(1978 CS Open) ERIN HARRIS: Aces are high, deuces are low! Call it right, and win the dough...on Card Sharks! (1978 CS Theme) And now, here's the host of Card Sharks, Bill Skinner!Thank you once again, Erin Harris, and welcome to the ceremonial tenth show of Card Sharks! Last time we played, koopakid17 won $39,200 and set a new record for the most single-episode winnings on this series. However, we have a new challenger who's ready to try to stop him, grapebuy789. Welcome to the show! Of course, the objective of the game is to guess more cards correctly than your opponent, and all games are best of three. Whoever wins two matches will then move on to the Money Cards for a shot at stacks of cash, and I also want you to give a warm welcome to our dealers, Amber Lancaster and Tiffany Coyne. As always, we begin the first round with our returning champion, and that's koopakid17. I will ask a series of questions, and you have to guess a number between 1 and 100, since we asked 100 people before the show. Then your opponent must guess correctly whether the number is higher or lower than your estimate, and whoever is right will then play the cards first. Now koopakid17, we asked 100 people: "After 100 days in office, is Donald Trump the worst President ever?"How many of those people said yes?

I say give him a break, 100 days doesn't make a president. Then again, William Henry Harrison lasted 30.
But there are some rabid Donald Trump haters out there so I'll say 35.
Post by Bill Skinner on May 2, 2017 13:58:20 GMT -5
So it's 35 for koopakid17... ding!...and grapebuy789, is the actual number higher or lower than 35?

I would think a lot of people hate Donald Trump. That number has got to be higher.

grapebuy789 says it's higher. ding! The actual number of people who said that Trump is the worst President ever, and the first year is not even halfway over, is... ding-ding-ding!...94, so it's a lot higher, and grapebuy789 will play his cards first. Now Tiffany, let's see the first card. It is... (10 ♠) ...a 10! Now you can play this card right away, or change it if you want to see if you can get a better card. What would you like to do?

I'm going to play this card Bill. I'm going to say the next card is lower.

Post by Bill Skinner on May 3, 2017 9:05:25 GMT -5
Lower than a 10?
(J ⋄)
buzz!
Oh, I'm so sorry, that was not a good start for you. Well koopakid17, you get to play your cards now, but you cannot change your base card. Here's the card that you must play now. Amber, will you do the honors?
(7 ⋄)
A 7. Is the next card higher or lower than 7?
Post by koopakid17 on May 3, 2017 12:22:12 GMT -5
Higher.
Post by Bill Skinner on May 3, 2017 12:57:20 GMT -5
If the next card is higher than a 7, you get to keep playing, and if not, we go into a new question. Is it?
(6 ♥)
buzz!
Neither of you has correctly predicted the second card, and so we move on to the next question. This time, grapebuy789 gets to answer it, and we asked 100 television fans:
"Will you continue to watch Live, now that Ryan Seacrest has been named Kelly Ripa's co-host?"
How many of those people said no?
Post by grapebuy789 on May 3, 2017 13:48:22 GMT -5
I heard a few people say that they see Mr. Seacrest as a more of a prime-time host than a daytime host. That being said, I'm going to say the number is 43.
Post by Bill Skinner on May 3, 2017 14:41:17 GMT -5
grapebuy789 says 43. ding! Now koopakid17, is the actual number higher or lower than 43?
Post by koopakid17 on May 3, 2017 17:17:58 GMT -5
I suppose people will watch Live no matter who's hosting. Ryan Seacrest is a ratings grab so I'll say lower.
Post by Bill Skinner on May 3, 2017 22:37:09 GMT -5
And koopakid17 says lower. ding! The actual number of people who said that they would not watch Live with Ryan Seacrest as host is... ding-ding-ding!...37, so it is lower, and koopakid17 gets to control his cards. Now since you made a mistake on the last card, we will have to deal two new cards in the row, and the same will go for grapebuy789. And what's the new base card, Amber? (10 ⋄)It's a 10! Would you like to play it right now or change it?

Change the ten.
Post by Bill Skinner on May 3, 2017 22:47:12 GMT -5
And change it we must. What's the new card?
(J ♠)
A Jack! A minor improvement, but it's an improvement nonetheless. Is the next card higher or lower than a Jack?
Post by koopakid17 on May 3, 2017 22:47:31 GMT -5
Lower!
Post by Bill Skinner on May 3, 2017 22:53:07 GMT -5
Lower than a Jack?
(2 ♠)
ding!
It's a deuce! Now you can stop right now or keep playing. What is your decision?
Post by koopakid17 on May 3, 2017 23:04:28 GMT -5
Higher!
Post by Bill Skinner on May 3, 2017 23:30:37 GMT -5
As long as it's not another 2, you get to keep on playing. Higher than a 2?
(K ♣)
ding!
Right again! And you will...?
Post by koopakid17 on May 4, 2017 6:19:04 GMT -5
Lower!
Post by Bill Skinner on May 4, 2017 8:53:05 GMT -5
Lower than a King?
(2 ♥)
ding!
You're doing very well, my friend. One more card and you'll take the first round, so what's your pleasure?

Post by koopakid17 on May 4, 2017 12:58:45 GMT -5
Gotta go higher!
Post by Bill Skinner on May 4, 2017 13:14:41 GMT -5
The only way you don't win is for that to be another 2; any other card and you win the first round. Now is the next card higher? Show us! (K ♠) ding-ding-ding!And koopakid17 wins the first round in a clean sweep. But grapebuy789 will get a chance to catch up when we come back. First up, these messages. (1978 CS Theme)

We're back with a brand-new round of questions. koopakid17 has won the first round, but now we're going to give the challenger, grapebuy789, a chance to catch up and force a tiebreaker. Here's the first question for our second round, and we asked 100 military families:
"Do you feel that your loved ones have been involved in too many wars?"
How many of those families said yes?
Post by grapebuy789 on May 4, 2017 15:57:52 GMT -5
I know for a fact there are a lot of military families out there. And I salute all the brave men and women of the armed forces. I would think that is a pretty high number so I'll say 73.
