(Leslie starts getting worked up) Leslie: Yeah, yeah, what he said. He visited me here, but he kept getting distracted by Lorde! I mean, THE NERVE! (audience laughs, Leslie calms down) And you know, it got me thinkin' about my main man, Colin Jost. Doug was nice and all, but it just made me appreciate Colin more. Doug, it was fun, but I gotta run. Sorry.


(audience groans on Doug's behalf) Greg: Sorry, Doug. You got dumped. (sentimental piano music starts up) Oh Burton, the ways of a modern woman with a man: Taking the best years of his life and then casting him aside… like an old glove!

(At his booth, a despairing and unhappy Burton takes a "shot")


Burton: Ain't it a bloody..... (hic!) shame!?


Greg: But we mustn't judge Leslie too harshly. It's that Colin Jost who's to blame.


Leslie: The hell are you talking about?! (audience laughs)


Greg: You and Colin. Now, Doug... Doug, come over here. (Doug joins me, I put my arm around his shoulder) Now, Doug.... I know Leslie broke your heart in 17 places. When the time comes, do you want to be saved? Now, don't you answer now. No, no, no, no, no. Now it's time to be whatever you want to be. Put behind you any thoughts of Studio 8-H; that place of broken promises.


(back in the booth, Burton downs another drink, plops his head down on the desk and starts crying like a baby) (audience laughs)


Greg: Now, now, Burton, I'll psychologically debrief you later. But Doug.... think of what has transpired tonight. From the ashes that was your relationship with Miss Jones, comes a flaming, fiery PHOENIX that represents the love between Leslie and Colin. And do you want to know something? God will get you for that, Doug. (audience laughs and applauds) Now, my friend, do you have any words of parting for this woman?

(to Greg) Gee, thanks Maude. (scattered laughter from the crowd)

(to Leslie) Sorry we couldn't make a love connection. But I do wish you brighter days ahead. You deserve them.

Leslie: Aww, thank you, baby. (and the two hug, the audience cheers)


Greg: And while those two are saying their last goodbyes, I'd like to say thank you once again for the award. Tony:  This is it, folks... the final award of the night.  Seeing original game shows from the past and present breathe new life to the hosts.  14 years ago, I was dreaming of hosting "Card Sharks" and it turned out to be an overnight success.  And I'm sure the nominees are living the same dream that I had and then some.  Here are the nominees for Best of Channel 3.

Greg: Wow, we really cleaned up tonight, didn't we? First Strangest Prize, Funniest Moment, Lifetime Achievement..... and now this! This has been a great night, and this is a great honor. I've already thanked a lot of people. Stacey, why don't you thank a few?
