That would be Veronica for the block! *applause* *dong* Good thing your childhood treated you well. Putting yourself a bit closer to forcing a third round of play. What's your next letter?

Here's a Y-question for the two of you. Everybody ready: "What 'Y' was founded in 2005 and sold to Google a year later?" BUZZ: 69 1st: Ray (68) 2nd: Sam (66) Ray by a hair.

It would be YouTube for a white block! *applause* *ding* Good job putting an end to Sam's hot streak. Two away from a side-to-side connection. Your next letter, please?

Yes, sir. This could put you one block away from the Gold Rush. "What 'F' did Billy Joel claim not to have started?" BUZZ: 20 1st: Ray (46) 2nd: Sam (77) Ray again?

Correct and you're one block away from a connection! *applause* *ding* Two ways to do it. Which letter would you like?

The D please.

Going for the D. Raymond, this is for the game. Sam, you need this to stick around. Answer starts with D. "What 'D' did Donkey fall in love with in Shrek?" BUZZ: 94 1st: Sam (88) 2nd: Ray (36) Sam?

It would be dragon for a red block! *applause* *dong* You've made Ray's chase a little bit tighter. Where to next?

Going to S. Won't help Ray so that's a good choice for you. Get ready: "What 'S' in music notation can follow 'time' or 'key'?" BUZZ: 14 1st: Ray (26) 2nd: Sam (75) Raymond?

Is also incorrect. The answer was signature: Key signature, time signature. We're going to another S-question:
"What 'S' completes the proverb: 'The way to a man's heart is through his...'?"
BUZZ: 7 1st: Ray (50) 2nd: Sam (65)
Raymond, your guess?

Before I get to the J question, I need Sam to check his PM.

Raymond is going for the game. Hands to your buzzers, please. J-question is as follows. "What 'J' reached its height in poplarity in the 14th century?" BUZZ: 19 1st: Ray (28) 2nd: Sam (65) For the game, Ray.

The only thing I can think of is jousting.

Post by koopakid17 on Oct 14, 2016 21:43:23 GMT -5
Jousting is the right answer! You've won the game! *Blockbusters win cue* *ding* Raymond, that victory's good for another $1,000 and pretty soon you'll play for $10,000 in the Gold Rush. Hate to say goodbye to Sam. You were outmatched in both rounds but we're going to give you $500 just for playing. We'll come right back and see if Ray will add to his $2,000. Don't away!

Raymond Weaver is our champion with $2,000 in winnings. He's now about to try for $10,000 in the Gold Rush. Here's how it works... This time, we've changed the board to allow more than one letter for acronyms. Ray, when you pick one of those blocks, I will give you a hint and you have to give me the initials. You're looking to make a connection from either the left side to the right... ...or from the top to the bottom. Make one either/or and you win $10,000, it's as simple as that. However, if you miss a question, we put a block on the board in place of the one you missed... ...and you have to try to work your way around it. A few things to keep in mind. I can only give you ten hints. If you don't make a connection after I've asked ten questions, you win $500 for each correct answer you give me. Also, diagonal connections are not allowed—to win the $10,000, your connection must be either top to bottom or side to side. Before we begin, do you have any questions?

Then whenever you're ready, please pick your first block. Good luck.
