It's a little lower.

And why do you say that, Matt?

I'm pretty sure they were always in good shape.

Heh, speak for yourself. I'm on a diet. (scattered laughter from the crowd) (ding) You laugh -- but I'm working to eat better. Greg says 7; Matt goes lower. The actual number of these people who *were* overweight before becoming certified as personal trainers -- is... (dings; audience applause) ...4. Matt was right. Which four of you? (two men in top row and two women in bottom row raise their hands) Doug: Really? Liza? You? Liza: Yes. I'm currently at a healthy 136 -- and about ten years ago I was 210. (scattered woahs as "before" picture appears on screen) Doug: Man -- alive. The difference is night and day. Liza: Indeed. So -- I worked out, started eating healthier -- and now I'm passing on my life's lessons to others. Doug: Oh, what an inspiration. Thanks for sharing your story. Time permitting, we'll have another question with our trainers. For now, we say thanks for joining us on Card Sharks. (audience applauds as trainers return to their seats) Okay, back to the cards and Matt. Silly question -- but I must ask -- play off of the 8 or change it?

Changing the snowman into... (audience cheers) ...a duck! Wow. You must've given the deck some cut, Matt. I know what you're gonna call -- but you gotta say it.

If this card is lower than a cowboy, Matt, you win Game 1. Greg's crossing his fingers for another cowboy or an ace. Lower than a King... (dings; CS78 game win cue; audience applause) ...lucky 7 wins it. A 7 is usually not a good card in this game -- but when it's the last in your rack -- and it's next to a great card, it's definitely a winner. Matt, as Brie clears the board and gets ready for Game 2, you're $500 richer and one game closer to the money cards. How do you feel?

All right. Greg, you'll need two wins in a row. You played well -- just had some great cards that came up at a rotten time. Okay, cards are set for Game 2. They're the next cards from the tops of the decks. And Matt, first question of Game 2 goes to you. Educated guess question: The state of Ohio kept track of horse-and-buggy crashes up until New Year's Eve of 1999. How many horse-and-buggy crashes were recorded in Ohio during the year 1999?

It was pretty common due to the Y2K bug then so it's going to be a bit of a high number. 500

It has to be lower. 500 is waaaay too high, even for 1999.

(scattered laughter from the crowd) (ding) (ding) Uhhhh, Matt, I'm afraid you misunderstood the question. We were talking about horse-and-buggy crashes in Ohio -- not computer crashes. But -- everyone's locked in. Matt with 500 and Greg going lower. The actual number of horse-and-buggy crashes, not involving technology, that were recorded in Ohio during the year 1999 is... (dings; audience applauds) ...161. Greg's got it. Greg, you need this game to stay in business. You're starting off Game 2 with... ...a 9. Well -- I have to ask. Play off of it or change the niner?

Lower than the queen. (ding; audience applause) Niner. Ohhh -- what a predicament. Greg, wanna take a chance, play for the clean sweep and try to force a tie-breaker game -- or freeze and protect a rather healthy lead?

As Falstaff once said, "Discretion is the better part of valor". I'll freeze.

(Brie and Doug manually move Greg's freeze bar over) Freezing the cards and protecting that big lead. If Greg wins the next question, he'll have a chance to change that 9 and force the tie-breaker. Matt wants to get on the board, win this game and go to the money cards. More of this match after these words. [COMMERCIAL CUE, CHEERS AND APPLAUSE]*fade to commercial*

(audience cheers)Welcome back to Card Sharks. We're in Game 2 -- and Greg has a great lead in said game. He's one card away from the tie-breaker. Matt's yet to get on a board. But let's see who gets control of the cards -- and we're playing another question with help -- from ten certified personal trainers. (audience cheers)(trainers already in place in bidders' row) And, Greg, as we left off, you'll play the question first. Before the show, we asked our ten personal trainers, "Have you completed a marathon?" How many of these ten personal trainers have completed a marathon?

Well, a marathon is serious work. You have to put in some serious time, and if you're with clients, you often don't get that kind of time for training. So, I'll say six.

(ding)Greg says six out of the ten personal trainers have run in a marathon. Matt, do you think the actual number is higher or lower?

I agree too. It does take a lot of serious training so its going to be a little lower.

(ding)Matt's going lower. The actual number of these personal trainers who've completed a marathon is... (dings; audience applause)...woah -- everybody! All ten. (shot of personal trainers applauding) Doug: No sense in me asking for a show of hands because we know all of you have. Graham, what's the deal? Graham: Well, to both players' points, we certainly have to service clients and assist members of gyms with their fitness goals. But at the same time, we also have to practice what we preach. Most of us have worked as fitness models -- (scattered woos from the crowd) -- and we've obviously trained for, and completed, marathons. Doug: If any of you have released calendars, sounds like some in the crowd want to buy some. (more cheers) Graham, any well-known marathon you've completed? Graham: Absolutely -- the last two L.A. marathons. Both were grueling -- but both provided a great sense of accomplishment. Doug: Well congratulations to all ten for your completion in the marathons -- and thanks for joining us today. (audience cheers) Okay, Greg, as we left off, you froze on the 9. Play off of it or change it?
