Hello friends. Jon Darrell will be back as returning champion.
Cle'ment, I know you played before. The game now has a 2 loss elimination rule. I know you lost when you played last time, so if you wish to come back for this episode, you are cordially invited to do so.
I also cordially invite anybody else who didn't just play in episode 5 to participate as well. The first 2 people to "sign up" here will get to take on Jon.
I've made some changes to the game and the rules to try to streamline it a bit more for myself, and also to guarantee that all 3 players have at least one chance to play the matching board.
Here are the revised rules to take place starting with episode #6: Please let me know if you have any questions.
1. "FREE PLAY" Round during segment 1. All 3 players get one turn at the board for free.
2. Every trip to the board will be 7 picks from now on.
3. "FREE PLAY", Round 1 and 2 payouts for a match, 3 picks $750, 4 picks $625, 5 picks $500, 6 picks $375, 7 picks $250.
4. Bonus Match during the "FREE PLAY" Round, Rounds 1 & 2 is a flat $250, making $1,000 the top potential value for making a match.
5. Segment 2 : Round 1 and 2 questions will be worth $125, $250 or Jackpot. The Jackpot will be randomized and not progressive.
6. The Jackpot question value can be $500, $550, $600, $650, $700 or $750 and is only in play during Round 1 and 2 now.
7. At the start of the third segment, the "BIG MATCH" Game for $5,000 will be played prior to the start of Round 3.
8. Round 3 and 4 payouts for a match, 3 picks $1,500, 4 picks $1,250, 5 picks $1,000, 6 picks $750, 7 picks $500 8(a). These values will be doubled if the "DOUBLE YOUR DOLLAR$" cards are the three that are matched first.
9. Round 3 and 4 questions will be worth $250, $500 or "REPLAY". If the "Replay" is selected and you make a match, you get a second trip to the board right away for more money. This could help a player who is far behind, however you MUST make a match to get to do a replay at the matching board.
10. The "DOUBLE YOUR DOLLARS" cards will only be used during Round 3 and 4 and the BONU$ BUCK$ bonus game.
11. All 3 contestants will now remain to play the entire game.
12. The two loss elimination rule still applies unless you win the car or are a 5 time champion.
13. An instant match during the regular game means if that player wins, they will automatically play the bonus game for the car & cash jackpot. 14. More classic board themes will be featured (Music Instruments, Card Suits, Space, Fruit, Presidents, Hats, Old Movie Stars, Monsters, Animals).
15. BONUS BUCK$ Payouts: 3 picks- Car & Cash Jackpot, 4 picks - $17,500, 5 picks - $15,000, 6 picks - $12,500, 7 picks - $10,000
16. BONUS BUCK$ Board will have three sets of matching items - "DOUBLE YOUR DOLLAR$", $1,500" and "$1,000". The 4th set will be three "X"s, which are strikes. If a third X is picked, the game ends and the player wins $0. For this reason, if a player has 2 X's exposed, the host will offer a bailout option, usually the total of the exposed money cards. For the purposes of doing this, the "DOUBLE YOUR DOLLAR$" cards will be worth $500 each.

Jon, Cle'ment & Kevin, assuming everything goes according to plan, I anticipate starting episode 6 some time today.
I look forward to implementing these new rule changes and to see how they play out.
With appreciation deepest,
Bill
P.S. Jon, I did notice and understood your reluctance to say what you would have done in the bonus game during episode 5. Ordinarily I would not have done that, but with the car and jackpot on the line, I was curious, and I suspect at least some of the viewing audience was too. I know Pat does it on Wheel of Fortune every night, and they did so on Catch 21, and sometimes on Joker's Wild too, to see "what could have happened."
I will make it a poll question to see if people would like to see what would have happened or not.

Perfectly understandable. It was more of a joking comment on my part. Did you need my buzzcodes? If so, how many?

I'm always curious to see what could have happened, so I think it's a good idea.

FRANK CALIENDO (imitating Don Pardo): Jon Darrell....Cle'ment....and Kevin Kolsen..... If your first three picks from the board match... and you win today's game, you will be playing for this... 2015 Lincoln, plus a cash jackpot of at least... THIRTY THOUSAND DOLLARS!!! (canned NBC audience OOOOHs & AAAAAHs) From the Bill Cullen Theatre at Rockefeller Plaza in New York... It's... THREE ON A MATCH... With your host... Bill McDee! (applause) That's me! Good day one and all and welcome to the start of a brand new week of "Three on a Match" programs, brought to you every Monday through Friday here on NBC. On our last program Friday, our current champion would have won a new car and $29,000 in cash, except I talked him out of it by offering him a sure deal. In any event he's a terrific champion, he has 3 wins, a total of $22,275 in cash, Jon Darrell!! (applause) Next, we have a returning co-champion since we began implementing a 2 loss elimination rule. He won one game but lost another, and so far his total winnings are $18,300 in cash, all the way from France, welcome back Cle'ment! (applause) And rounding out our trio of contestants this day is a newcomer, and we know this because his name plate is blue. Whenever a player has 1 loss against them, their name plate is red, as is the case for Jon and Cle'ment. But here relatively safe and sound our newcomer Kevin Kolsen! (applause) Kevin my apologies if we have your last name incorrect. (It's uber late here for me, and I'm about to head to bed to be honest LOL).... But let's begin with our current champion Jon, won't you remind us again please about who you are, where you're from, what you do, what you like, etc.?

And Greenville is an appropriate name with all the greenbacks you've already won from us here. Good luck as you go for even more, starting right now! Cle'ment & Kevin, I'll be speaking with you in a bit. We have a brand new feature here on "Three on a Match", that will benefit all three of our contestants. This first segment is our "FREE PLAY" segment. This means all 3 of you will get one trip to the matching board right after your interview to try to get some cash right away. We'll be resetting the tallies to $0 for all 3 of you as we begin. Another change we're making is from now on, every trip to the board that a player makes, he or she will always get 7 picks to make a match from now on. As before, and as you can plainly see, the quicker you find 3 matching pictures on the board, the more money you'll score. All money you score is yours to keep regardless. Two other reminders players, if you make an instant match, meaning in your first 3 picks, you will automatically qualify to play for the car and that $30,000 cash jackpot Frank mentioned a moment ago if you are today's winner and play our BONUS BUCK$ board! Secondly, during the FREE PLAY segment and during our first 2 question rounds, there will be a BONUS MATCH on the board. If the item you match is the bonus match, you'll score a $250 bonus, so one match here at the board, the right match, could be worth up to $1,000. Jon, you know the drill to be sure, please begin by selecting 2 boxes. Remember too players, there is always a "NO MATCH" card lurking up there some place to cause you some grief.

20 on the Red... (flip) A lemon...Fruit themed board this time. 30 on the green... (flip) (gasps from the audience) Well, seems we've been here before Jon. If there is a lemon in the 40 column, and you find it on this very next pick, you'll win at least $750, possibly $250 more if that's the bonus match item, and you'll be eligible to play for the car and the $30,000 cash jackpot in our bonus game if you win today's match. Jon, which box next? This could be a big one...

Let's hope there's a lemon behind 40 on the yellow.

40 on the yellow, for a diagonal Tic-Tac Lemon Dough? (FLIP) That's an instant match! (cheering & applauding) But, is that the bonus match for another $250? (silence) (groans from the audience) No, no $250 bonus. I have it on the card in front of me that the 3 oranges that were hidden on the board was the $250 bonus match, but hey, when the board hands you lemons, you make lemonade, or $750! Not to mention Jon, if you win this game, you'll again automatically play for the car and the $30,000 cash jackpot in the bonus game, as indicated by the lit up car key on your podium... (audience ooohs & ahhs) Yes our art department spared no expense to create that! Cle'ment and Kevin there's no reason why you also can't do that. Cle'ment, welcome to the United States and to New York and specifically to "Trois sur un Match". What would you like the folks here in the studio and watching from home to know about you Cle'ment?

That said, I'm Clément, 25, from Angers, France, and I'm a great fan of game shows and sports.

You see folks? We're an educational show Cle'ment it is a pleasure to welcome you back to the program. Let's say we go to the big board now and see if you can also find 3 on a match. Which 2 boxes would you like to try first Cle'ment?

40 on the red.

Looking for either a comet or Saturn to pair up... (flip) A pair of comets for you to work with now Cle'ment. There may be one in the 20 column, and again I simply say "may be" because the No Match card does lurk somewhere replacing one of the pictures, but we never know which one. Where to next? Still trying for $625 and a possible bonus match.

20 red...

20 on the Red... (flip) That's a match! (applause) $625 for you Cle'ment, and possibly $250 more if the comet was the bonus match. Was it? (buzzer) No, it was the Star that time. 3 stars would have paid a $250 bonus, but I know Cle'ment doesn't mind, $625 for him already, Jon at $750, two very good and seasoned veteran players. Now we turn to our newcomer, Kevin Kolsen, welcome to "Three on a Match" Kevin. What would you like for us to know about you?
