On today's episode, Raymond Weaver is back. And since Bill McDee had won his final game, we've decided to have Weaver as our designated champion. Right now, we're looking for challenger #2. If you want to give it a shot and win big, please let me know and be on standby.

Good luck to you, James. Now that we get to know our challengers, please allow me to explain the rules of the game. Each player has their own set of 60 super-sized playing cards that were shuffled and cut before the start of the show. James will be playing the red cards and Matt will be playing the blue cards. The object of the game is to guess if the next card is higher or lower than the card that precedes it. You may freeze at any time. And whoever wins the best 2 out of 3 games will be playing the Money Cards for a chance to win up to $168,000 including at a chance at winning a brand new car. [CHEERS AND APPLAUSE]*G2-T2 hovers all the way to center stage* Before you call on the cards, you must answer a High-Low toss-up question. We begin round 1 with our first question for James since he had won the coin toss backstage. *grabs card* James... we've asked 100 married men whose wives are homemakers-- When you leave for work in the morning, is your wife asleep? How many of them say their wives are asleep while you're leaving for work?

[TIME UP BUZZER]James Greek has missed the 24 hour deadline. It's strike one for him. If he misses two more deadlines, he'll be disqualified and a new contestant will replace him. Matt... since James have missed the 24 hour deadline, you have control of the cards. And you'll start this game with-- --an 8. Do you want to play on this card or change it, Matt?

And we'll move the freeze bar for Matt... protecting his cards from his rival. Coming up after the break, we'll have our second question for challenger number 2 and see if he'll win the first round of the match. More cash, prizes, and surprises are still to come when Card Sharks returns following this commercial time out. Stick around, folks... Before we get back to the game, I have a question to the folks at home. Do you want to win a $500 Gift Card from Visa? If you want to send in your opening poem on Card Sharks and win a $500 Visa Gift Card, please listen closely to our announcer George Gray as he'll give you the important details. George...?

[1986 THEME]George: (VO) Well, Tony, it's quite simple. All you have to do is go to CBS.com and send us your contact information and an original two-line poem that can be read on the show. Usually, these poems deal with cards and luck and things of that nature. We also accept limericks, but only if they're really good. If your poem is read on the air, we'll send you a $500 gift card from Visa. Send as many poems as you like. No purchase necessary, void where prohibited. Once submitted, all poems become property of CBS, FremantleMedia, and Mark Goodson Productions. Employees of these companies or any company related to Card Sharks are ineligible. For full details, go to CBS.com. Back to you, Tony!

[CHEERS AND APPLAUSE]Tony: Thank you, George. And welcome back to Card Sharks. For those of you who've tuned in, here's what the board looks like... Our second challenger Matt has a 7 and needs just two cards to win the first round of the match while our first challenger James has yet to touch the first card. Let's return to our first round with question number 2. *grabs the same card that was unused in the first question* Matt... we've asked 100 married men whose wives are homemakers-- When you leave for work in the morning, is your wife asleep? How many of them say their wives are asleep while you're leaving for work?

That depends how early in the morning it is. It could be common sometimes. I think it's a low number. 27

[DING]27 out of 100 say they leave for work in the morning while their wives are asleep. Higher or lower, James?

OK... [DING]If it's higher, you'll play your cards. If not, Matt will play his card. And if one of you get the answer exactly right, you'll win a $1,000 bonus. Matt says 27 and James says it's higher... And the actual number of married men say they leave for work in the morning while their wives are asleep is-- [DING-DING-DING, APPLAUSE]32. James is right... it is higher. And challenger number 1 now gets control of the cards. You'll begin with your base card... ...an Ace! [CHEERS AND APPLAUSE]
