Figuring there's been a great many small cards dealt already, plus the dealer is in a potentially vulnerable position with a 6 as her up card... (applause in the audience) Let's find out if Matt made a good decision. Manuela, please deal up your hole card. Nice! 16, very vulnerable hand. A six or more and she loses and you both will win more cash! $450 for Nathan and $300 for Matt, if the next card is more than six... NO!!! (Groans in the audience).... Oh that's too bad. And Nathan, unfortunately you get nothing for a tie either. Sorry about that.... Manuela, please clear the boards... Let's see if we can do any better for this, the fourth and final hand, as much as $1,000 at stake, $400 if both players beat Manuela plus a $200 bonus for the winning high hand. First card for Nathan... Now that's what we like to see, a big 10 to begin. Now for Matt's first card... A nine, not too bad either. Now Manuela will deal for herself the hole card... Next card for Nathan please... Oh my! (Cheers & applause).... Now Nathan, in a moment, Manuela will deal her up card. And while ties do not pay, if she deals up anything for herself other than a 10 or an Ace, you will be an instant winner since even if she gets 21 with 3 cards or more, a BlackJack always beats that... First things first, Matt needs his second card... A big old King for 19! Solid hand. Let's see if Nathan is an instant winner of at least $400 and more likely $600.... Oh yes! (Cheers & applause) $400 more for you Nathan, plus your Blackjack would beat Matt, even if he decided to draw again, which I think is highly unlikely... $900 Nathan, yours to keep, no matter what. Matt, I dare presume you will freeze at 19, yes?

Not a surprise there. My only concern now is that Manuela's hole card is a ten or face card. Let's hope not... Good! (applause) She has less than 17 so she must draw again... Audience: Whoah!!!!! Up to 16. This card is the decider... Manuela? TOO MUCH! Matt just won another $400 in cash! (applause & cheering) So both players won some nice cash prizes there, $900 for our challenger and $850 for our champion who has over 80 THOUSAND dollars already in cash and prizes! We'll pause for a commercial word so we can recoup some of our $1,750 losses. Back with the first game of match play, after this!

Frank Caliendo (as Kenny Williams): For the winner of game one of tonight's match, we present this handsome shuffleboard table... Hathaway Games The Avenger is the perfect table to introduce the exciting and fun game of shuffleboard to your family and friends, right in the comfort of your own home. The beautiful black melamine cabinet and sturdy pedestal legs with adjustable leg levelers provide optimum stability and level play. $575 (applause) As was the case a while ago on our show, the winner of each game will be paid $50 times the value of their winning hand, with a house minimum guarantee of $500 for a win. If however, either player reaches 21 first, in any combination, that is an instant win and will instead win the ANY 21 Jackpot. It starts at $5,000 but grows by $500 per game until won. It's been a while since we've had a 21 in match play, so right now the Any 21 Jackpot is worth... (CLANG) Eight-thousand dollars! Audience: OOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!! Manuela has a brand new deck of 52 freshly shuffled cards... Please break the seal on that deck... Nathan, as the challenger, you have the option to cut the cards or to decline doing so. If you elect to cut them, select a number higher than 0 but lower than 52. If you elect to decline cutting the cards, please indicate that as well.

Very well, let's hope it's a good cut for you both players. As always, Manuela will reveal the first card of the game... A big old King! Nice way to start. Players, submit your buzz codes higher than 0 but lower than 100 to determine which of you gets to answer this first question... True or False A grand jury consists of twelve members.

(buzzer) Oh no... So sorry about that. A regular jury yes has 12 members, however, a GRAND jury can have anywhere from 16 to 23 individuals compromising it. Sorry about that Nathan. Matt, this means the King's fate is in your hands. Do you wish to keep it or give it away?

Once a contestant reaches a score of 12 or more, they will be given the option to freeze, but only if their score is higher than their opponent. We have a new rule about freezing too, which I will explain if and when we come to it. Meantime, playing for control of the next card, here's the question... According to ecology.com estimates, do more or less than 50 million people die annually worldwide? (Please submit your buzz codes higher than 0 but lower than 101 to me via private message no later than 10am EST on Tuesday, January 3rd, 2017).

Is correct!
(applause)
55.3 million deaths, but there are 131.4 million births per year, a surplus of over 76 million!
Matt, you have a 10 and control the next card. Do you want it, or do you want to give it away?

Matt if your next card is an Ace, you will win game 1 of this match, another $8,000 in cash, and even MORE importantly...that shuffleboard table. (chuckling in the audience). Manuela, what do you have? It's a seven... A pretty good hand Matt. You have the option to freeze at this point. Keep in mind the new rule, which is being carried over from our former sister show "Catch 21". Once you freeze, we will simply deal cards to your opponent. He will have to answer no additional questions in an effort to try to beat your 17, but he would have to get 18 or more without going over to win, as there are no ties. If you continue to play however, you run a very good risk of busting. Interesting choice for you Matt, do you freeze or continue?

Matt's freezing right there, and I can't say as I blame him. Matt if that holds up, you will win the shuffleboard table plus $850 in cash. Now Nathan, Manuela will start dealing up cards for your hand. You must beat 17 but not go over 21 to win. First card please Manuela... Audience - WHOA!!!!!!!!! Nathan, that puts you in a very good position now to hit 21 on the next card, if it's a ten, Jack, Queen or King, it will mean $8,000 and the first game. Manuela? TWENTY-ONE!!!!!!! picosong.com/4U4j/Nathan, the shuffleboard table valued at $575 is yours, plus the Any 21 Jackpot of $8,000 in cold hard cash! (Cheering & applause) Like the slogan of our show says, "You have the knowledge, you know the odds, all the rest is in the cards." Matt displayed knowledge, and he knew the odds were he could very easily go over 21 with another card, so he froze, and indeed, all the rest was in the cards for our challenger. Nathan, a hearty congratulations for that win. However it takes two games to win a match. And we'll set up for Game 2 to see if Matt ties it up, or if his impressive championship reign finally comes to an end, right after, these words of interest.

Our source on Gambit PM for some of the questions we ask is the twenty-two volume World Book Encyclopedia, including the research guide and index volume. Allow me to explain the Trebek circa 1975 look. Two reasons for that. Number one is to promote the return of a CBS show here in daytime, hosted by our good friend Kevin Kolsen, a game of knowledge and nerve, Double Dare. Check your local listings for dates and times. Secondly, upon the conclusion of today's episode, we will be a special presentation tomorrow evening. Instead of Gambit P.M., it will be, at least for one episode anyway, Retro High Rollers, with a similar set from the 1974 NBC daytime series, and the lovely Manuela will be our dice roller. So look for that tomorrow night, at this same time in this same slot. A one night, pilot light kind of episode of Retro High Rollers, and see what kind of reception it receives. Right now, let's here about what the winner of game number 2 of this match will receive, Frank? Designer sunglasses… From Chrome Hearts, these designer sunglasses are 100% Authentic. We guarantee that all of our products are 100% authentic. All items sold by our company are brand new and in perfect condition. Chrome Hearts, retail value… $1,375. And if either player hits 21 on the nose, they will win, in addition to those sunglasses, the Any 21 Jackpot which is now worth.. (CLANG) $5,000 (applause) The remaining 48 cards in the deck have been reshuffled and resealed. Manuela just broke the seal. Nathan, you have the option to cut them or to decline. If you do cut them, select a number higher than 0 but lower than 48 please.
