In our last episode, we had crowned a new champion Michael Koontz who had won the $150,000 Blackjack Bonus playing Beat The Dealer. Making his second appearance, he has a total of $178,300 in cash and merchandise. Before we start the show, I'm looking for an opponent to play against Michael. If you want to join in and try your luck at defeating him, please let me know and be on standby.

Pat Sajak (voiceover): Watch "Wheel of Fortune" tonight at 7 on WROC Channel 8. ====================================================================================================== ====================================================================================================== [OPENING THEME, CHEERS AND APPLAUSE]Jim Thornton: Today on Gambit, find a dollar sign on the very first selection and win...
And now, from Television City in Hollywood, here is the host of Gambit-- Tony Lane![CHEERS AND APPLAUSE]Tony: Thank you, Jim. Good morning, folks... and welcome to Gambit. Television's game of skill, fate, and fortune. It's a show where a 21 or blackjack could lead to a cavalcade of cash, prizes, and (of course) $1 million. On last night's live presentation of "Celebrity Gambit", we have given away a total of over $1 million in cash, donation, and prizes. [CHEERS AND APPLAUSE]Not only that, we had also given away one home viewer taking home two prizes and over $100,000 in cash. [MORE CHEERS AND APPLAUSE]Now that today is Friday, let's hope that one big winner will take home $1 million playing Beat The Dealer. That's coming up later in our broadcast. First, let's meet our hostess and card dealer. Please give it up for the lovely Jennifer Love Hewitt. Oh, Jenny...? [WILD CHEERS AND APPLAUSE]Jennifer: Happy TGIF, everyone! I hope all of you are gonna be staying warm now that Fall is finally here. Let's get this show started with today's contestants. [CONTESTANTS' INTRO]Our challenger for today is a fast food restaurant cashier. From Parts Unknown, meet KOURTNEY WILSON. [CHEERS AND APPLAUSE]And playing against Kourtney is our return champion. In just one day, he has a total of $178,300 in cash and prizes. He's currently unemployed, but enjoys writing and reading books. From the state of Pennsylvania, meet MICHAEL KOONTZ. [MORE CHEERS AND APPLAUSE]Tony: Thank you, Jennifer... and we'll see you after the break. First of all, let's meet our challenger for a moment. Kourtney... please tell us briefly about yourself.

I see. Good luck to you, Michael. Coming up after the break we'll begin round 1 and see how much is in the big bucks board and the first person reaching 21 or blackjack. We'll return with the first round of Gambit right after this. Stick around, folks... *back to studio* [CHEERS AND APPLAUSE]Welcome back to Gambit. Now that Michael and Kourtney are ready, we'll begin round 1. The object is to get closer to 21 from your rival without going over. And whoever wins the best 2 out of 3 rounds will be playing against Jennifer in Beat The Dealer for $1 million. [CHEERS AND APPLAUSE]Let's take a look at the big bucks board. [CASH REGISTER RINGS]Whoever gets a 21 with a combination of at least three cards, wins the Any 21 Jackpot worth $5,000. But if you get an Ace and either a King, Queen, or Jack wins the Blackjack Bonus of $12,500. [CHEERS AND APPLAUSE]And before the start of the show, the guys at Tandem Techonologies, a RANDOM.ORG company, have delivered a deck of 54 super sized playing cards that were shuffled, cut, and sealed directly to Jennifer. Right now, she's gonna break the seal and will now reveal the very first card up for grabs. Jennifer...? Jennifer: Our first card in round 1 is a 7. Tony: Each correct answer is worth $100 and whoever is closer to 21 while your opponent gets a bust earns an additional $500. Hands on your signal device... here comes the first question. Corvette, Ferrari, or Trans Am-- What model of car was customized to become KITT on "Knight Rider"?You have 24 hours to PM your buzz-code between 1 and 100.

24 HOUR WARNING!
If Michael does not respond his PM buzzcode in less than 10 hours, he'll receive his first strike. If he misses two more, his championship reign will be diminished and a new contestant will replace him.

The Pontiac Trans Am is correct. [APPLAUSE, DING]$100 and a decision for you, Michael. Do you want to keep the 7 or pass it to Kourtney?

The champ is passing the 7 to Kourtney. Although his chance at the Blackjack Bonus is out of play, he needs either a 3 or 4 to be two-thirds away from winning the $5,000 Any 21 Jackpot. Jennifer won't reveal the next card unless someone answers this next question. Celine Dion, Shania Twain, or Faith Hill-- In 1994, what country-pop singer's second single, 'Piece of My Heart,' became a number one hit?

Michael is keeping the card. Jennifer, please reveal Mr. Koontz's first card. Jennifer: Mike's first card is an Ace! [CHEERS AND APPLAUSE]Tony: Michael now has a possible 11. If he answers the next question correctly and his next card is either a 10 or face card, he wins the $12,500 Blackjack Bonus. Here comes the next question for 100 big ones... Chicago, Detroit, or Houston-- Rudy Tomjanovich led what NBA team to a championship in 1994?

[TIME UP SYNTH BUZZER]Time's up. Both players are stumped. The correct answer was the Houston Rockets. No harm, no foul... we'll just move on to a brand new question. Now pay close attention. Atlanta Falcons, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, or Baltimore Ravens-- Since 1998, what NFL team has called Raymond James Stadium home?
