Here it is, Blockbusters! Main Game: -The game will be played with two single contestants. -Games are played best two out of three with each win worth $1,000. If a contestant wins the first two games, the opponent leaves with a $500 consolation prize. -The champion connects red from top to bottom and the challenger connects white from left to right. For the pilot episode, a coin toss will determine the "acting champion". Gold Rush: -A connection can be made top to bottom as well as left to right. -A maximum of ten questions can be asked. -Each correct answer is worth $500 if the round is not won. -The grand prize starts at $10,000 and increases by that amount each time it's not won. With that out of the way, I need two players. Who's in?

Bob Hilton: This is the battlefield for our game of speed and strategy! These are the letters that lead to victory on Blockbusters! With your host, Kevin Kolsen! Me: Hello, everybody! Thank you for tuning into the first episode of what I hope will be a terrific run of Blockbusters. We have letters, lots and lots of letters that our players can turn into big bucks. We also have two contestants ready to battle it out for the chance to win $10,000 in cash in the Gold Rush. Let's meet our two contestants, starting with Sam Ryan. What do you want America to know about you before we begin this game, Sam?

Thank you, Ray. Best of luck to you as well. The way we play Blockbusters is you control the board by answering questions. Each hexagon has a letter of the alphabet and the answer to its question will begin with that letter. The two of you have to make a connection from one side of the board to the other. Sam, you're looking to connect the red spaces from top to bottom. Ray, you'll want to connect the whites from left to right. The first player to do that wins the round and $1,000. It takes two rounds to play for $10,000 in the Gold Rush. Right now, our board will randomly select which square we will start with. We have a Y-question to begin. The answer starts with the letter Y, hands on your buzzers, please. "What 'Y' can refer to a Yankee catcher or a character on the lookout for 'a pic-a-nic basket'?" BUZZ: 97 1st: Sam (56) 2nd: Raymond (38) Sam, your answer, please?

Just Yogi would have been fine, you're right! *applause* *dong* Sam draws first blood on our board and since he got that question right, he gets to pick from one of the remaining twenty-four squares on the board. Which letter, Sam?
