87, so it is higher, and koopakid17 will start from the 5 he froze at earlier. Would you like to play the card or change it?
Post by koopakid17 on Aug 17, 2017 16:43:35 GMT -5
I'll take a risk. I'll change it.
Post by Bill Skinner on Aug 17, 2017 22:21:52 GMT -5
Let's change that 5! What is it now, Amber?
(9 ♣)
A 9. Is the next card higher or lower?
Post by koopakid17 on Aug 17, 2017 22:24:34 GMT -5
That didn't work.
Lower!
Post by Bill Skinner on Aug 17, 2017 22:32:33 GMT -5
Is it lower than a 9?
(4 ♥)
ding!
And you were worrying over nothing, thinking it was a bad move, and still guessed correctly anyway. As a result, you are just one card away from a win, so are you going to continue or freeze?
